GET TO KNOW ME 🙋🏻‍♀️

Thought it was time for a reintroduction and a big HELLO and THANK YOU to my new (and old) followers. It means so much to me that you have joined me in my tiny corner of Instagram. I absolutely love my job and find it a huge privilege to work with my wonderful couples and incredible suppliers.

When I launched my business, I wanted to make wedding planning a joyful, not stressful, experience for my couples. So that they could thoroughly enjoy their engagement and the planning process. There is so much my couples don’t see that goes on behind the scenes, because honestly? They don’t need to! My job is to handle the logistics, timelines, supplier sourcing (and chasing!), contract reviewing, budget managing, the design process and so much more, so that my couples can focus on themselves and the powerful union of marriage.

When Leah and I began designing for this day, we wanted to create a look that couples could really see themselves in. One that was beautiful, refined, wildly romantic, but also achievable. We wanted to showcase how investing in flowers in a clever way can create a unique wedding design. Leah’s grounded meadow arch does just that and we can’t wait to show you it in all its glory.

Working with an incredible team of suppliers was a joy and enabled this to all come together seamlessly.

What does a wedding planner do? I’ve written about this topic before, but never addressed the question quite so directly. As more couples consider hiring a wedding planner, it’s important to explore why this decision can be transformative for your big day. I’m back! Slightly quieter than usual on here as I was relishing having a break from social media whilst on holiday. Instagram (and other platforms) is a crucial aspect of my business, but I was definitely suffering from ‘Instagram fatigue’ a little!

I consider it a privilege to be your wedding planner. Trusting me with one of the most important days of your life is a true honour. And my job means I get to work at some incredible venues and homes - definitely not your typical office job!

Wedding season kicks off in April for us and so as I reflect on the 2024 season and the amazing venues I worked at and weddings I worked on, I am so excited to be working at some stunning venues this year.

Your venue is such an incredibly important selection. Be it a private estate or grand French chateau, the venue sets the scene and foundation for the rest of the wedding. From the floral design to the catering to the entertainment, everything needs to work cohesively.

I cannot wait to kick things off next month and reveal the incredible things that have been going on behind the scenes.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY!

Here are my three biggest tips when it comes to your wedding flowers:

🌸 Concentrate your investment on statement installations, rather than spreading your budget across lots of small arrangements

🌷 Repurpose your flowers throughout the day. Your ceremony flowers can be relocated to your reception

🌺 Decide what to do with your flowers after your day. Donating them to a hospital or hospice is one option (but needs to be arranged beforehand!). And of course you can always preserve your bouquet and key personal items!

I just love a confetti shot! Everyone always looks so happy. And S & C and their guests are no exception.

There are various different types of confetti and photographers generally love biodegradable paper confetti because it falls slower than dried petals. But many venues won’t allow anything other than dried petal confetti. So make sure you check this before your big day to avoid disappointment!

Then there’s the debate of whether to put the confetti in envelopes/packets for guests or let them grab a handful. Sustainability wise, it’s much better to just let guests grab some. But always order more than you think if opting for this method because the first few people will likely be greedy!

This is one of my most simplistic designs. Yet it is still impactful. Why? The colour and details.

Sometimes the most refined designs are the ones that are the most unforgettable. A cohesive design incorporates a considered colour palette, variety of textures, atmospheric lighting and thoughtful details. I adore the design element of wedding planning.

Your wedding dress is a really important and personal element of your wedding day. It should evoke your personality and style. Here are a few designers I love:

1. I know I’m biased, but it goes without saying - simply stunning
2. utterly beautiful, feminine and timeless (plus bows feature heavily 😍). Simply stunning.
3. have recently released their bridal collection and it is beautiful. So classic, yet modern and fun. You must check it out!
4. truly unique and beautiful. I just love all of Phoebe’s designs. Bespoke and utterly stunning.
5. so so pretty, feminine and whimsical. The lace and detailing in the designs is gorgeous. So unique.

It’s the ability to add personal touches that define your wedding as YOUR wedding.

These napkin bows with embroidered initials for the bride and groom from the wonderful were a surprise on the day from me to the couple. The rest of the guests had smaller non-embroidered bows. But creating something unique for the bride and groom created a special moment and an item they can keep and cherish forever.

Plus they make such a statement and look so gorgeous! 🎀
