A bridesmaids’ first look is exactly what it sounds like: a special reveal where the bride gets into her wedding gown and accessories in a separate room, typically with the help of her of us and her MOH. Once the bride is ready, there’s a big moment of surprise and celebration. The bridesmaids turn around to see the bride all dressed up for the first time. Expect lots of squeals, hugs, giggles, and happy tears!

Space: Ensure you have enough space for both the bride and her bridesmaids. Ideally, choose a location with separate areas for dressing and relaxing.Comfort: Make sure the space where the bridesmaids wait is comfortable and climate-controlled.Timing: Allocate about 10 minutes for coordinating the first look. Here are some tips for planning an outdoor wedding: (especially in this unpredictable weather 🌤☔)
Be prepared for anything. While you can’t change the weather, you can still try to best prepare for it. When it comes to outdoor weddings, it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Consider renting a tent/ Marquee or having a backup indoor location in case of rain or other inclement weather.
Think about extras and rent them. Since tents are virtually a blank canvas, you’ll likely need to bring in some extras to make the space feel more like a wedding venue. This could include lighting, flooring, tables, chairs, and more.
Tell your guests that you’re having an outdoor wedding. It’s important to let your guests know that your wedding will be outdoors so they can dress appropriately and plan accordingly.
Consider a Planner. There are so many valid reasons to hire a planner, but making sure everything is sorted (well in advance) for an outdoor wedding is one of the most important.
Ask Questions From the Start. You’ll want to be armed with exhaustive questions when you tour prospective venues. Some things to ask about include: power sources, restrooms, parking, noise ordinances, and more.
