Our Story

Women’s Events Committee (WEC) is a feminist collective that builds community by hosting woman-focused events that raise awareness about issues facing women and provide networking opportunities for women and our allies.

Based in London, Ontario, Canada, we meet quarterly to plan events. New members are always welcome! Our Committee and events are 2SLGBTTIQQPAA and non-binary inclusive.

We collaborate with organizations, community groups, and individuals in London and area who share our vision of gender equity, women’s empowerment, and violence-free lives for women and their families. We are committed to accessibility, intersectionality, and inclusion and aim to make our events accessible and inclusive for attendees of any ability, employment status, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, or gender expression. WEC hosts five or more events each year. Our annual events include:

International Women's Day (March) London Feminist Fair (June) 2020 EVENT CANCELLED Women's Pride Party (July) Take Back The Night (third Thursday of September) National Day of Action and Remembrance on Violence Against Women (December 6th) Our events are free to attend, admission by donation, or a nominal ticket price to help us cover costs. All proceeds raised are used to fund future events and we regularly share proceeds with other community groups:
