Senior Center and Local Community Members,
We hope this post finds you healthy, staying home and safe.
Times are forcing us to seek help from the community and you. We are putting together a food donation program that will provide food at no cost, to Seniors that need it. It is for those seniors that are not able to safely go to the grocery store. We are asking for donations of nonperishable food, such as canned goods, boxed meals and pasta. Those of you that are able to shop please think of us and get a few extra items to bring by the Senior Center. We will be accepting donations on Tuesdays between 10 am and noon. Once we get the food we will sort and package for pickup or distribution on Thursdays from 10 am to noon. We will compile a list of people that request to receive food and will walk the donations to their cars. Anyone wanting to receive food must call the Senior Center in advance of the pickup day and get on the list. Leave a message if no answer and we will respond to your calls. There is no way for us to know how much food we will receive and how many people we will be able to help. We will also be getting pet food from George Blush (5XL and Nita's Coffee Shop) for those that require it. Call The Senior Center at 360-426-7374 and talk to Patti, Penny or Val, if no answer please leave a message and we will get back to when we can.
In addition, a huge thank you thank you thank you for the monetary donations that have been coming in. Every one counts, no matter the amount.
We are looking forward to getting back to normal but until we can, we need to pull together and get creative in ways to help each other.
Take care,
Patti
