It’s a beautiful day to coordinate a wedding on Beaver Island! Thanks to Harbour Bodega & Bodega Catering, Whiskey Point Brewing Co. & Shamrock Bar & Restaurant for partnering with us to give the bride and groom the day they have envisioned. 👰 🤵♂️
This was my fourth time designing an event at Holy Cross Hall. In the past I found myself using neutral and subdued colors that I felt would complement the space. In the end, I was never really excited about how it all came together. But this year I took a less serious approach & went for something totally different and I was in L🩷🧡🩷 with how it turned out. Bold, bright & fun fit the vibe of this year’s fundraising event for TUNES. Thank you to the set up crew for trusting the process and helping to create an incredible backdrop for this special night.

Hard to believe we are just a week away from Homecoming. Its going to be a great weekend with a busy schedule! The double elimination tournament at Bud McDonough Memorial Ballfield starts Friday afternoon. The 47th annual tournament kicks off at 1:00 pm with Hilary Palmer singing the National Anthem followed by Kevin "Big Dude" Swanson throwing out the first pitch. Kevin, owner of Charlevoix's Swanson K&D, has attended over 45 Homecoming tournaments, has sponsored a team in 30 of them and played for 25. We look forward to seeing Big Dude on the field again!
🎶 Following the last ball game of Friday, (approximately 7 PM-11PM) the Mike Perdue Memorial Concert begins with a fun night of music and dancing to the Doghouse Boodlers. Thanks to Christie Heller Perdue and Beaver Island Chamber for sponsoring this event in memory of Homecoming's biggest fan. (Please remember there will be no driving in and out of the park at this time, so plan to park in the street. Bring your chairs & bring your cooler.)
The tournament continues on Saturday starting at 10. Concessions will be available all day by the BI Sports Boosters.
🎶 Head to the Beachcomber at 6 pm for traditional Beaver Island music & fun with Cindy, Danny, Dudley & friends
🎶 At 7:30, the Bob Marshall Band will be playing at the Community Center. This band won the Will Rogers Vocalist Award and are well known for their “Cowboy Rock n Roll.” BYOB and dancing shoes for a fun night in the harbor!
🎶 Also on Saturday evening at Circle M you can rock out with Paul Lamb & Friends.
Sunday is the famous Homecoming Chicken Dinner! From 4:30-7:30 at Holy Cross Hall, you can eat in or dine out. Adults $19 and Children $13. All proceeds benefit Holy Cross Catholic Church.
And finally, don't forget your Basket of Joy tickets! This year's package has $500 cash, a week stay at the Convent and lots of booze, airline tickets and Beaver Island Swag. $10 each, 6 for $50 and you can purchase through Mary Palmer or Teresa McDonough.
Thanks to all the volunteers who work so hard to keep our Homecoming traditions going! Let's make it a weekend to remember!
