Fronted by long time listener, first time caller Sam Van Munnen () .band touts a line up of seasoned players.

Including members of the , , and !!

They will bumble their way into your heart with sheer force of sincerity. With a rollicking, rattling folk pop performance, Overthinker’s songs are wordy and winding snapshots of friendship, sociological frustration and the fight to stay kind in an unkind world.

Here’s a few words they have about :

‘We’re really proud to be a part of this gig and to raising money and awareness for an organisation which does such sadly vital work.

If you didn’t know Safe Steps is an organisation who provide both immediate and ongoing support for victims of Family Domestic Violence.

These include (but are not limited to) a 24/7 Crisis Support Line (1800 015 188) as well as access to crisis accomodation, a lawyer, nurse and Centerlink officer.

Thanks to Much Love for teeing this up, it’s a really great example of how we can use our hobbies, art and community to support things that do good in the world.’

.harlon.and.the.dead.crows , an Australian rock group from Melbourne, have carved out a distinct place for themselves in the music scene.

They take their cues from bands like Black Sabbath and Smashing Pumpkins, mix their music with powerful, distorted guitars, hypnotic rhythms, and distorted vocals. Their music transports listeners on an excursion through the depths of their emotions and evokes feelings of unrepentant sincerity and roughness.

In Australia’s thriving rock scene, Jack Harlon & The Dead Crows have developed a devoted fan base because of their contagious energy and unrelenting persistence. They provide an escape into a universe where the strength of rock reigns supreme while also painting a realistic picture of the harsh realities of life through their music.

“We are very stoked to see the proceeds from this gig going to Safe Steps. It is invaluable to have a service that provides IMMEDIATE support for those experiencing domestic violence. Making that first call is always the hardest. It immediately changes the reality that you’ve been so used to for so long. We wrote a song called ‘Absolved’ about this exact type of situation.

When the time comes, it’s absolutely key to have confidentiality and an instant safety net like safe steps provide.”

Much Love is back with a huge lineup to raise money for Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre.

Safe Steps is a family and domestic violence crisis support centre that is available 24/7 and statewide.

They do great work and we are so happy to raise some money for them while having a bloody great time on Friday May 2nd at the Bergy Bandroom.

Much Love started out doing some epic house parties at a share house in Kensington. So, we thought it was best to get some of our favourites from those days back together.

Thanks so much to the staff at Berry Street for the support throughout this process and their enthusiasm for the event.

Big thanks also to all the bands (Mature Themes Dayzed The Bad Randys Skyscraper Stan Carpal Tunnel Band Josh McCombe band Brodie J Brümmer Hugh Montgomery) for their awesome sets and the Bergy Bandroom for being wonderful hosts.

The night was so fun and we can’t wait to do another one.

Skyscraper Stan Woodhouse is a songwriter lauded for his observational lyricism - a cocktail of wit and grit delivered in a versatile baritone.

As a touring musician based out of Central Victoria, Stan spends upwards of half the year on the road. His regional tours have taken him to every state and territory in Australia, from Katherine to Hobart. Originally classing himself as a country musician his earlier influences included pre-war blues, the Laurel Canyon songwriters, Nick Cave and Sam Cooke. Since arriving in Australia from New Zealand in 2009 The Drones, Peep Tempel and Paul Kelly among others have been added to the list.

We are so happy to have them playing as a stripped back duo ensemble for the Much Love to Berry Street fundraiser.

Tickets are hopping out the door so make sure you get yourself one early for Saturday 27th January at the Bergy Bandroom.

Formed in 2022, Melbourne/Naarm six-piece Mature Themes have quickly gained a reputation for a blistering, electric live show with their unique blend of 90s influenced psychedelia.

2023 saw the band release their first song as a unit, 'So Much Better Now' - a track exploring the overwhelming nature of information in our current day. No doubt that with a string of new releases on the horizon, Mature Themes are surely a band to watch out for in 2024 and we are so happy to have them on the lineup.

Unfortunately KILL BELL have had to pull out of the show on January 27th.

Go check out their stuff they're awesome.

Picking up their spot are The Bad Randys, now with an extra bad.

Based in Melbourne/Naarm, The Bad Bad Randys are a full-of-beans four-piece rock and roll band. Returning from a break that saw them play only 3 shows in 2023, songwriter Denzel has gotten the band back together with a eerily familiar lineup; musical genius Armando from BÊNG holding down the bass, guitar extraordinaire Nick from BENG and Mature Themes on guitar, and Melbourne’s angriest drummer and rock-dog of the year Chloe from S***K and Back Pocket smashing the tubs.

Fans of wild guitar tones, groovy rhythms and a healthy dose of the psychedelic will feel right at home. The Randys are back and they’re as bad as ever.

In our first of many artist profiles leading up to the big day, we have Emotion Picture!!

Emotion Picture are a Melbourne based no frills grunge band. Australian-born, American-bred transplant Grace Mitchell & Melbourne’s own popular music figure Stive Collins assembled Emotion Picture in late September 2022, bringing onboard Brodie J Brümmer from Flyying Colours and Luke Woollett.

Each member of Emotion Picture has come from their own uniquely successful musical backgrounds to assemble what is a true fantasy draft of musicians.

If you like 90's era movie soundtracks, this band is perfect for you. They are not to be missed.
