What a privilege to be a member of The Guild of Professional Chauffeurs. Our clients certainly get us to some of the most beautiful parts of the UK. This is the Campden House Estate. Our pristine Chrysler Grand Voyager does the job with complements and praise from our passengers.

The Highway Code: update to rules on using mobile phones
From 25 March, rules in The Highway Code are coming into force to make any hand-held use of a mobile phone while driving illegal, except in limited circumstances.
The changes were supported by 80% of respondents in a public consultation in 2021.
This means you must not use a device in your hand for any reason, whether online or offline. The law applies to you if you’re:
• supervising a learner driver
• stopped at traffic lights
• queuing in traffic
• driving a car that turns the engine off when you stop moving
• holding and using a device that’s offline or in flight mode
There are exceptions, such as if you need to call 999 or 112 in an emergency or making a contactless payment in a vehicle that is not moving.

You can find the full rules on using a phone, sat nav or another device when driving on GOV.UK https://www.gov.uk/using-mobile-phones-when-driving-the-law

The government’s award-winning THINK! team have launched an awareness campaign (https://www.think.gov.uk/campaign/mobiles-2022) to remind drivers not to use a hand-held phone at the wheel and the penalties of choosing to ignore this new law.

Why staying up to date is important
It’s important that everyone – not just learner drivers – understand their responsibility for the safety of other road users.

Many of the rules in the code are legal requirements, and if you disobey these rules you’re committing a criminal offence.
If you do not follow the other rules in the code, it can be used in evidence in court proceedings to establish liability.
How to stay up to date

The full version of The Highway Code is available, free of charge, on GOV.UK. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/the-highway-code

It’s illegal to hold a phone or a sat nav while driving - you'll get penalty points, a fine and can be banned from driving.

A fabulous wedding with a great testimony. A delighted mother says:-

"I just want to say how happy the family were with your service, your car was beautiful you were prompt and looked very smart and friendly.

Spencer was very impressed I think he would have spent the whole day with you as he mentioned it was one of his highlights learning how to work all your car gadgets. Thats a 10 yr old boy for you😀."

Well it seems there is a light at the end of COVID. Trip to Heathrow for a lucky family off to Barbados! Mind its been moved 3 or 4 times. So an early run down a very empty M1, nice & steady.
So we're out there doing our bit to keep going, filling in time by courier delivery & packing tea & coffee fit Taylors, just we can be there when everyone gets back to travelling!
If you need to travel give us a shout, we're ready to go!

Guidance for Protective Screens in Licensed Vehicles

Partitions or safety screens provide a physical barrier between drivers and passengers in the vehicle. There has been an increase of interest in the use of screens as a way of providing physical separation between drivers and passengers in order to reduce the transmission of COVID-19.

The installation of driver safety partition screens in licensed vehicles is supported by the Licensing Manager and Licensing Officers at Stratford on Avon District Council for the purposes of improving the safety of licensed drivers, reducing the risk of spreading Coronavirus and assisting drivers to return to work. Whilst it is possible that partitions may reduce the risk of transmission of infection, the risk would not be eliminated entirely.

However, we recognise that in fitting and using such devices the safety of drivers and passengers is vital and need to ensure that all relevant safety, UK and European Community (EC) legislation is complied with. You may need to do this anyway for insurance purposes.
Therefore please ensure that;
(i) This guidance is complied with;
(ii) The screen is fitted in a safe and secure manner;
(iii) You are responsible for Informing your insurers of the intent to fit such a device;
(iv) The device installed should NOT be significantly changed or modified from the original manufactured design;
(v) The device should remain clear and be free of scratches, clouding or stickers which would impede the driver’s or passengers visibility;
(vi) Ensure the device does not impede entry or egress or present a trip hazard to passengers using the vehicle;
(vii) Provide the Licensing Team with an image of the fitted device.

Following on from this, may I remind you of the need to:-
* ensure your vehicle is cleaned and sanitised after each fare;
* ensure no passengers sit in the front of the vehicle as this is against social distancing rules;
* wear masks and gloves, when required;
* take extra care when handling cash;
* ensure handles on the inside and outside of the vehicle are sanitised.
