2024 update: I am already being asked about pasteles. I have not decided of I will make them. Lots and lots of work ( see images). Please comment if interested and I will follow-up late Ict for November orders. $10 a pair w ground beef. Pork shoulder pasteles - inquire. I do not deliver. I am in Stokes county Winston-Salem.

2 hours of peeling bananas and yuca. Ran hot water on them to help in peeling and trying to avoid losing banana from being to stuck to the peel. I think that is the most troubling out of all the steps of making pasteles. ( water bill concerns lol) (tip: rubbed oil on hands to prevent the starch from excessively drying out hands).

$10 a pair for Pasteles Puerto Rican de una Nuyerican Catering en NC. Wepa If that is too much per pair - then consider making them with me in an in person class. At the end then you will have your own 2 pairs- to take home. It is an 8 hour hands on class. And can run into 2 days because of the lengthy prepping. Reach out if you have a group of at least 4 mimimum for a quote. ( shop for ingredients too if interested before the class).

Making some this November. (Nov 18th 2023) Not sure if I will have enough to sell but if interested leave your comment. 1st come 1st serve. $10 a pair w pork. Minimum order $40 for 8 individual pasteles bundled in pairs. December it is $20 a pair. If I make them I will post early Dec. North Carolina only. Near Winston-Salem.
Keep posted. *I use actual banana leaves and roast pernil for the meat with lots of garlic. No garbanzo. Olives yes. It is a long ....A.. process so bare with me.

This holiday 2022, I will be preparing Pasteles in advance. Large pasteles stuffed with pork shoulder that has been marinated in garlic and slow cooked until it is juicy and shredded. And I will have a limited supply. Keep watch for updates.
