Loved the lecture last night at Sunnylands on William Haines at the William Haines Art Experience: Exhibition Evening. Wonderful hearing about this dreamboat who walked away from such a successful movie career because studio wanted him back in the closet. In a superb F You and Watch This, he developed the Hollywood regency style and had huge success. There are over 450 pieces of his furniture at Sunnylands. Gorgeous things. Then students created tiny “footstools” with flowers, inspired by the exhibit and taught by yours truly. Great experience!
