“We’ll just remember the moments!” → The truth? Memories fade faster than you think, and your future generations won’t have the luxury of ‘just remembering.’

The real costs are lost stories, missing voices and moments that can’t be relived. I’m going through that as I type this. My children won’t miss what they don’t remember, but my heart grieves for them. With just a little bit more time, they’d have pictures and videos of a connection they may never get another opportunity to make.

But, I did get to recover some of what I lost in childhood through them. My grandmother once had a photo of me in a similar outfit to the ones my children are wearing in these slides. We lost that picture of me and much more when Katrina devastated New Orleans. Shortly after my daughter was born, I booked a session with and we were able to recreate that faint memory I have of the picture of me.

I’ll never get all we lost back, but what I have now is hope for a better future. Everything I do is with the faith in hope in that truth that someday, everything is going to be better.

Welcome to the Fret Fam!!

Bailey & Will have kicked the doors down for the 2026 books! I typically start filming weddings at the end of March, so they will be my earliest in the year wedding ever! A little snow will make for a romantic adventure at The Ritz Charles, a gorgeous wedding venue that doesn’t even need much help to be a breathtaker on it’s own!! Stay tuned for their love story!

One Month of Fret & Frame 🎉

It’s been one month since Fret & Frame officially launched, and I just want to take a second to soak it all in. In just a few weeks, I’ve had the privilege of telling love stories, preserving legacies, and connecting with incredible couples and families who trust me to document their most treasured moments.

This rebrand wasn’t just a name change—it was a declaration of what I believe in: that every story is worth telling, every fleeting moment deserves to be remembered, and that nostalgia isn’t just something you feel—it’s something you can hold onto forever.

It’s about the way Mom and Dad’s voices shake when they give their toast.
It’s about Grandma and Grandpa swaying to the music, lost in a memory of their own wedding day.
It’s about Uncle Steve being... well, Uncle Steve—because even with life’s hardships, he still knows how to light up a room.

It’s about capturing the people we love—really seeing them—so that years from now, we can feel their laughter, hear their voices, and remember them exactly as they were.

Because one day, these moments will be all that’s left. And preserving them—that’s what we do.

I LOVE filming at JPS Regions.

The place is gorgeous. The floor plan is unique. There are indoor and outdoor options. No matter where you go, there’s a photo op. Have you seen what their team does with the floral design?! Not only that, but the staff made sure that the couple, their family and even us vendors were taken care of and had what we needed. It was an exceptional experience. The cherry on top was filming everyone partying on the rooftop.

I cannot wait to get into this venue .. again, and again, and again!!

If something happens to me while she’s young, I want to leave enough behind for her to know that I am doing all of this for her. I want to leave enough behind for her to know who I am, to have my voice, to have my off the wall mannerisms and my sense of humor. I do this because she is an extension of my history as well as being the future of my lineage. That’s one of my deeper motivations for being a filmmaker.

What I hope to pass down to her is that stories matter. People matter. None of this human experience is inconsequential.

Your joy matters.
Your pain matters.
Your success matters.
Your failure matters.
Your life matters.
Your death matters.

You have no idea how much of a blessing you can be to the next person when you share that struggle that gripped you or that pain that overwhelmed you. You have no idea how much you can inspire others with your victory or your determination to not quit despite your struggle.

It’s one of the things that filming reminds me over and over. The idea that we are born without purpose, meaning or significance is a lie. This is all by design. It’s all very intentional. I hope that my art points my daughter to that truth and to her inherent worth.

You don’t know it yet, but you can spare yourself the grief I live with.

Imagine having it all ripped away from you. All of your childhood pictures, the people you loved, the places you lived — everything. It’s just all gone. What would you want to keep? I didn’t have a choice. I didn’t see it coming. Unfortunately, if this is your fate, neither will you.

It’s my job to think about that for you.

If we work together, I ask you a lot of questions about who and what you love. I’m not doing it just to pry. I’m doing it because I want you to have all those things that I so deeply wish I could revisit.

It’s my job to document how you look at your loved ones. It’s about how you touch them. It’s those unique connections and expressions of love between parents, friends and partners that I strive to get to the heart of.

This job is great. I’ve been a part of so many special moments. So many of you have wept tears of joy in front of me.

This job is also stressful. Sometimes, I’m pulling all the levers and then some and nothing is happening besides me losing money and my mind. Sometimes, it gets so hard to make ends meet that I just want to quit.

But... it gives me great joy to take risky shots because it would be a cool perspective if I got under the groomsmen for the groom toss. Or maybe I am in a higher place than I should be with all the equipment I carry. Sometimes the drive is just as long as the wedding or documentary.

It’s redemption every time I get to tell another person’s story.
It’s redemption every time I get to give you something I can never have.

Your story matters to me much more than you may realize.
Once you agree to hire me, your story becomes a part of mine.

I can’t tell you how much that means to me.
