Joel Chadd writes and plays songs that are brutally honest and open hearted. His themes are universal, but the songs feel as if they were written just for you. His melodies dance between soulful vocals and passionate guitar playing, drawing the listener ever-so-close.

Brad Parsons is a singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist from Astoria. In 2023, he released his third album, “Slow Poke,” and the single “Wild Mind” currently has 100,000+ streams on Spotify. His career collaborators include John Craigie, Bart Budwig, Horse Feathers, Cabinet, Fruition, TK & The Holy Know Nothings. Parsons has toured nationally and performed at festivals such as Treefort Music Fest, WinterWonderGrass (Steamboat/Tahoe), High Sierra, Northwest String Summit, Yarmony Grass, Beanstalk, and Sawtooth Valley Gathering.

The unique vocal talent of Jeff Miller remains at the core. Joining Jeff are Russ Skelton, Bethany Houts, Ray Shelley on drums, and Jeremy Eggert on electric guitar. From the moment they start playing, they have a sound that’s entirely their own. It’s a little bluesy, a little country, and a lot of soul-infused magic. Brought together by a shared love of all styles of music, Jeff Miller and The Congregation are known for their rich harmonies and gritty vocals, held together by bass, drums, guitars, and fiddle. The group’s sound isn’t just about the notes they sing or play but more about how their music makes you feel. Once you hear them, you want to hear more. It doesn’t matter if you’re young, old, or somewhere in between—there’s something for everyone when this band plays.

Rich Swanger is an Oregon based singer-songwriter with roots in folk and country-blues music. Born amongst the Appalachian hills of Pennsylvania, he was surrounded by song from the very beginning. He discovered harmony in the church choir and found an affinity for twang listening to his father strum country classics around the house. Swanger has recorded 4 full length albums, and performs his mystic country music regularly around the Willamette Valley with his group, The Little Known Band.

Not long after crossing beyond the neon into Al’s Tavern, one might catch murmurs drifting up and down the bar during Dean Johnson’s bartending shifts – nudges and whispers that he might just be the best songwriter in town. “Wait ’til you hear him sing. Just don’t ask him to do it, because he won’t. He might do another show this year, but probably not.” Al’s regulars, howsoever biased, speak of his talent like a family secret – Seattle folklore. How many times, and for how many years, has Dean elusively replied to some variation of the question, “When will there be a record?”

The phrase “hidden gem” would seem appropriate here, but it’s a misnomer when talking about Dean Johnson. He shines bright, in plain sight, and it was only a matter of time before people stopped to take a look. Dean’s gentle and passionate approach to songwriting has inspired many, and his work provides the listener the opportunity to believe once more that a song can be more than the sum of its parts. If you catch even a phrase of his melodies or the sobering tone of his voice, it waltzes its way into your heart like a letter written, signed, sealed, and delivered just for you.

His debut album Nothing for Me, Please was recorded at Mashed Potato Records in New Orleans with the help of Sam Gelband and Charlie Meyer, Dean’s bandmates in The Sons of Rainier; as well as Mashed Potato regulars Sam Doores, Duff Thompson and Steph Green. The record is a hazy, relaxed daydream – anthems for those who know the sweetness and coldness of quiet moments, the power and the pain of love. Whether you’ve been waiting patiently these many for Dean to release these songs, or you’re just now coming across his work for the first time, the name Dean Johnson, much like his songs, won’t soon leave your mind.

Nothing for Me, Please is out now on Mama Bird Recording Co.

Meet the newest project from : “Whitney Wolfe.”

Created by Steven James Whitney and Jordan Wolfe, this project is the fruit of years of friendship and collaboration in , Sugar Mama, and in the Wolfe House Records studio for many other projects.

The dream with the party focussed bands like DBT and Sugar Mama has always been to use the income consistency of a cover project to support originals projects.

After starting to see early traction for this vision with local projects like Mamasboy and Denver Says, it is finally time to debut Whitney Wolfe.

Jordan’s love for poetry, philosophy, and his unique singing voice is framed and amplified by Steve’s prodigious keys and guitar ability. You can feel the deep trust between the two shaped from years of grappling through life together. The music flowing from their unique friendship will help you laugh, cry, and feel a little less alone in the ups and downs of life.

brings quality musicianship and well-crafted original songs to every performance. Whether gigging with his band TEB or performing solo, Travis is accompanied by an old soul and the spirit of John Prine, Jackson Browne, and Bob Dylan. He has released four albums—Selections (2020), Northwest Americana (2019), Something on the Surface (2018), Remain A Mystery (2013) since his 2007 debut, Somewhere in Between. Travis’s last project, titled “Our Creative States,” saw him traveling to and writing & releasing songs about most of the states in the America. Look for Travis across America or at home in the Pacific Northwest.

Thunderstorm Artis is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist.

Soaring vocals meet dextrous, layered guitar and intimate storytelling that can evoke the poetic lyricism of Passenger in one song before sliding into the wrenching neo-soul of Leon Bridges in another.

Artis was born and raised in a large musical family on the North Shore of Oahu, and it’s easy to find the laid-back vibe of island life effortlessly blended with the real life experiences that inspire his music. As a Season 18 finalist on The Voice, Artis wowed audiences with both his original compositions, including quiet acoustic track “Sedona,” and loving reinterpretations of songs by artists like The Beatles and Louis Armstrong, with John Legend describing his tone as “magical” and Billboard praising his “earnest, uplifting presence.” Artis has played alongside modern icons Jack Johnson and Train, and The Zac Brown Band, as well as toured extensively with his brother, Ron Artis II. He’s also was a featured artist at Bottlerock Music Festival.

Instrumentation alone sets this Toronto-based trio’s Americana sound apart - simply fiddle (John Showman), banjo (Chris Coole), and bass (Max Malone). The spine-tingling harmonies and interchanging lead vocals only bring more magic. They’re releasing their fifth album, a feisty all-original collection (Try To Make It Fly Oct 2023) and touring it to Canada, the US and Europe.

Blackstrap Bluegrass is an acoustic quartet that has called central Oregon home for nearly 25 years. Armed with the 5 String Banjo, Mandolin, Flat picking Guitar and upright bass, their original tunes tell some great local and regional tales while providing new takes on the familiar sounds of Bluegrass, Contemporary Americana, and good ol rock and roll. The band has recently released their 3rd CD entitled Songs to Remember, and continues the tradition of creating songs that reflect stories and music familiar to many.

9/22 and at in Sisters, OR. Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets available at

Indie folk singer/songwriter Haley Heynderickx draws from a wide array of influences, citing her religious Filipino-American upbringing, the folk music of the 1960s and ’70s, jazz radio, and the idiosyncratic acoustic guitar styles of Leo Kottke and John Fahey. All of those ingredients find their way into her music, which pairs deft fingerpicking with lyrics that flirt with levity but hew toward introspection. Her first album I Need to Start a Garden saw release in 2018. Following years of heavy touring, Heynderickx has new music coming this year.

Nick Delffs is not a protest singer. He’s not a gospel singer. Still, subversiveness and spirituality permeate Transitional Phase, his long-awaited second solo album. The product of five years of musical and personal growth that coincided with widespread social upheaval and a global pandemic – just as Delffs navigated first-time fatherhood, losing friends, and approaching his 40s; all weaved these songs.

Now Boise-based, Nick Delffs has been a beloved staple of Pacific Northwest music since emerging with his Portland-based band The Shaky Hands in the mid-2000s. It was clear then, as it is now, that he possessed an authentic—maybe ancient—voice. Transitional Phase is some of his finest and most vulnerable work. As the title suggests, it’s an album about opening oneself up to change, refusing the calcification that comes with age, and opting for wholesale transformation instead.
