Yesterday was awesome!
What started as a thought, became a dream, then a project, and then came to fruition yesterday. The 1st Annual Feeling Groovy Festival is now in the record books and we’ve already started the planning for next year.
It takes a lot of pieces to make a festival work, from meetings to plan dates and hours, to creating vendor applications with tons of details, to working with the Health Department over every single bite of food that will be present, to advertising and posting, to registering, to designing graphics, meeting with potential sponsors, a million phone calls and emails, reviewing hundreds of bands and entertainers to negotiating costs and booking, to creating and implementing the peripherals: demonstrations, DJs, contests, decorations, directional signs, even things as small as ice chests of water and ice on the stage while keeping every single thing in a simply put - small budget.
Considering that it’s all done by volunteers who all work full time jobs as well, it’s incomprehensible that hundreds of hours of “details” can suddenly become the amazing event we had yesterday.
We could not have had this amazing event without the vendors, performers, volunteers and guests that supported not only us, but this amazing community. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
