NYSC AND THE DSSS HAVE BEEN VERY GOOD PARTNERS.....Director

The State Director Department for State Security Services Ebonyi state,Mr Henry Adejoh has described the relationship existing between NYSC and SSS as very cordial and good over the years .He said this when he received the new state coordinator of NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,who was in his office for a courtesy call.He assured her of a more robust collaboration and partnership, noting that he was equally new , having arrived the state three weeks ago.

Mrs Oladeinde Foluke earlier,has disclosed to the Director,that she was in his office to introduce herself and to discuss matters concerning the security of corps members in the state .She thanked him for the collaboration so far. Mrs Oladeinde used the opportunity to raise some issues concerning the corps members' security and the issues raised were discussed extensively.She thanked them for the warm reception accorded her and her team, while soliciting for stronger relationship between the two organisations.
The meeting was capped up with a group photograph .

BE LAW ABIDING ACCOMODATING AND DILIGENT,MRS OLADEINDE ADMONISHES CORPS MEMBERS.

As the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course comes to a close,the state coordinator NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has admonished the corps members, to be law abiding, accommodating, diligent,to accept the people of their host community,respect their culture and to mentor the young ones .In her words, "remember you are the mirror through which the world sees NYSC".

Mrs Oladeinde in her address to the corps members during the closing ceremony, congratulated them for a successful orientation course,while commending them for high display of great oneness, diligence,
discipline , commitment and good conduct during the orientation course.

The special guest of honor,who is also the state coordinator, urged them to accept their postings in good fate, adding that ,they should go out there and contribute their quota to the development of their host community and Ebonyi state at large .

She called on them to remain good ambassadors of their families,NYSC and the nation and to shun any act capable of breaching the peace and unity of the nation ,but to promote development,peace unity and integration.Among other things she said.

In Ebonyi state ,a total of 1955 corps members,made up of 999 male and 956 female ,passed out from the orientation course.The highlight of the low key passing out ceremony, was a beautiful parade performance put up by the corps members.To God be the glory.

MAKE USE OF THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY OFFERED BY SAED TO BETTER YOUR LIVES ..SC.

As the SAED in- camp Hands -on -Training for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course exercise ends in camp Ebonyi today,the state coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,has advised the corps members to make use of the golden opportunity offered by the NYSC SAED to better their lives and that of the society.

Declaring the event closed,Mrs Oladeinde, congratulated them for a successful SAED in - camp training, adding that, they should use the information gathered during the lecture and the training received to launch themselves into the world of business,thereby becoming Entrepreneurs and employers of labour rather than job seekers.

She urged them to register with their trainers.so that they can continue with the post - Camp training for perfection in their chosen skills.
She disclosed that management is expanding partnership with organization for funding options..

Mrs Oladeinde, thanked the trainers for work very well done , praying God to reward them .The highlights of the event was the Unity Bank Corprenurship Challenge by the corps members and at the end of the competition,three Corps members emerged as winners and they were instantly rewarded with the sum of five hundred thousand to the first position, three Hundred thousand to
the second position and 200 thousand to the third position, while consolation prizes were given to the rest of them that took part in the competition. Inspection of SAED products and the exhibition by the state coordinator and her team also took place .

DO NOT JOKE WITH THE THINGS YOU HAVE LEARNT UKONU ADMONISHES CORPS MEMBERS .

The Retired Director of the NYSC ,Mrs Nnenna Ukonu, has admonished the corps members of Ebonyi camp, to always hold tenaciously to what they were able to learn in the camp and not to joke with it, especially the SAED program, emphasising that there is so much to be done to make it in life .She used the advent of the Ghana people into Nigeria as an example to buttress her point.She explained that the skilled Ghanaians taught Nigerians some of their crafts such as the Ghana weaving and making of the Ankara material.

Mrs Ukonu ,who was addressing the corps members, during a motivational lecture, advised them to find time to learn one or more skills ,to earn a living ,than walking the streets in search of unavailable jobs She told them the story of her daughter,who is a Barrister and a successful fashion designer . The retired Director, encouraged them to add value to themselves by learning a skill ,which according to her, will qualify them to compete for the few available white collar Jobs .

In conclusion,she urged them to learn more about "Data Protection" for a better and fulfilled wealth creation and self reliance.

Earlier,the state coordinator,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has warmly and formally welcomed her to the camp .The lecture was quite motivating indeed and corps members were highly excited to have listened to her.Corps camp Director,Elisha Okon ,gave a vote of thanks, on behalf of all the corps members.

CHRISTMAS CAROL CAMP EBONYI IN PICTURES

In the mood of the season of yuletide , Ebonyi camp organized a Christmas Carol for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course exercise. The event was in form of inter platoons competition and at the end of the sonorous Christmas songs night , Platoon 6 emerged the best voices in camp Ebonyi, platoons 2 and 3 mentained their positions as they took second and third positions respectively.

Presenting the gifts to the winners,the state coordinator, NYSC Ebonyi,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke congratulated them for winning,while appreciating others for good outing as well .She encouraged them to always take part in such programs, for no one knows what good may come out of it .

FOOTBALL AND VOLLEYBALL FINALS: PLATOON 6 WINS IN BOTH .

As the state coordinator NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke declares the sporting activities for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course closed today,platoon 6 has made history,as they won both games, taking away the trophies.Platoons 4 and 3 clinched the second positions in both games , while platoon 9 won third positions in both games as well.

Presenting the trophies to the winners,the state coordinator congratulated them for winning,while encouraging those that lost to take it in good fate.

NYSC CULTURAL CANIVAL , CELEBRATING OUR RICH CULTURAL HERITAGE IN OUR DIVERSITY... Oladeinde.

The state coordinator NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has said that the NYSC cultural CANIVAL is a way of celebrating our rich cultural heritage in our diversity.She made this statement today,while declaring the cultural CANIVAL for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course open in Ebonyi camp.

The state coordinator reiterated the need for us to remain as one indivisible nation , despite our differences in culture and ethnic backgrounds She therefore, encouraged the corps members to relax ,enjoy and to put up their best as they display the various culture assignmed to them

Earlier, the head of Man 0 War ,Mr Dan Okereke,,has presented his introductory address. He welcomed all to the event while wishing all platoons a good outing .Among the culture showcased by the platoons include: IDOMA, EFIK,HAUSA,YORUBA,IGBO,URHOBO,FULANI,IBIBIO,BENNI and TIV.
The platoons performance was beautiful, highly entertaining, colourful, depicting high level of creativity. At the end of the day ,platoon 7 that showcased Fulani culture, carried the day, followed by platoons 4 and 9 that came second and third respectively.

The event featured other side attractions, such as , display by the sanitation committee, Sack, egg and blindfold race.
The highlight of the carnival, was the cutting of the Unity Cake ,which was distributed to all the corps members through their platoon leaders .

NCC EDUCATES CORPS MEMBERS ON CONSUMER RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Nigerian Communication Commission today, gave lecture on the rights of and responsibilities of telecommunications consumers. In her lecture, Mrs Angela Onyia of the NCC zonal office Enugu, explained the function of NCC as the independent National regulatory Authority for the Telecommunication industry in Nigeria. She told the corps members that as consumers of Telecommunications services they deserve to know their rights and responsibilities.

In her lecture she took the corps members through; Consumer Bill of Right, Responsibilities of a consumer, Consumer obligations to service providers, service providers obligations to consumers, subscribers identification module,(SIM) card registration, Dos and Donts of sim card registration, mobile number portability, sim replacement tit bits, sim swap, cyber security, rights of consumer protected under the law, procedures for lodging complains, data roll over and data depletion, health concerns and lots more.

At the end of the lecture, corps members were given contact numbers to enable them contact NCC for any complaints, Call NCC free toll line (622).
The NCC did not only come to lecture, they also came with some goodies for the corps members and camp officials, Such as, books, free soft drinks, gifts for some key camp officials and fastest finger games of free recharge cards.

The state coordinator of NYSC Ebonyi Mrs Oladeinde Foluke expressed her deep appreciation to NCC for finding time to come to educate the corps members and for all the goodies they brought, she prayed God to lead them safely back to their destination.

INTER-PLATOONS DRILLS COMPETITION; PLATOON 4 LIFTS THE TROPHY.

As the 2023 Batch C Stream 11 orientation course ,Inter- platoons drills competition takes place today, platoon 4 has lifted the trophy,for coming tops. Platoons 9 and 10 took second and third positions respectively, while platoon 2 carried the big wooden spoon for coming last.

In her remarks, the state coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, congratulated all the platoons for putting up impressive performance, she therefore declared all of them winners.
The winners were presented with trophies and cash prizes.

The state coordinator NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,has assured Muslim corps members of Ebonyi camp ,of her love and care for them .Mrs Oladeinde made this known to them today,when she paid a visit to them, in the mosque .

Speaking, the mother general NYSC Ebonyi,told them that she is new in Ebonyi and since she arrived the state ,she has discovered that, Ebonyi people are peaceful and hospitable,she therefore enjoined them always to be peaceful, anywhere they may be, noting that ,God created everyone the way we are and we should live in love as one people

She advised them to be empathic,to always weigh the options of whatever action they want to take in life ,whether it is good or bad and to always do it ,if it is good .She admonished them to be just and fair in all they do and to be at peace with one another.Mrs Oladeinde told them to always call her for good news and the ladies to be good mothers and to take care of their husbands when they marry .She prayed for them .

The Amir, Abdulmalik Jafar ,in a vote of thanks appreciated the SC for the visit, describing her as a detribalized Nigerian and a mother in deed .They prayed for her.The high light of the visit was a group photograph of the Muslim faithfuls and the state coordinator and a presentation of a token to them .

YOU MUST PLAN WELL TO SUCCEED IN LIFE NWATARALI CHARGES CORPS MEMBERS.

The Director SAED ,NYSC DHQ .Abuja,Mrs Nwatarali Ngozi D,has charged the 2023 Batch C stream 11 corps members of Ebonyi camp to always plan well if they want to succeed in life .Mrs Nwatarali who was in camp Ebonyi for a one day routine visit,gave this charge while addressing the corps members.The wealth creation Ambassador, posed a question to the corps members on why they are here and they gave her various reasons for being in the NYSC ,which included,It is an Obligation to contribute my quota to the national unity, development and integration.She therefore challenged them to make impact and to contribute in achieving the NYSC 3Rs ,which are , Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Reconstruction.

She went ahead to tell them how they can make impact through ,the CDS, SAED , adding that the SAED content has been reviewed and more skills added to enable them have wide range of skills to choose from.She encouraged them to be IT complaint ,which she said will assist them in life.Mrs Nwatarali enumerated some funding options,which included BOI loan ,NNPC Kudi Mata grant ,need for good business proposal to access the funding options.She advised them to make good use of good opportunity they have in the NYSC to become better people in life .

The SAED Director however warned them against, embarking on frivolous journeys,expecially night journeys,to be security conscious,to be law abiding and report promptly and
settle down in their places of primary assignment, Among other things she said. She prayed for them and wished them well.

TAKE UP ANY JOB CHALLENGE FOR SELF AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT . Oladeinde.

As the second steering committee meeting was held today,the state coordinator NYSC Ebonyi, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has charged the heads of committees and assignments to always take up job challenges and not to shy away from them, for self and career development.Mrs Oladeinde informed the house how she built her career and developed herself by taking up any job challenge that came her way, growing up as a public servant, which has enhanced her capacity today as a state coordinator, adding that all is for career and self development.

The state coordinator commended them for excellent performance which has contributed to the progress made so far in the ongoing camping exercise.She encouraged all hands to be on deck ,till we sing our victory song at the end of the program.

Heads of collaborating Agencies and assignments, reported on the activities of their committees and any challenge there in .
The RO I and the camp Director,in their separate remarks, appreciated the committee members for the support, cooperation and the synergy displayed so far, urging them to sustain the tempo till the end .In conclusion the state coordinator used the opportunity to inform the meeting that the Director (SAED) will be visiting the camp tomorrow,calling on all to start preparation in earnest to give her a befitting outing. The meeting which commenced with the NYSC Anthem,was called to a close with the National pledge.

ANKARA NIGHT LIVE IN EBONYI CAMP.

Nysc Ebonyi camp social activities for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course exercise, received a boost by the addition of Ankara night to the myriads of social activities for the camp

Though it was the first of it's kind ,the event was colorful, interesting, depicting high creativity and aesthetics by the corps members.
At the end of the event,, 6 platoon carried the day and the contestants were crowned as Mr and Miss Ankara by the state coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke. Platoons 8 and 7 came second and third respectively.

The Ankara night is to showcase the beauty and encourage the wearing of Africans Ankara dress.It was indeed a worthwhile night out for both the corps members and camp officials.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL AND MR MACHO EMERGE IN CAMP EBONYI

The most Beautiful Girl and Mr Macho for the 2023 Batch C Stream 11 Orientation Course emerge in camp Ebonyi.They are corps member Akindele Arewa from platoon 1 ,as miss NYSC and Mr Macho, corps member Aluko Oluwaferanmi Adedokun from platoon 4.Corps members Edwards Racheal from platoon 9 and Abdulkarim Idris from platoon1,were the first runner up and corps members Umejuru Victory from platoon 3 and Imo Benjamin from platoon 2, were second runner up for both miss NYSC and Mr Macho .

MIND THE GAP INTER PLATOON DEBATE: PLATOON 10 CARRIES THE DAY.

Today Mind the Gap Digital on boarder organized an inter platoon Debate on the topic, "Mentoring Secondary School Leavers (NEET) in Your Host Community, A Call to Leadership".
After the much heated debate platoon 10 clinched the 1st position and platoon 3 and 6 made it to the second and third position respectively.

Presenting the cash prize and certificate to the winners,the state coordinator Mrs Oladeinde Foluke congratulated the participants for their wonderful performance, she wished all corps members well as they go to the host communities to mentor young school Leavers that are not in Employment, Education or Training.

EBONYI CORPS MEMBERS SENSITIZED ON FIRE SAFETY

Mr Emeka Ogah, a chief fire man and head of fire service on camp, today sensitized the 2023 Batch C stream 11 Corps Members of Ebonyi State on fire safety.
Talking briefly, Mr Emeka described fire as a good servant and a bad master, in the sense that without fire we won't cook and if we don't eat we die, and as a bad master in the sense that, when there is fire outbreak, it can lead to loss of life and property.

He went on to explain the causes of fire outbreak as:
Careless use of candles in the house, Electrical fault, Careless use of gas cookers without gas detectors, not allowing enough ventilation in the kitchen, before putting the gas cooker on, Overloading socket with strong electrical appliances.etc.

Mr Emeka gave out to the Corps Members, fire fighting tips in case of any fire outbreak, which include but not limited to:
i. When caught on fire, Rolll on the floor severely for the fire to go out.
ii. Fire outbreak at home, move out of the house crawling on your stomach so as not to inhale the smoke which kills faster than the fire
iii. Call fire service
iv. Get a wet blanket to kill the fire
V. Avoid passing electrical wires under the carpet.

He finally demonstrated to the corps members the use of the wet blanket and the fire extinguisher in fighting fire outbreak. Corps Members were also invited to praticalize the demonstration.

NOA LECTURES CORPS MEMBERS ON EBONYI CULTURAL VALUES

Mrs Chinyere Okogwu, an Assistant Director with the National Orientation Agency( NOA), today, took the 2023 Batch C stream 11 corps members of Ebonyi state, on the cultural values of the state.

In her lecture, she defines cultural values as the acceptable norms, beliefs, virtues that are particular to a group of people, this acceptable values according to her include Language, age grade system, greetings, respect, marriage ceremony, traditional institutions, market days, dress code and so on.

She took her time to explain to the corps members how these values work in Ebonyi State, she urged them therefore to learn these cultural values of the people of Ebonyi state for proper acculturation and acceptance by the people.

OLADEINDE HOLDS FIRST STEERING COMMITTEE MEETING, COMMENDS OFFICIALS.

The state coordinator of NYSC Ebonyi,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,has today held the first steering committee meeting, for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course,commending camp officials for their dedication and hard work,which has resulted in the success recorded so far.

The state coordinator, observed that the meeting earlier held with the corps leadership of the camp, yielded positive results,as most of the concerns raised have been attended to with dispatch..She however encouraged the officials to work harder, adding that it will get better.Mrs Oladeinde,.used the opportunity to disclose that ,she procured 100 mattresses and Kitchen utensils to ease the shortage of mattresses in camp and for easy operation by the kitchen staff .

Heads of collaborating Agencies and assignments, took turns to report on their committees Activities.
The RO1 and the camp Director,in their remarks ,thanked them for work well done, soliciting for more cooperation and synergy ,till success is achieved at the end .
The meeting which opened with the NYSC Anthem and national prayers ,ended with the Nigerian pledge.

MRS OLADEINDE FOLUKE PROCURES NEW MATTRESSES AND SOME KITCHEN UTENSILS

In a bid to ensure that batch C stream 11 orientation course is hitch free in Ebonyi camp,,the State Coordinator, Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has procured new mattresses and Kitchen utensils that will make the work easy,not only that,she is also connecting with the critical stakeholders to bring more development to the scheme in the state .

Amongst her numerous achievements upon her resumption as the state coordinator Ebonyi,is the acquisition of the following underlisted items today:

100pcs mattresses
7 Big serving coolers
3 serving pots
3 big cooking pots
5 washing basins
2 washing sieves
5 buckets
cooking knives and spoons
5 coolers for the Collaborating agencies.

While handing them over,the SC disclosed that ,she purchased the new mattress to ease the shortage of mattresses in camp and the kitchen utensils to make the job easy and smooth for her workers.

The camp officials and the corps members were excited and happy for the prompt response by the state coordinator, immediately she observed the need .

OLADEINDE DECLARES SPORTING ACTIVITIES OPEN IN CAMP EBONYI.

The state Coordinator, NYSC Ebonyi,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,this evening, declared the sporting activities for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 orientation course open.

Addressing the
players before the kick off, for the Volleyball Novelty match between the camp officials and the corps members.,she enjoined them to play the game according to the rules and to see the game as friendly and for the entertainment of the camp community.

She later took the kick off and at the end of the entertaining game ,the corps members won the camp officials with 2 sets to 1.
In her closing remarks,she congratulated the corps members for winning the camp officials.

RESPECT THE CULTURE AND TRADITIONS OF YOUR HOST COMMUNITIES.Horri Gabriel..

An Elder statesman,Horri Gabriel Amebo Agwo,, has advised the corps members of Ebonyi camp,to respect the culture and traditions of their host communities ,as they serve their father land in Ebonyi state .
Horri Gabriel, gave this advise, during a traditional Lecture,he deliverd to the corps members today.

Delivering the lecture,the octogenarian defined culture as the total way of life of the people, they way they marry,,dress, speak, educational life , religion and the way they do anything at all.

He went ahead to explain the way Ebonyi people,marry, worship their God, speak, dress, farm,greet.He disclosed that in Ebonyi there are certain things some communities worship or serve and they are called totems ,noting that ,any where they observe that, they should do well to respect it to avoid getting themselves
into trouble..

Horri disclosed that, Ebonyi people are predominantly farmers and they also value their culture and traditions and that every person within the community ,must not look down on the people and what they believe in .
Horri took time to explain that ,the Igbo people celebrate the cola nut and they use it to welcome their visitors,he therefore demonstrated how to break the cola nut in Igbo land ,after which,he shared the cola nuts to all the corps members on platoon basis as a way of welcoming them to Ebonyi.

Horri Agwo, however warned them to always tow the path of discipline in any place they may be, taking time to under study the environment and they way they do things before they act, adding that, any act of indiscipline will be viewed very seriously.

The state coordinator,NYSC Ebonyi,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, has advised the corps members of Ebonyi camp ,to stay out of trouble to avoid facing the camp court .She said this today,when she inaugurated members of the camp court for the 2023 Batch C stream 11 Orientation course .

Addressing the members, shortly after the brief ceremony,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke,charged them to discharge their duties without fear or favour, using the NYSC Bye- law .The membership includes,

LET NATIONAL UNITY AND PEACE OCCUPY YOUR MIND..Gov Nwifuru .

As the 2023 Batch C stream 11 Corps members of Ebonyi state were sworn in today, the Governor of Ebonyi state ,His Excellency,Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has advised them to let National unity,peace and Integration occupy their minds , especially at this challenging period of the nation, adding that"we must co-exist to achieve these common goals" ,irrespective of our cultural backgrounds"

Gov Nwifuru,who spoke through the chairman NYSC state Governing Board and also the Hon.Commissioner Youth Development and sports Ebonyi state,,Hon Richard Ugo Idike , extolled the NYSC for being a veritable instrument of national unity, development and a strong bond that binds together our multifarious ethnic nationalities into one people.He wished the corps members a happy orientation course programme.

In his address,the chairman NYSC state Governing Board ,Hon Richard Ugo Idike , congratulated them for qualifying for call up ,he formally welcomed them to Ebonyi state, urging them to feel at home, for the Ebonyi people are not only hospitable ,but also kind hearted ,among others things he said.

The state coordinator, NYSC Ebonyi,Mrs Oladeinde Foluke, in her address called on the corps members to take every aspect of the orientation course very seriously by participating actively, especially in the SAED program,she encouraged them to key into it for job and wealth creation .She used the opportunity to thank the state Government and the good people of Ebonyi state for the love and support the scheme has enjoyed in the state ..

In Ebonyi state a total of 1820 corps members ,made up of 896 Female and 924 male, took the NYSC Oath of allegiance,which was administered by the representative of the Chief Judge of Ebonyi state ,Hon Justice Nicolas Nwode, of the state Judiciary.

CORPS CAMP DIRECTORS FOR EBONYI CAMP NAMED

Three Corps Camp Directors for Ebonyi camp have been named ,they are; Omokhvakele Victor Omosoge , EB/ 23C/1417 a civil Engineering graduate from the university of Porthacourt .
Paul Elisha Ekom, a graduate of Chemical Engineering from Gregory University,Uturu Abia state .
Mbak, Itoro Polycarp,Eb/ 23 C/ 1443.A graduate of Mass communication from Akwaibom state polytechnic.

Inaugurating them today, during her briefing,the state coordinator, explained the position of a corps camp Director, charging them to carry out their duties with high sense of discipline and dedication and to see the assignment as an added responsibility that must be carried out with due diligence..

The highlight of the brief ceremony was the decoration of the corps camp Directors with a reflective sash for ease of identification.
