My Story: The Clearest Blur
Now more than ever, everyone can be a photographer. Billions of memories are captured every day on smartphones around the globe. I was a little late to the craze. I took a couple of photography courses but I wasn’t feeling inspired in the classroom. My mom is an avid photographer and always has a camera with her, she gave me a hand-me-down camera and I began taking photos of urban settings. Outdoor photography soon became a hobby.
I received my first “real” camera just before a trip to Australia to see family. Suddenly, the world opened up to me through the lens of the camera. Life, architecture, and nature all came flooding in in a new and life changing way. My hobby became my passion.
Since that trip I dove in and learned everything I could about cameras, techniques, and editing. I soon began to pick up work in the field, did an internship at my first studio where I deepened my knowledge of the work and the business, and was invited to participate in my first gallery opening.
My company, The Clearest Blur was born. The name refers to the shallow depth of field that allows me to control focus and create my own unique perspective of the world around me. It’s what drives my creativity every day.
