• HELLO FLOWER • Just checking in to say Hi and see how you’re doing? • Still no news on the flower front i’m afraid, I’m not sure when I’ll be back following my dreams but I wanted to let you know that I check in on socials daily and it really does make my heart sing that I still continue to get new followers and love for my posts despite not being active for 6 months ❤️ for my work to continued to be recognised gives me hope that my qualification and time was not wasted• I SEE YOU ALL, the hardworking florist student I once was to the established florists I dream to be and your love and support means everything…It gives me hope that THE WILD PETAL FLORIST will be blooming again one day • I miss my flower loving pals • ✌🏼 🌸🌿 •

• N E W S • I’ve not posted on here for a good few weeks, I’m still here just been thinking some flower things over…. This flower game is H A R D and to be blunt kinda soul destroying 💔 Flowers are not cheap and designs take time, MY TIME and these days everyone wants to sniff out a bargain • People get blinded by supermarket prices and don’t realise that these are just not realistic or attainable prices for independent florists • If I’m honest I’m making more of a loss than a profit and that just can’t continue whilst I’ve got little mouths to feed and bills to pay • My family deserve a regular income and sadly flowers are just not offering that necessity at the moment • The dream would be to grow my own seasonal flowers but sadly I don’t have access to the land or the backing to finance that kind of project • Finding a job in a local florist to build my confidence would be amazing but it’s proved impossible • So I’ve had to take a realistic look at things, reluctantly down my tools and put my flower dreams on hold whilst I step back into an office role • the G O O D NEWS is that I’ll still be offering a few Christmas wreaths with details to be announced shortly but the B A D N E W S is that they’ll likely be my last W I L D P E T A L creation for a while • Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love and support and maybe one day I’ll finally make my flower dreams work • 🖤• ✌🏼• 🌿•

• Spring Awakening • Or at least it was for 2 days • Teasing us with some sunshine before cruelly departing • Mr Sun... • Plant People • This place has got to be on your radar The Langton Greenhouse and Garden Centre is independent family run garden centre in Market Harbrough • Its an absolute O A S I S of house plants (all the cool unusual ones not just the standard run of the mill), amazing quality garden plants and the largest selection of colourful Q U I R K Y plant pots in Leicestershire • It’s also where you’ll find me grafting away, most probably watering my plant buddies 🌱 and fussing over the garden centres 3 mischievous cats 🐈‍⬛ 🐈 🐈‍⬛ we are also completely dog friendly, so be sure to bring your pooch in for a wander • As most of you will know I retrained as a florist, swapping office life for the F L O W E R L I F E 🌻 whilst working on the horticultural team may not be the florist job that I trained for ( maybe it’s time to do that horticultural course after all 🤔) I’m still surrounded by flowering beauties, lush greenery and hopefully soon some spring sunshine...just nurturing blooms instead of cutting and arranging but it all goes hand & hand and I can confirm is good for the SOUL • I’m not forgetting about my bouquets rather just finding my feet on how the plants & the flowers can work harmoniously together •✌️•

• Ay up flower • 🌸 • Thank you for all your wonderful enquires that I’ve received this week for Mother’s Day bouquets • I’m super sorry that I’ve had to disappoint you lovely lot but I’ve just not been able to offer any Wild Petal bouquets 😩 • Believe me I’m absolutely kicking myself but working at the garden centre Weds - Sun doesn’t leave me any time to conjure up beautiful blooms at the mo • it’s a catch 22 situation • Fear not though Im trying to figure out a way to make The Wild Petal Florist work by juggling my bouquets, my day job and being a mum ... I miss doing my floral thing and of-course seeing all your lovely faces, it’s been amazing to hear from you all and heart warming to think even though it’s been a while you’ve not forgotten me and my bouquets • Just out of curiosity if I could offer bouquets for evening collections ONLY (after 7pm Tues - Fri) who would be interested? • Eternal Sunshine • Unice aka Gran • I’d always affectionately called you Gran despite not being my immediate family but you insisted some 25 years ago that I called you Gran whenever our paths would meet, usually birthdays & Christmas gatherings • After all you were the most senior person I knew and It was very clear to all that you were the heart of the family, keeping your children, grandchildren & twelve great grandchildren in check with endless phone calls, chocolate bars, pocket money, football cards, plenty of love & of-course gossip , a tiny frame but such a huge personality, nothing got past Gran • Violet will forever hold dear the stories about being a child in WW2 or the tales about the Stokes days and sneaking into the swimming pool • I know your family will miss you more than anything and I will always give a little wave when a go past the bungalow • Now back together with your beloved Sam • 💜• It was an absolutely privilege to be asked to make your flowers and provide some bright sunshine on a difficult day •

• Hello Petal • Just checking in to say I’m still here 🙋🏻‍♀️ The pace has just slowed whilst I’m dealing with this home schooling lark (seriously feel thick AF and the worst part, my 11 & 8 year olds knows it!!) • Scrolling through my posts from last year makes me one HAPPY BEE 🐝 was that really me??? kinda feels like a blur... What a CRAZY 6 months that was....When I started The Wild Petal, born out of lockdown boredom (and nervous butterflies) I had no idea just how much love there would be for my arrangements but my god you lovely lot embraced it and completely showered it with LOVE , likes, follows, comments, reviews...it absolutely BLEW MY SOCKS OFF and reminded me that sometimes risks ARE worth taking • Thank you ❤️ • I might of downed tools for a min but hopefully I’ll be dusting them off and getting back on my floral adventure as soon as time allows • The question is what would you like to see from The Wild Petal in 2021? ✌️ 🌻 🖤

• Hello 2021 • Well as Monday’s in January go that sure was a smack in the face wasn’t it? but despite the s**t show that continues, I hope you all managed to have a relaxing and healthy Christmas, stepping into 2021 with a spring in your step armed with positivity and strength for whatever this year might throw at us....sure looks like we’ll all be needing it 💪🏼• I’ve used these last few weeks as a gentle break to take stock and look back over what I’ve achieved over these last 12 months.....it’s been a crazy ride and life sure has changed but without doubt working with nature and helping others makes my heart sing.. ... but also time to think through what the future looks like for Wild Petal and at the moment I’ve gotta admit that I’m feeling a little lost, daunted, not quite knowing which direction to go and where Wild Petal fits into it all but please stay with me and hopefully with the change in seasons my bursts of floral vision and wonder will return but for now I’m continuing to take some time to chill, take care of myself and just enjoy being around my children to make this lockdown (and hopefully the last!) the very best experience it can be for my family • Stay safe everyone and don’t be a dick ✌️ • Picture credit to the most talented lady and beautiful human, tattoo artists have had a rough ride this year...if tattoos aren’t your thing you can still support by buying amazing artwork or simply following and sharing..support local talent in 2021 •

• Prep Prep Prep • Getting my Christmas prep on with strawing, strawing and yup more strawing • My wreaths don’t just magically get made by the Xmas fairies ( although that would be awesome 🧚‍♀️) they are all HANDMADE by me from start to finish from strawing up, getting the all important foundations in place to adding each individual stem of fir, eucalyptus,Ivy and maybe the odd feather or two • Each wreath is beautifully UNIQUE with its own quirky PIZZAZZ but all made with sprinkles of love and Christmas wishes • 🌲• Support local this Christmas and make someone rock around their Xmas tree •

• Belief • See this thing here might look boring AF to some people but it might be MORE than just a bit of paper it might just be a step in the right direction• See when I was feeling trapped, suffocated in a toxic office job of 13 years this was all a dream, a DREAM to study floristry and a deep feeling of regret that maybe it was too late and I was stuck in a vicious circle but see this bit of paper here shows that I am capable, despite my own fear & insecurities I took a risk and left my comfort zone... (shout out to all my loves who didn’t think I was crazy and believed in me 💕)... nothing ventured nothing gained and all that.... I just knew I had to get out the toxic work cycle that I was in and do something for me and make my kids proud • Nature adding the Zen • Crazy to think 18 months after taking that risk that this certificate would land on my doorstep... I have a long way to go but maybe with a sprinkle of the same belief that’s got me here I’ll be able to believe in myself and dream bigger • I maybe working in a garden centre as a horticulture assistant and not in florist shop ( florist employment is like gold dust at the mo✨) but it’s a step into the calm and without this qualification that wouldn’t be possible• And nope it’s not a hobby it’s a qualification and I worked bloody hard juggling life, a full time course, an account manager job and being a mum of 2 to get them distinction star grades 💫 •

• C word • Ok ok Its the general consensus that 2020 needs to well and truly DO ONE and it appears that because of this mutual understanding we seem to have all become festive fairies (yep even the grinch in us) and have begun our CHRISTMAS prep earlier than what’s usually socially acceptable and to be honest I’m feeling massively behind with it all but after lots of enquiries I promise I will pull my finger out and make a start on my CHRISTMAS door wreaths so you can all have some WILD PETAL love on your doors • I’ll be offering vibrant, indulgent, opulent and rustic door wreaths hand made by moi on a straw frame ... hands up who needs one? • Hibernation • Just popping on to say I might be AWOL on here over the next couple of weeks • I’ve started a part time job at a local garden centre on the horticulture team 🌿🌵🌱🌳 which will hopefully work hand in hand and strengthen my floral & fern knowledge, lots of C O O L plant stuff to learn but for now I need a couple of weeks to focus on my new schedule and get M Y. S H I T together • I love floristry but for me at the moment it’s unfortunately not a full time job or wage and i’ve got mouths to feed • Today was my first day on the job & I went home with dirty finger nails from all the compost & a big smile on my face • I absolutely loved it •
I’ll still be working on focusing on my kick ass bright quirky bouquets & jam jars but for a couple of weeks it’s peace out • ✌️ •
