Windsor went to a new home today. A collector bought her (his 3rd truck) with plans for her to go to the Virginia Fire Museum in Roanoke! Going to miss her but thrilled she is going to the museum!!!

Our Dalmatian made a new friend at Black Dog Salvage! While there I spotted an extremely cool fire boat deck gun that would look amazing in front of the firehouse. Unfortunately it was a little out of the firehouse budget!

When you live in a firehouse and it’s your anniversary where do you go?? Another firehouse!!! We’re staying at the renovated boutique hotel Roanoke Firehouse 1 and it is amazing!!! Beautiful renovation job! Stopped in to “The Hatch” for dinner, excellent food and top notch service!!! Hatch

Took Windsor for some errands today! FIrst to the post office, then Tractor Supply for dog food. Stopped by Marathon gas for some non ethanol gas (she gulps gas!), and then into Lowe’s for some firehouse supply’s. This warranted a stop by the awesome Trading Post for some driver refreshments….probably the first time she has had an iced Mocha in the cab!!! Then on to Mission Thrift, and was going to hit Taco Jesus but the parking lot was full! Now to let her rest in a nice cool bay!!! ,

It may be old school but with the price of electricity a clothesline makes sense. Bedspreads, tablecloths, chair covers, etc. get a wash then up they go! Worked for grandma!!!

New addition to Firehouse 4, I believe it is a glass “grenade extinguisher from the late 1800’s. Already up on the wall!!! If any of y’all have any information on it I would love to hear it!!
Interpreted the writing in the glass. It is a railroad “dry-gas” extringuisher made by the Dri-Gas Extinguisher Company in Chattanooga, Tennessee…..made from 1900-1915.
According to the directions you pull it out of the bracket and toss the contents at the base of the fire.

Been wanting to change out some of the furniture in the firehouse, looking for old oak library or courthouse chairs. They can be pretty pricey. Stopped at a yard sale today….$5…..score!!!!!!
