My name is Sarah and I started best dishes in 2019, although my infatuation with vintage dish ware has been life-long. My business focuses on creating experiences that are beautiful, sustainable and meaningful that bring people together.

tip: make your lemonade from scratch, it is so worth it!
Strawberry lemonade recipe:
Purée 1/2 strawberries (stems removed) in a food processor
Make simple syrup by dissolving 1-2 cups white sugar into 2 cups water in a saucepan over low heat
Squeeze juice from 6-8 lemons and strain the juice through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher
Combine with simple syrup and strawberry purée and enjoy!

I’ll be honest, the look of the bottle plays a big part in my wine buying decisions. I selected the Lazzara Bianco Secco to pair with my navy and gold picnic set because the gold Art Deco design of the bottle fit the luxurious vintage party feel I wanted to evoke. Being a vintage lover means I appreciate a good story and was also drawn to the fact that this design and wine style pay homage to the makers’ great grandmother. This VQA Ontario wine from is fresh and floral with pear and mineral flavours and and a dry, medium acidity. Pairs well with cheese (what doesn’t?) and fruity desserts. Available at LCBOs across Ontario including the Goderich location.
