Our Story
Well, it's finally official...My Bakery shop kitchen is now inspected and licensed by the State of Michigan!!!
A little over 8 years ago, I began operating under the Cottage Law of 2010 making cakes out of my home kitchen, and now, I bake out of my completely separate kitchen which has been licensed by The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development! It has only by the grace of God, that I am here! All of the Glory belongs to Him for blessing me with this business, CortneyGirl's Cake Closet.
I also want to say a HUUUUUUUGE THANK YOU to my Aunt Lynnetta Morton Grissom! My Wonderfully talented, gifted, intelligent, creative, artistic beyond your imagination, blessed and Loved aunt was The One who helped me start all of this!She helped me turn Elijah's stuffed giraffe baby toy into his first birthday cake!! She helped me to take this, 3-dimensional plush toy, and make it 1 dimension flat drawn, onto a piece of sketch paper....which will be in a frame in the shop soon! She was ALWAYS THERE FOR ME with my TONS of Unending questions, and she still is:)!!! She has helped me plan and design a multitude of the cakes that I've done.
