Since they were 15, these two have been inseparable — growing up side by side, weathering life’s highs and lows, and now standing before their closest family and friends to say “I do.”

This wedding at Tinker House Events in Indianapolis was more than a celebration — it was a union of hearts that had been intertwined since adolescence. This film was built on tears, laughter, and music from the legends that shaped their story.
I won’t say who those artists are just yet, as that part of their film is a surprise just for them. 😉

Here’s a few screen grabs from the night!!

One epic showcase.
One amazing couple.
One breathtaking venue.
One year ago.

The crazy thing about this is I wasn’t sure I wanted to share it. I didn’t think it was good enough. I showed the couple and they liked it. Then the folks over at Regions saw it and they loved it! And then other people started watching it and it ended up getting much more exposure than I anticipated.

I’m still learning to trust my instincts.
I’m still learning to fully believe in this the way I should.

Guiseppi and Kayla planned two weddings in under a month so that Kayla’s father, Steve, could witness his daughter marry the love of her life.

The first was a beautiful ceremony in Monrovia.

The second took place the very next day at Maple Park Village — a deeply intimate gathering at the hospice where Steve was being cared for.

This wedding film captures love in its purest form — the kind that moves mountains, rearranges timelines, and cherishes every fleeting moment.

The first time I went to this venue, I had a bad experience. As I was leaving to film, I saw my boy standing in the window with his face and hands pressed against it. He was barely a year old at the time. That made it so difficult to leave to do my job. It was a hard and emotional day for me.

Four years later, I finally got booked at Swan Lake again. He did the same thing in the window. This time, his little sister joined him. The sight of the two of them side by side watching me as I left gave me clarity, drive and focus. Fatherhood is a huge driving force behind what I do. I am so thankful for my family.

Hidden Gem Alert!!!

This wedding holds a special place in my heart! Not only is this couple super sweet, the venue they chose, Gathering Acres, was breath taking. Everywhere we went, there was a gorgeous photo op! The sunset was something photographers and videographers dream about! The spotlight they had for their first dance was something straight out of a movie. It was all things captivating, romantic and epic!

I also had the privilege of working with the amazing for the first time on this day. She’s amazing!

If you’re in the Lafayette, Indiana area and you’re looking for somewhere to tie the knot, this place NEEDS to be on your short list!

Happy 1st Anniversary to Alexander and Evalin!

First of all, I want to thank those of you the left comments, sent DMs, called me or expressed concern for my well being over the past month or so. Even just liking the post I put up about struggling was encouraging, so a big THANK YOU to all of you. I appreciate y’all.

I won’t get into the weeds about what happened publicly, but I’d be glad to talk privately with you if you want to know. What I can say, and this is important for your marriages too, is take care of your mind. Sounds like common sense, right? But no, really. Take some intentional steps to sheild yourself from the chaos of this world.

There is SO MUCH POWER in simply unplugging. We are so bombarded with media designed to stimulate us, it’s so easy to forget the warmth of true face to face interaction with people. So much of what we see everyday is screaming “danger” at us. We’re being constantly exposed to things that we’re supposed to be angry about, fearful about or sorrowful about. Good news doesn’t get a lot of clicks. That’s just the reality of the world we live in.

I want to tell more good stories. I want to remind you of the humanity of your fellow man in ways that are not popular or common. If I HAVE to be plugged in for work, this is how I’m going to move forward and continue to heal.

This is the part where I need your help. If you have a good relationship with your dad, I would love to take you and your family out for a FREE 20 minute portrait session. We’ll take some pictures of y’all and then we’ll do something special for him. I’ll record you and your loved ones sharing the impact that he’s made on your lives. Then, I’ll have him share how much being a father has meant to him. You’ll get free pictures and a featurette about your dad.

Here’s the catch. If you want to do this, you MUST get your session on the calendar within the month of October. I’ll do this for a few families before I have to add some sort of monetary value on it to make up for the time and resources I’m investing into this. Looking forward to seeing you out there.

Seeking real moments and real connections.

It’s what I’m about when I’m taking pictures. I love a more candid approach. Looking at the photo of Sam and his dad, I saw what they were doing and moved them to the window as it was happening to get some dramatic lighting on them.

These are a selection of some of those candid moments and a couple of my favorites from this gallery. My absolute favorite wedding photo I’ve ever taken is of Rochellie resting her head on Sam. Completely impromptu and I had no idea I was going to do it (or how much I’d love it!!).

If at all possible, it’s a go to of mine these days. Got a couple more surprises from this gallery coming. Stay tuned!!

👉 I lost my home, my city, and my sense of identity in Hurricane Katrina. This is the story I’ve never told until now.

I’m officially bringing my story to life in a way I’ve never shared before. Katrina Chronicles (working title 😉) is my autobiography-in-motion — part documentary, part visual diary, part love letter to my children about the city and tragedy that shaped me.

From growing up in New Orleans 🌃, to surviving Hurricane Katrina 🌊, to finding new identity and purpose in the middle of the country— this project is equal parts raw, nostalgic, and redemptive.

I’m partnering with local artists 🎶, storytellers, and musicians to make sure this isn’t just my voice — it’s a chorus of the culture and people that love me.

✨ This is just the beginning. Swipe through for a sneak peek, and stay tuned for more updates as this project unfolds.

➡️ What’s one thing you’d ask me about my time growing up in New Orleans? Drop it below — your question might make it into the doc.

20 years to the day that I was forced out of life as I once knew it.

Truthfully, I was ready to leave. I was desperate to find something different, to find my place in the world... but not like that. I had some things to accomplish first. I had just got my foot in the door to living out my childhood dream. But, just like that, the door was slammed in my face and home was all but washed away.

I didn’t know what I was doing or where I was going. All I knew was I wasn’t going back. I never imagined I’d be sitting at this desk 20 years later. Getting married, having kids, my own home and my own business were the furthest things from my mind. I just wanted to survive somehow.

There’s so much I can say, I don’t even know where to begin. Relationships fell apart, a person I could only describe as a big brother (we were not blood related) unalived himself and then Katrina struck... all in a two week span.

I was a whirlwind of confusion, devastation, excitement and determination all at once.

“Where are my friends? Did they make it out? Are they even alive? Why did this happen? Was this judgement? Where am I going? Who even am I? What is the meaning of anything at all? Where is home now? Where do I truly belong?”

These questions rang through my mind nightly. It was maddening. Not being able to answer all those questions caused me to unravel down the line.. but that story will come another day.

All I can really say right now is I’m grateful for the few pictures that still exist from my childhood. Many of us don’t have anything to look back on at all.

The storm took everything—but the questions still remain. What would you want to know from someone who lived through it?

This docuseries will span a lot of ground—but it all begins where my story began: growing up in New Orleans, and surviving the storm that changed everything, Hurricane Katrina.

Here’s where you come in:
If you could sit across from someone who lived through a natural disaster… what would you ask?

Would it be about the days before the storm, when life still felt normal?
About what survival looked like in the aftermath?
Or maybe about what it means to rebuild a life when the place that raised you is no longer the same?

Drop your questions below. ⬇️ They may just find their way into the film.

This story is mine—but I want you to be part of how it’s told. The mic is yours. What do you wanna talk about?
