What inspires me in filmmaking:

There are three main things I draw from when I’m making my films.

One of those things is losing everything I had ever known to Katrina. That event is so pivotal to all the changes in my life, that about everything I do is tied to it. I’m always asking myself, “If I were in the shoes of the person I’m filming, what is it that I’d want to keep if I lost everything?”.

The second thing I draw from is the loss of a close friend. I look at the relationships of the people I’m filming. I watch how they look at each other, how they relate to each other, how they speak to one another and things like what laughter is like when they’re together. There’s a special intangible there that’s subtly different for every relationship.

The third thing I draw from is the personality of the person or people I’m filming. What is it that drives this person to do what they do? What do they love? Who do they love? How do they like to express themselves? What is the story behind that?

I’m the type of filmmaker that likes to dig deep. I’m for those that are willing to be vulnerable. Selfishly, it’s little pieces of hearts that I get to keep for myself. You give me a little bit of yours and give some of mine right back to you in the art that we create together. I really do love filming and taking pictures of people.

✨ Chasing Dreams, Telling Stories ✨

For years, I’ve poured my heart into capturing other people’s stories—now, it’s time to tell my own. My dream project is a documentary about my journey: from growing up in New Orleans, to surviving Katrina, to finding hope and purpose in places I never expected. This project is deeply personal, and it’s a story I’m telling not just for myself, but for my kids, for my family, and for anyone who has ever felt lost in the storms of life.

This isn’t just a film—it’s a legacy. It’s my way of documenting the messy, beautiful, faith-filled road that led me here and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Every time I sit down to work on this project, I’m reminded of why I fell in love with storytelling in the first place.

I can’t wait to share this piece of my heart with all of you. Stay tuned—big things are coming. 🎥

Sometimes, the journey takes an unexpected detour. With the roads looking more like an Olympic bobsled track, we’ve had to push back the start of filming to January 27th.

While I’m bummed about the delay, safety comes first, and I’ll use this extra time to fine-tune everything to make sure this story gets the care and attention it deserves.

The countdown’s almost over, but God might have other plans. This is poetic. All those years ago, Katrina jeopardized my plans. Now it’s happening again. With snow on the way and travel looking tricky, it’s a toss-up whether we’ll be rolling cameras tomorrow or sipping hot cocoa and rescheduling.

Either way, the story isn’t stopping—it’s just waiting for the perfect moment. Stay tuned, because whether it’s tomorrow or the next clear day, we’re diving in soon. This is too important not to get just right.

⏳ 2 days to go.

This project isn’t just a film—it’s a piece of my heart, a legacy in the making. If something were to happen to me, I want my kids to know who their dad was. Not just the highlights, but the struggles, the losses, the mistakes and the reasons I fight so hard to create and connect.

I want them to understand where I came from, the dreams that drive me, and the love I carry for them in everything I do.

This is more than an interview—it’s my story. And in two days, I start capturing it.
