Behind the decks this week we have Angus Curnow.

“For this mix, I wanted to use that organic, ambient feel, mixed with techno and house, dubbing in a little bit of bass to spice it up.”

“I’ve been DJing properly for a little under a year now. It’s been a wonderful adventure to explore new genres and find raw, underground talent.”

“I’m heavily inspired by Ed Kent and Corey and Maryos (Sleep D and BSR Label owners). Their use of organic and quirky sounds always amazes me.”

“I’m in the process of releasing a tape that combines techno, ambient and folk, particularly Celtic, stemming back to my own Scottish / Celtic roots.”

M4TT takes over for this weeks mix.

“In this mix, I decided to put together a mixture of European electro and hard techno. Two genre’s I am familiar with and love to play. Starting off slow and building up in speed and power.”

“I moved to Australia at the start of this year after spending 10 years in Singapore, the place where I discovered and learnt about techno. Singapore has a scene that’s really progressive and open, with artists from all over the world playing at local events every weekend. So this mix means a lot to me because I began mixing in Singapore just about 4 years ago, and that’s where I learnt everything about music that I know now.”

“I get my inspiration from various artists such as Brutalismus 3000, Giant Swan and L.F.T. Their unique styles give me a sense of comfort, allowing me to express a mixture of emotions from curiosity, euphoria and anger.”

“I’ll be playing at Dove Club’s winter series with One Percent in late August, and I’ll be looking to release some remixes and tracks near the end of the year.”

Harry Connell brings a colourful and energetic style to his production and DJ sets, typically infusing elements of 90s rave and breakbeat with a love for old-school grooves.

“This mix features some groovers I've been absolutely loving lately, with tracks from both local and international artists, as well as a couple of my own.”

“I've dabbled in both DJing and production since I was in high school, but over the last 6 or so months I'd say I've really started pushing it a lot more. I have loads of demos and unreleased tracks I plan on getting out this year, so it's definitely a really exciting time for me.”

We welcome Marcus Hamilton to Euphony for a guest mix.

“When recording this mix, there was no specific vibe or formulated track selection that I followed. Just to create a little bit of variety, I aimed to instead incorporate a range of tracks that I’ve lbeen playing out at gigs and had on repeat. There are a few unreleased tracks in there from some local mates too that I wanted to showcase.”

“In terms of my journey, I have been involved with music all my life. I started learning the piano and then decided to make a move to singing, which was short-lived. I started applying my musical knowledge to DJing about a year ago now, with a couple of highlights including headlining events at The Deck in Bendigo, playing .322 and being apart of a Good Friday event with

“I also plan on releasing a few tracks in the near future to expand my sound and influence.”

This weeks guest mix courtesy of .ait

“This mix in particular is one of my favourites I've ever recorded. I took a lot of inspiration from the masterpiece opening track; 'She's Hot Magic' by Pillow Queen, and wanted to take the listener on a playful journey blending progressive house, spacey techno and rolling breaks. In three words, I'd describe this mix as uplifting, feminine and fun."

"I began mixing after moving to Australia from the UK almost four years ago, and fell madly in love with it. I adore curating a radio set; I have always loved working on concepts to fit different moods and radio gives me the freedom to explore different feels and genres that I wouldn't get to play out as much.”

“I've been playing gigs more frequently now, and the more I do it, the more I love it. I supported Cassettes for Kids at ATET last weekend, and I have several intimate parties coming up over winter.”

“I feel like there is a lot to look forward to this year. I'd like to learn how to mix records (my collection is too big to not start soon) and I'm really keen to learn how to produce. I have some exciting international news for December this year which I am thrilled to be a part of.”

Super excited to have .daddy joining us for this weeks guest mix.

“My mix starts off with chill DnB and later evolves into dirty dance floor music with some heavy Techno, Jungle, and House.”

“I never thought I’d make it this far to be honest haha. I started playing around small bars and nightclubs around Naarm when I was 18 and only started producing a few years later.”

“The past two years have been full on which is amazing! My first big show was supporting Skin on Skin on his SOS tour at his show in Eora at the Metro Theatre. Then everything started to catch momentum as I continued to support huge artists I never thought I’d meet including Willaris K and recently KETTAMA.”

“My passion for music is expressed when I produce my tracks. My EP ‘Roots’ explores the sounds of OG Detroit House however, my journey as a producer has led me to create more heavy and fast-paced tracks like ‘Oakley Sunnies’ as it engages audiences more when performing live.”

“My sound at the moment is heavily influenced by the underground scene in the UK. I’ve been listening to a lot of DnB, Jungle, Reggae, Drill, and Grime which translates into the types of tracks I’m choosing to mix in my sets, as well as the overall style in my recent production.
I’m also very into the early 90s-2000s rave music. I love that corny s**t and it still slaps.”

I’m currently working on an EP which will be released later this year featuring very special artists TBA.
I will be headlining the Sydney Fashion Week Afterparty for Sweet Dreams Bitter Reality at the Abercrombie Hotel on 19th May Followed by a co-headline with Fukhed in Canberra at One22.

On 26th May Playing at the Sydney Opera House for Future Classic x Vivid Sydney with International guests Nikki Nair and Martyn Bootyspoon on 27th May.

Good Friday just got better as we bring you a guest mix from Half Cut!

“With this mix, I find myself falling into the same territory; basically playing all the tracks I really love from a variety of influences. This mix isn't meant to be too serious, and are the type of tracks I love to play out, from the more housey opening tracks, some forthcoming tracks and over to some more peak time cuts.”

“I started producing when I was around 16, and was heavily influenced by the music my older Brother was showing me at the time (Luca Lozano, Mall Grab, Hodge, Dj Boring), and started to fall in love with it. From there I started producing and djing regularly, and last year I released on a vinyl only VA on Limousine Dream, and now have an EP coming up on HOMAGE on April 7th, with a chuggy remix from Cromby.”

“The recent EP has a wide range of influences, from Kettama & Cromby, to Gene on Earth, to Roza Terenzi & Desert Sound Colony. I think the EP demonstrates the progression of sound that I’ve enjoyed over the last few years, from more of the boomy big room tracks to some more proggy elements, with Player being the first track made in 2020 and Noise being the last in 2022. The EP was never meant to have a specific genre tied to it per say, as that’s something that I don’t think I want to find myself doing as an artist.”

Potter joins us for a guest mix this week.

“For this mix I put together a bunch of fast and high energy, hard groove and techno as that is the sounds I’ve been going for as of recent.”

“I started djing just over a year ago, I started playing house music but then quickly became obsessed with all things techno, , breakbeat, garage and high energy. In the first year I’ve already ticked some pretty big goals, playing at venues such as XE54, New geurnica and Atet, aswell as two small festival gigs under my belt.”

“I’ve taken major inspiration from djs and producers such as Xclub, Franck, Ollie lishman, Jordan Brando and Sam Alfred.
I have an ep and a couple singles coming this year so keep your eyes peeled for them and I’m also supporting Thelma in may.”

“Both of us have been mixing since midway through 2022. However, our journey as a duo only just began early this year, and we are extremely keen to see where it takes us. For this mix we aimed to show our love for hard groove, playing tracks from artists such as Tommy Holohan, 6SENSE, CULT, and DUTY PAID.”

“Prior to joining the duo, TIGE jumped into the scene late last year, playing at Colour Club on two occasions and releasing his first single "WE ROB BANKS".

“We plan to mix live in the near future, and already have music in the bank that draws inspiration from artists such as Julian Muller, BAUGRUPPE90, and XCLUB.”

Starting off 2023 with a high energy mix from Brent Honey.
“I wanted to showcase what is a relatively untapped genre in Melbourne being 90s Hard Trance.
Every single song in this mix is from the 90s but each of them could be released today and you wouldn’t think twice.
I wanted to show off the timeless nature of these tracks and how forward thinking these producers were.”

“I started DJing in March 2020 after I hosted my first Honey I’m Home music festival in my backyard which raised $10,000 for the bushfires. I was inspired by the way that the DJs were able to make everyone so happy and I set out on my DJing journey the next week.”

“Over the past 3 I’ve been so lucky to play at many of my favoured venues including Xe54, New Guernica, Glamorama, Circus, Pawn & Co, OneSixOne, The Third Day, Warehouse Ballarat, Storyville, Carlton Club, Prince Bandroom, Sooki Lounge, Kewpie and heaps more.”

“As well as DJing, I also run events under .events and ‘Brent Honey & Friends’. Honey I’m Home is a charity events series where we look to make a difference through dance. This has seen us run a DIY festival, takeover circus, the Grand Hotel in Warrandyte (1000+ attendees) and pop up in the city with guests to busk for a charity of their choice.”
Be sure to check this one out.

We are back with a mix from Melbourne duo Furore.

“The vibe we went for our mix was fast paced, something to make you jump and groove really feel the bass and a few cheeky acid lines throughout.”

“Our Journey under Furore began early 2022, as the music scene really grabbed our attention throughout the end of 2021 so we thought we’d make a duo to work together. We have only recently started getting some exposure live, as we played our first set at Xe54 closing the red room in early November which went amazing.”

“Some inspirations would be Crush3d and SWIM a bit earlier on with our journey as they gave us a little advice on what sounds good and what to expect in djing and producing.
We have been working on the music production side of things to pump out some hard hitting and bouncy tracks, hopefully by early 2023.”

Guest mix courtesy of TIGE

“I only started mixing in late March, after coming back from Pitch Music and Arts Festival. Listening to DJ’s/Producers such as STÜM, Sam Alfred, Xclub and FJAAK brought inspiration and an urge to learn how to mix.”

“After a few months of mixing I took on producing which I had touched on previously a few years ago. After many demos and 6 months in the making I finally produced something that I really liked which I will be dropping on December 1st across all platforms. The track ‘WE ROB BANKS’ draws inspiration from artists such as Ben Prophet, GES, Chris Flannigan, KETTAMA, and Xclub.”

“In terms of what’s ahead of me I am just aiming to be playing at as many events and venues as I can and to keep learning new skills when producing my music.”

Lepsi joins us for a guest mix this week.

“I’ve been gigging now for just over a year and producing for around eight months. The journey so far has been pretty wild.” Playing shows at New Guernica, Colour Club, Pawn and Co, Circus and many more venues.

“The aspirations for me are definitely to make a career out of producing. I love to make music and love to play my music live so to be able to do that as a career would be insane.”

“The mix reflects the sound that I’m starting to build for myself. I’ve always been about constant groove in my sets, but also building energy throughout. The set slowly builds in energy, but the recognisable vocals in an unrecognisable edit brings vibe to the set too. When that bass finally hits in the chorus, I want that feeling to be enthralling for the listener, so that’s what I aim for in my sets.”

This week, we welcome Poynstar.

“My Euphony set is a big nod to my inspirations at the moment in Chlär, Julian Muller and MRD. This mix is loaded with hard groove gems and progresses into some euphoric hard techno towards the end of the mix.”

From Geelong’s ever-growing talent pool of DJs and bringing to the table a tasteful and highly danceable sound that is undeniably his own. “I have supported Cassettes for Kids at Bloom, Freak City Frequencies at Captain, and played at a few Captain Sunday Series events.”

We welcome from the states to Euphony this week Samantha Francesca. 🇺🇸 🇦🇺

“I began frequenting dance clubs and festivals in the DC area when I was as young as 18 years old. A trip to Detroit for Movement Festival in 2015 helped me discover true Chicago House and Detroit Techno. Pioneers from said genres such as Paul Johnson and Jesse Saunders came to be huge inspirations for me and led me down the rabbit hole of House Music.”

“Shortly after returning from Detroit, I began teaming up with friends and throwing DIY parties centered around good DJs, good sound systems, and good energy. These parties have all since ended during the pandemic, but I'm working towards starting a new party in the District that showcases local artists.”

“While my roots are in Classic House, I very much enjoy leftfield, experimental tracks as well. During the pandemic, I found comfort in seeking out new artists and new genres. I touch on a lot of that in this mix, while also going back to my roots a bit.” Link in bio.

Welcoming to the Euphony stage this week with a mix full of acid and prog sounding selections.

“My inspiration also comes from how I'm feeling. I love exploring different genres, although I would say I have a more of an introspective taste, leaning into acid, broken beats, experimental, vocals and progressive house. Digging for old school music from the 80s, 90s and 00s is also a passion of mine.

I'm 1/4 of .entertainment , a music collective that has been making its way into Melbourne's local scene over the past four years and I curate as well as a part of relatively new collective which focuses more on rave music, techno and electro”

Returning to the Euphony stage this month is well known producer and dj .music who has made his mark on the Naarm scene in recent months. We are stoked to have him deliver an hour of fun and fiery sounds.

Bringing us something slightly different from his usual, Nickname incorporates UK Funky and Dancehall, coupled with smooth and sultry breaks. This mix is inspired by ome Cutty Ranks/Top Cat binges and a proper rinsing of .frim & .to mixes from Pitch earlier in the year.

Keep an ear out for an unreleased edit in the middle of this mix. Listen via the link in our bio.

We are joined this week by who has graciously provided us with an hour of hard n fast, high energy rave tracks. This very experienced dj was first introduced to mixing 11 years ago, but has really solidified her place in the scene when she moved to London.

Top Hun’s selections have varied over the years as she has experimented with new genres and sounds, but her mixes have continually displayed versatility and creativity in her exploration of club music. Being a dancer herself, Top Hun leans towards the more energetic side of dance music, and this mix is no exception, with hard hitting base lines and euphoric breaks.

“In this mix I play a bunch of stuff I’ve been bumping in the club lately as well as tracks I love but haven’t found a time or place to play it out. I’ve included tracks from the likes of Mallgrab, Shay Whelan and False Persona.”

“My techno journey started when I moved to Melbourne from Queensland about a year ago even though I had been djing for years I only started listening to techno when I moved down and have been obsessed ever since.”

“I have many influences when it comes to music so I find it fun to play different genres or different types of techno in a set. This mix jumps from club rave to trance and near the end of the mix you’ll hear some heavier tunes influenced by Russian techno artists that I listen to. I find that dipping into different genres creates different energies throughout the mix without sacrificing that fast bpm. When I’m not listening to techno I listen to hip hop so you’ll hear a lot of edits and rap samples.”

We’ve got a big one for you this week, coming all the way from Ngunnawal…introducing .128kbps Shell’s journey into dj’ing has been nothing but steady as he has made his mark around Ngunnawal, playing at various clubs, house parties, and making a groovy mix for the great .tables_ podcast. 18/03/2022

We welcome Ish Anja for this weeks guest mix.

“I enjoy the deeper and darker sounds of life - ranging from ambient downtempo and into deeper, raw techno. I have always loved deep techno from Germany and France, and I do feel the appreciation for the hypnotic trance these tracks can take you in is truly lacking in Melbourne. I'd love for that side of music to come alive here, because I think it is just as healing as any other form of electronic music. I wanted these songs to showcase a journey of euphoria and all senses being heightened into altered states of consciousness on the dance floor - with a few more 'fun-ish' tracks at the end. I've loved these songs for a long time, so I felt creating a mix for Euphony was the perfect time to create this journey for their audience as well.”

“I have been involved in DJ'ing and music production for a little while now ever since I moved to Australia from the US. I started my journey in music about four years ago, which was when I discovered I wanted to work in the music industry. I had started off in artist management and now I have moved into music marketing/artist coaching, but I still always really felt there was a big part still missing to the equation - which was realising that I truly just missed the presence of creativity in my life and being able to create. When I picked up DJ'ing, I knew that it was a very big piece that was starting to fit and it made everything make so much more sense, and eventually I fell my way into electronic music production as many producers naturally do.”

“I am truly forever fascinated by the sounds of KAS:ST. Their songs captivate such questioning and longing for a deeper understanding as to who we are as a collective of humans on this planet, and what we are meant to do here in this lifetime. I find their sounds so unique.”
