Hiiii, it’s been awhile (never) since I’ve taken my own headshots 🫠🤣 so here we are, doing the impossible 🥰✨

For those that don’t know me, I’m Emily! The owner and lead photographer at Emily Rose Photography, LLC! 🙂 👋🏽
A little about me:

1. I married my high school sweetheart and he’s still a 10/10 😍🔥(he went to Johnston, I went to l
Linn-mar) 💞
2. I’m a recovering perfectionist and people pleaser 🫠
3. I spent my life preparing for my “career” (masters level social worker) only to get burned out after 7 years due to state level politics and needing to prioritize my own mental health + family
4. Being creative has always lit my fire 🔥
5. I love my two little boys and trying to be the best mom I can. It’s so hard. But seeing them turn into little people is the funniest thing ever.
6. I’m pretty weird but I own up to it 🤷🏼‍♀️
7. I love to travel and experience new things but holy 💩 the anxiety I get in airports is through the roof 🤣
8. I’m a huge advocate for mental health, equity, and equality for all 🫶🏼✨ the social worker in my heart will never go far.
9. Hobbies include: napping, reading (sometimes wishing I had the energy to read and watching Netflix instead), planning imaginary trips I’ll never take, occasionally working out, going to therapy 🥰✨.

Obsessions include: animals, adventure, aesthetically pleasing things, true crime, history, organized things (but I’m a messy person🫠), and good smells 😍

That’s me in a nutshell. What else do you want to know??

✨ When you spend months and months planning your special day, little details matter. That means in your pictures as well. Honestly, I edit for me too. Because my brain cannot stand how things like exit signs and air vents look even though they exist everywhere. But seriously, how much of a difference does that make!? You truly should be the only thing drawing attention in an image. 🥰😍✨

What’s the most common thing I hear come Fall that makes me want to cry (because I can save you the stress and take it off your list NOW)? 😢🫣😿

“I had no idea we already had to book a photographer for senior pictures!”…and it’s mid-September...and I’m booked. And your back up photographer pick is booked. And your uncle with a “nice camera” is out of town until October 16th. Then, you secretly hate the awkward pictures he sends you with the sepia editing. So you snap an iPhone selfie because yearbook pictures are due Dec 1…🙀🙀 Or some variety of that 🤣🫠☠️

It’s usually coming from a Senior who is the first in their family (and usually a stressed out one) or a parent of a first time senior who had no clue pictures were supposed to be on their radar this early 🤷🏼‍♀️ I mean, when you are supposed to be planning your entire futures, why would something like senior pictures be at the top of your list. I get it.

So here I am 🦸🏼‍♀️, giving you all the info you need ✨💞✨
