if 2020 was a year defined by external turmoil, 2021 was the flipside—a year of internal struggle, collapse, reassessment and further understanding of what it means to live a healthy, fulfilling, sustainable life. The constant across these two difficult years was music. Music showed up in many ways, whether it was studio sessions with , a jam out in the woods with , a Lovetap Saturday , a much-needed concert with loved ones or just time alone with Monk, Byrd and Miles. I used to believe that the healing power of music just a cliche, yet the past couple years have taught me that music is a practice of love, an expression of gratitude and a powerful means of navigating life

I haven’t gigged much since the summer and am so grateful to be ringing in the new year with my family .nyc - we’ll be on Friday vaxxed masked and dancing. hope to see you there . link in bio 🎵🎵🎵

A big big thank you to the incredible DJs who came correct on a Tuesday to work the floor at Hart + Soul in 2019 - Analog Soul, Nathaniel Jay, John Barera Abraham Othwell, Olive T. Haruka, Veblen Defect, Serrian, Blinky Palermo, Greg Paulus Thomas Delta and Malin Bray.

the Hart + Soul party grew out of my deep and abiding love for Bossa Nova Civic Club as a space, a community and a cornerstone of this culture. through years of Bossa happy hours i got the lay of the land. Then one day Chris gave me a shot, when I invited DJ Voices and Aaron Seth Vaslow to play our first night in spring 2018 (thank you both, it set a high bar for all future nights).

In 2019 H+S really came into its own as a mid week function where great DJs could get down with a great, receptive industry and neighborhood crowd. We even had our first international booking! it's really a dream come true to do this party every other month and so big thank you to Bossa Nova Civic Club for the opportunity. s/o my tuesday night squad Edward, Deanna (miss u) and Jean. thank you john and frankie, too. excited for 2020
