It was about this time last year when A reached out to me asking if I would be their day of coordinator for their NYE wedding. To be honest, I was so nervous. I didn’t know if I knew enough to do a wedding of that scale, much less on a significant night like NYE. In the end, I said yes, and I’m SO glad I did! I met so many amazing vendors, spent the night working with my husband celebrating love (NYE is when we got engaged, too) and had such a blast ! Forever one of my favorite weddings

Of course you do! Your level of involvement is entirely up to you. You can give me a budget, I’ll make the plans and send to you for final approval OR I can give you suggestions, you decide what you like, I work with the vendors to finalize the nitty gritty details for you.

There are so many details and behind-the-scenes tasks that go into a wedding (and event) to make the day run smoothly. Even for day of coordination —which is really 2 months when we work together!—there are final vendor confirmations, making sure vendors have what they need, the couple has all the things they need and the wedding party feels secure in knowing what they’re doing and when. I recently started making pocket timelines for my couple’s wedding parties. It helps take the pressure off so they can chill 🤍💍

First, a huge thank you to my clients and family as I navigate our new “normal.” I have many client meetings during nap time and right after bedtime.
Second, please be patient with me. I have weddings every weekend from now until Halloween, and there’s a couple weekday ones in there too. Emails may take me 48 hours to respond to as I’m trying to establish healthy boundaries and a more consistent schedule as the school year gets going.

Wedding planning can be daunting. A question I often see is “where do I start?” There’s so many moving pieces, how do you know where to begin?
I always suggest determining a budget that you are comfortable with. From there, determine a rough guest count and find a venue that fills both of those requirements.

Wow. Exactly one year ago today I did my first wedding. I was so fortunate to have a friend who was willing to let me jump in and help out with her wedding. I’ve learned so many things since that first one, and from so many incredible people. 🤍 Between the amazing new clients I get to work with and every day, and taking a part-time event coordinator role at a local venue, I feel so blessed and blown away to be where I am now. I didn’t imagine I’d have 3 employees one year in. I didn’t envision I’d be fully booked through October in year one. I didn’t dare hope that it would provide enough opportunity to let me take a leap of faith and leave the classroom to be a more present mama and build this new dream and passion I found after only have been here for a year.
