On Sunday 5th October, after months of hard work from a small team of suppliers, The Wedding Social had its debut event. This is the first of its kind. A way for couples to chat to wedding suppliers about their wedding planning and ask questions, to ensure meaningful and purposeful conversations without any sales pitches.

Just a room, designed to show different elements of the wedding day from bridal prep, to the ceremony, to the wedding breakfast, and a great team of like minded individuals willing to help. Canapés and drinks on arrival, beautiful inspiration and honest conversation.

Can’t wait for the next one already!

Well this was a wild and wonderful wedding! Weather conditions not too dissimilar to the famous wedding scenes in About Time, but it did NOT dampen C & R’s day. A change in venue half way through the night ensured the evening didn’t stop and everyone kept smiling throughout. Such a privilege to have played a small part in this very special day.

It would seem the weather has started to change as the end of wedding season is in sight. So I thought I’d try and brighten a wet day with images of the beautiful florals created by a group of talented florists earlier this summer at workshop. Was a fabulous day! Immersive florals were created and repurposed throughout Denton Hall to create unique moments each space.

Kindest words from T&A! A gorgeous Design & Coordination couple ❤️

“When we began the process of planning our wedding we knew we would need assistance given we had less than a year to plan and that we were planning a wedding in Yorkshire while living in the US. Fortunately for us, we found Freya who was not only able to coordinate our day, but also created a beautiful design that blew everyone away, even the venue’s staff.

At the end of every conversation with Freya we felt confident and at ease with where we were in the process. Given our location, many meetings were virtual, but she also made time to meet us in-person any time we were visiting family in Yorkshire. Freya is an excellent communicator and always responded promptly to any question or concern that we had. She took the time to listen to our ideas and look through our inspiration photos to create something that was not just a replica from Pinterest, but unique to us and a blending of cultures and families.

Walking into the room where we held the wedding breakfast, we were blown away with how beautiful it was. Seeing the design proposal that Freya created was one thing, but seeing it come to life was another. Freya is not only committed to the small details that make an event special, but bringing big ideas that pushed our thinking of what might be possible within our budget.

As someone who does not give up control lightly and cares about getting the details right, I had anticipated that I would feel anxious on the day or feel the need to be involved. However when the day came, I did not once feel an itch to double-check the small details had been taken care of, in fact I didn’t even know what time it was for most of the day. Being able to be fully present throughout the day was truly the greatest gift that I could have received and was only possible due to the total faith that I had in Freya and her ability to execute.

We are so lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Freya and cannot thank her enough for allowing us to have the perfect day of celebrating with family and friends.”
