I'm so grateful for everyone, and I promise this isn't goodbye, I have too many ideas still. 🥰

As many of you may know, I was in a minor car accident last June, which ended up doing a lot of damage to me physically, and have since learned also mentally as well. 😔

I've been off work, both tattoos and FT job, and am in the process of waiting on the insurance decision about Long-Term Disability to give myself some extra space to heal and not worry.

Part of this hiatus is due to the requirement of no other income, part of it is that I cannot bring my best self to you, and setup would still be tricky for my back so I'd be hurting myself as well.

I'm sorry, especially for my regular spot and , but I'm hoping this step down in obligations for the summer will allow me to heal fully and bring some new goodies to next year!

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate every one of you!
This year has been rough. I had big plans, and then a car accident has put me into chronic back pain since July. I'm better than I was, but still very far away from what I used to be, which has been really hard on my mental health.
But, those big plans are even further into motion, and I can't wait until it's at a point where I can share it with you!
Seeing everyone's enjoyment with their new tattoos has always been what drives me, and I can't wait to start this next journey together!
I hope the holidays have been the rest, the party, the chaos, or the calm that you needed. I'll see you in the new year!!

Manitoba: We need to be better.
In Saskatchewan and New Brunswick, a parent/guardian must give consent for a student (under age 16) to use their preferred name, pronouns and gender expression. This is stated after they say "students must feel they are respected and free to express themselves within a safe and welcoming environment."
While these are posed under the guise of safety for all, it is discrimination. A cis-male or cis-female does not need legal consent to use a nickname. William can request to be called Will, Elizabeth can choose to be called Lizzy.
And Manitoba PC leader Heather Stefanson has promised if she is re-elected she will be giving more "parental rights". Without clarifying what that means in full.
Protecting our children means protecting ALL children. "A landmark 2018 study published in the journal of Adolescent Health found transgender youth who are able to use their preferred names and pronouns reported a 34% drop in suicidal thoughts, and a 65% decrease in su***de attempts " (CTV news).
While these statements may appear to correlated the same message, not all homes are a safe space for non-binary and trans youth. Sometimes the school IS their safe space to be themselves, and this will take that away.
There is so much to unpack with this, I honestly don't even know where to begin sometimes. I will always be learning more as to how to be a better, stronger ally, and I will happily accept any resource someone can provide to aid in that.
Please, research your vote this October 3rd.

I've kept relatively quiet here about the (very minor) car accident I had back in June.
I had a month where I was a bit stiff and sore to be expected, but then it flared up and (at my FT job) I've been off work or working reduced hours for near 2 months now.
For Glitter This Moment (GTM), I've had to cancel a number of appearances. I had a full calendar with plans to be at Grosse Isle for the and every weekend that I have not been able to make.
It has not been a steady road of healing, and have been playing each weekend ear by ear. How much pain was I in, could I get help with the setup and tear down, would going out risk a huge flare up and potentially risk my FT day job further.
Unfortunately, the answer has been "I need to rest". I think with the end of Summer events right around the corner, I need to make the call for no more outdoor events for the year.
EXCEPT...
I will continue to take bookings for personal or corporate events (Indoors) as the heavy work of putting up the 10x10 canopy is not needed then.
I won't lie, it has taken a hard hit on my mental health to be in ongoing pain, but the few bookings I have managed remind me how much I love seeing your smiles and reactions when your fabulous glitter tattoo is revealed.

Didn't get many photos today as this wonderful, fully-prepared-for-a-full-day-event vendor forgot to charge her phone overnight AND forgot a charging cord. 😅 🤦‍♀️ But I remembered water and a neck cooling towel so survived the heat at least!

It's been a little quiet around here so I was excited to give myself a glitter tattoo for my Try Mermaid experience from Blue Oasis Dive Centre Ltd.

Thanks to them, for providing a safe environment to learn the skills necessary to swim safely in a tail. Didn't get a good photo of the tattoo in the water but I swam for an hour plus today and it's looking pristine!
