Well friends, it's about that time. Unless you are one of my June or July couples, I'm signing off from anything business related for a month or two to soak in some sweet summertime newborn snuggles and time together as a new family of four. Can't wait to meet our daughter in a few days (or less, say what full moon) and I will talk to my fall couples in just a bit!

Some pretty spring things and a quick update ✨️💓

(Almost) 32 weeks has me in hard core nesting mode and simultaneously some days almost unable to walk 🤣🤪 my April weddings are looking perfect and just about wrapped up. Our one May wedding is not far behind. June weddings are coming up next to be finalized! Then it's maternity leave time before we hit the amazing fall season we have planned 😍 April 27 will be my last hurrah in person prior to leave and my lovely ladies will be executing the rest of our spring/early summer weddings for me.

We could take on one more wedding this November - if you've been on the verge or know someone - feel free to send them my way - but I'll be honest I'm not hard pressed to put a lot of energy into actively filling the spot. If the perfect couple comes along - that's amazing - and if they don't - 🤷🏼‍♀️ just sharing some real talk

Anyways. I'm pretty quiet on here but just focusing on prepping our home for new life, soaking up the last few weeks of our only child (who also has a birthday next month!) and enjoying perfecting every detail for my spring and summer weddings without the added stress of marketing for the rest of 2024 - and you know what, THATS OK!!! It's OK for me to take a break. Sit back and enjoy my life as it is now and as it grows in the next few weeks.

I'm watching you all do the dang thing. Keep up the grind. I'll be here sporadically posting cute things from 2023 and can't wait to see these spring weddings flood my feed. Best of luck as the season really amps up, and I'll see yall in the fall 😎

Hi there, I’m Erin. I am the owner of Rockfish Valley Events by Design, which is home-grown in the heart of Nelson County. Nestled in and around the Blue Ridge Mountains, there isn’t a more beautiful place to hold a special event. My home is here within the Valley, so I have a unique familiarity with the businesses and services provided here in the region.

By working with me, you will have an organized planner with strong leadership skills. I have a background as an Emergency Room RN, so I thrive in unpredictable situations. I planned my own wedding, and I know the unpredictable often happens. I know that having people assist you with planning is something you don’t always realize you need until you are overwhelmed with the task. I value small businesses and emphasize using local services throughout the county and surrounding locations to help you have a perfect day.

Whether you’re planning the wedding of your dreams or hosting a private event, regardless of size, there is a venue and vendors here that will be perfect for you. Rockfish Valley Events by Design is here to connect you. I’m here to make things less stressful for YOU. Let’s get planning!
