LOADS of great activities coming up in libraries - as ever! : )

But two highlights:

Tomorrow 11th - Saturday 13th April, 19.00 - 21.30, The Wasp. Morgan Lloyd Malcolm’s electric new thriller - which asks how far beyond the playground we carry childhood experiences, and the lengths some people will go to in order to come to terms with them... Presented by Swindon-based Darkroom Theatre Company, who specialise in new and exciting theatre with local talent. Next Saturday 20th: Family Fiesta Fun Day with Swindon Dance and Central Library - for families and young people to enjoy fun, FREE activities across both venues. Activities include varied dance tasters and performances for all ages. Book-themed Family Crafts, a Children's Music Corner, Story Times for toddlers, 5-7s and 8-10 year olds. A Family Plant and Share flower and vegetable planting station. Create a Character, Manga and Zine Workshops for 11 - 16 year olds. Plus a free book giveaway for children and adults. And pop up café. Swindon Libraries & Information Service & Artsite & The Post Modern's annual Theatre Square Christmas Market is this Friday 24 November 🎅🎄☕🍰

Central Library and Artsite will be hosting:
• Market stalls selling gifts, art and crafts from local artists
• Gift-wrapping service from
• Pop up café with hot drinks, soup, and cakes
• Mulled wine and mince pies
• Central Library Shop
• Art raffle

Plus free:
• Live music - plus an open mic slot for music and spoken word
• Children’s Music Corner – with percussion, flute, keyboard, ukulele, guitars & more
• Children’s Creative workshop
• Visits from Santa (at 4pm & 5.30)

Didn't manage to drink our way through all 90 beers & ciders at Swindon Beer Festival at Steam - Museum of the Great Western Railway. Might have to go again tomorrow 😁 🍻

The Swindon Shuffle is Swindon's biggest and best showcase of local musical talent! Over 70 acts playing original music – from ambient to blues, to ceilidh to dance, to an ex-XTC… all this weekend.

FREE entry to all venues, with bucket donations and all monies raised going to the wonderful local charity Prospect Hospice.

Venues include The Victoria, The Castle Old Town Swindon, The Tuppenny, The Hop Inn and The Beehive Swindon. Plus live music and DJ fringe events at Baristocats, The Eternal Optimist, Eastcott Community Centre and Prospect Hospice's media shop on Commercial Road.

Join Chris Hyde, Project Manager for The Big Dog Art Trail, and a running enthusiast, to help raise funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice Charity.

Supporters are invited to either kindly donate to help reach the fundraising target, or join Chris in running the trail.

Fantastic evening at Steam - Museum of the Great Western Railway for the launch of the Festival of Tomorrow ☀️🔭

Using data from NASA’s solar Dynamic Observatory, this stunning, rotating six-metre light installation - THE SUN - cycles through 10 weeks of the sun's life in 12.5 minutes. Representing temperatures ranging from 4,500 to 10 million degrees, with smoke effects to mimic the outer atmosphere of our hottest, closest star.

Scale wise, the Earth is a squash ball against this Sun.

Truly awe inspiring.

Catch it at Steam - Museum of the Great Western Railway until Sunday 19th Feb.
