To be clear - Jesus is my Lord, my Savior. He is the LIGHT of the world, without him there is nothing. I’ve wrestled lately a lot with the point of all the earthly things. Why we do what we do… and at the end of the day what does it gain us? If it’s not for Jesus, it’s for nothing! All things can work together for his good, but I’m finding we as humans, his creation, forget him in so many things. We only turn to him in the best of the best or lowest of lows. Sometimes we only turn to him to yell at him and tell him how we think we can do better. We gripe and complain, but friends WE ARE OWED NOTHING!!! ACTUALLY WE ARE OWED SOMETHING - DEATH (Roman’s 6:23)! For none are righteous - no not one! We can’t cast stones because our hands are already so filthy from our own sin! The only thing we deserve is our own misery and separation BUT GOD SAID NO I LOVE YOU! He said YOU ARE MINE AND YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFULLY MADE! Surrender the things that hold you back from living for the Kingdom and don’t look back!

At the end of a very busy October wedding season, and looking towards holidays. My hope and prayer is this. That we step back and honestly and critically evaluate our lives. Do we look like the rest of the world, or do we look like the light of Jesus showing love and patience and endurance with those who seek to destroy.

STOP AND CONSIDER JESUS. CONSIDER THE CREATOR. If he were physically with you all day, what would he see? For those getting married this year or next, reflect with your fiancé! Talk about what you want your marriage to look like! How will you bring Jesus to the center of it! Here’s to being the embodiment of Christ in this next season!

Celebrating every day of this gift that purifies marriages, takes what’s broken and makes it strong and whole again. Only our God can do that! He restores, he heals, and we pray Jesus in your marriages. We pray Jesus to be seen by your guest on wedding day. May all we do and all we say bring glory to Him alone!

I have not been one to ever hide my love for Jesus and I never will. Like many of you my heart has hurt for so many reasons… but what I take from the heartbreak of each tragedy that unfolds before me is this:
🤍 God is good, God is just, God is unchanging.
🤍 The world has always been a scary place and we as Christians were told to prepare for suffering (and suffering can take many forms)
🤍 To be bold in faith no matter the cost because EVERYONE needs to hear about Jesus no matter who they are! If I am silent - the enemy wins.
🤍 There is NOTHING in this world that is more important than the gospel that Jesus, both man and God, came to earth to take on the sacrifice for everyone man or woman’s sins so that we can stand before our creator blameless in Jesus name, ending the suffering that is being away from our Father that this world has come to.
🤍 To walk in obedience requires radical faith that not all will understand…. The cost is everything the world has to offer, but the reward is far greater than that.
🤍 The road to heaven is narrow more narrow than people are willing to admit because FULL belief requires discipline, sacrifice of anything that the world holds dear. It may seem like hate to the ones who don’t take the time to understand Gods word, but it’s compassion and love that seems out of reach that God offers IF WE ARE WILLING ! Most people don’t even know Jesus yet use his name to get their agenda across, which is why believers cannot be silent.
🤍 My heart has been broken for as long as I can remember hearing that not everyone makes it to heaven…. It intensifies with every day apart from my savior, but what I know is this. JESUS LOVES YOU AND WANTS YOU TO KNOW HIM! SALVATION IS FREEING BUT COMES AT A COST OF DENYING YOURSELF AND THE WORLD TO PICK UP YOUR CROSS DAILY AND FOLLOW DESPITE CULTURE, TRENDS, OPINIONS, EMOTIONS. THIS IS THE GOD WHO CONSTANTLY OFFERS COMPASSION DESPITE WHAT WE DESERVE BECAUSE HE LOVES US AND COVERS US IN TRUTH AND LIFE!

For this is the reason we continue to run the race. Apart from God - nothing matters. There is no one too far that Jesus can’t heal. So here’s to perusing Jesus no matter what it costs.

The beauty of God’s timing and His plan even in the midst of a broken world will never fail to amaze me! This life is not our own, we aren’t owed another moment! We may feel like we are in control but it’s an illusion that the enemy uses to make us distance ourselves from needing our Heavenly Father! If the enemy can keep us distracted and focused on ourselves then we lose sight of all the good happening DESPITE the broken world! Love on the people around you, enjoy the season you are in, sit in the blessing of family and friends!!! In a world that pushes us into the next thing quicker than we can process, its easy to want to move on to the next thing (like why am I seeing Halloween and Christmas things when it’s still summer!!!!!! - and trust me I love the holidays but my goodness) I encourage you to BE STILL today and take note of all the blessings you have! Be thankful for the things you have and don’t stress over what you don’t have or can’t control! God is good 🤍

Wedding planning can feel overwhelming very quickly but seeing all the little details pull together is what keeps us going! If you’re not having fun, take a moment, reevaluate what’s important, simplify, delegate, and remind yourself it will all be worth it in the end!

How lucky are we to experience such deep and beautiful love? I’m not talking about just your spouse, but Jesus! He models for us perfect love! It doesn’t envy, cogent, boast, it’s patient, kind, it’s to value one more than yourself! Love is inconvenient! Love is HARD because it’s selfless! Love is tough conversations that lead to greater understanding! Love is so much more than a word! Here’s to celebrating marriages with such a deep and authentic love it’s hard to ignore!! Praise Jesus for your love story!

If it distracts us from seeing Jesus, leave it. If it keeps us from hearing his voice, seeing his face, experiencing his peace - IT IS NOT WORTH IT! What is there to gain if we lose our souls in the pursuit of worldly things! No amount of money, fame, jobs, labels, or praise is worth not knowing your creator!!! Whether it be music, tv shows, political views, finances, physical things, indulgences, hobbies, extreme love or hate of things - if it keeps you from Christs love it’s not worth perusing!

Here, we chase after Jesus! Though distractions come our way, we will not lose sight that we were out here to tell others that JESUS LOVES YOU! YOU ARE CREATED IN HIS IMAGE AND HE WANTS A RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU! JESUS TOOK ON ALL SIN SO WE CAN ONE DAY BE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD! We believe Jesus transforms us and can take a marriage and turn it into an unstoppable team to spread this good news! If it sounds crazy - it is! To have a creator so intentional and with such deep love that he allows us to seek him despite the chaos of our fallen world is CRAZY! But he is in all things! Thank you Jesus for the promise of your grace! His grace and mercy is enough! The distractions will never be!

Praying for all our couples to be reminded or for the first time to experience such love and peace!

Doing a devotional with the husband about the power of words! Words can build, words can destroy! Simple words like thanks and help can radically change our lives! Words in marriage are so important for lasting communication! We should use our words gently and wisely to build our partner up and not tear down! The easy thing to do is to complain, the pick apart each other, to use those words to remind them of short comings! But evaluate the words you use towards your spouse, and try to use them to encourage and correct gently! Allow your words to be WORSHIP, GRATITUDE, ENCOURAGEMENT AND MORE!

Today I am thankful for GRACE that many have extended in this time as I figure out life as a mom, business owner, wife, and all the other things! I am thankful for family and friends being the best support system and showing up even tho I hate asking for help. I am thankful for Matthew being who he is and consistent and steadfast in all things. So many blessings all from the Lord. My prayer is I use my words wisely for all our brides not allowing anything that isn’t of the Lord to leave these lips!

On this day in 2019 .lori.sh was born, and trust me we shouldn’t be here today! It’s only by the good Lord that we are here! Here’s a quick summary in case you never knew how I started this venture🤍 swipe to see throwbacks!!!

2019 rolled in and I found out we (my sisters and I - 4 in college is brutal) couldn’t afford to go back to school so I’m the sadness of having to move out I decided to use this time to just try my hand in the wedding world solo! I had worked for different florist and planners as well as worked at a venue! So I told my new FIANCÉ and friends and family I was gonna do valentines to see if I wanted to actually do this on my own! I went with my dad to the court house filed for a license and thought what could go wrong?!? Classic last line before a humbling … highlights include:
•
Replacing all 4 tires from blowouts, new laptop cause it decided to just not turn on, new charger for it because night before I left it at work, balancing 2 other jobs trying to get flowers from places because the online place I ordered from sent me dead and not the right color flowers AS WELL AS THINGS JUST JOT SHOWING UP, a youth retreat that same weekend at my church internship, family chaotically trying to help me get supplies and flowers that never came, 1 hour of sleep, CAR THAT HAD NEW TIRES being repossessed, down 2 cars for my delivery and so much more. ..
•
I wish I could type it all out but it all started with a stubborn girl with a dream to succeed and family and friends who wouldn’t let her fail! My family stepped up and delivered like mad men with me, my friends stepped up and took over pickup orders, drove me to the airport, Matt helped me with my final order in Beaumont, ate some noodles, cried and then talked about how we were going to fix this!
•
We found a car on our drive back to be leaders at the DNOW weekend, realizing life was not going to be as smooth sailing as we thought. Made it out on the other side and I remember telling Matt how HORRID that was but could we do it again? And thus F.LORI.SH came to be! There’s so much more but just grateful for my people and husband and JESUS for making this chaos F.LORI.SH into beauty!
