Want a wedding that’s a bit different? You don’t need a traditional wedding venue to have a wedding! There are so many ways and places you can get married now. And alternative venues make for some of the best weddings.

C & H had a tiny ceremony at the local registry office and then celebrated properly the next day at a house they rented for the weekend for all their family and friends to stay in. It was SO MUCH FUN and so personal to them as a couple. It really made for the perfect intimate wedding venue.

Been a while since I said hello and I have a few new followers (thank you!) so thought I should introduce myself!

💫I’m a design-led wedding planner, living in Yorkshire. I believe in creating weddings that have you and your guests at their very centre. I am inspired by nature and believe in the beauty of the natural world in helping craft your wedding day

💫 I love bows. I have soooo many clothes with bows over them (case in point in these images 🤣) I even had a giant bow on my wedding dress! If you want them incorporated into your wedding, then I’m all for it.

💫 Travelling and being outdoors are two of my favourite things. Travelling helps bring new ideas to my wedding designs. I’d love to go to South America next!

💫 I love to sing! Just ask my family 🤦🏽‍♀️ Mum always said I could sing before I could talk. Music is so emotive and an integral part of your wedding day. Choose it wisely to help create the perfect atmosphere. You’ll probably find me listening to a wide range of music, but Taylor and Carrie Underwood will always be a go to!

💫 I rowed for 4 years whilst at University, including a small stint in the States whilst on a placement. I don’t know where I’d be if I hadn’t rowed as I made some of my best friends through the sport and even met my wonderful husband thanks to it. Sport and exercise are still an integral part of my life.

The days might be cold and Christmas is just around the corner, but as I look ahead to 2025, I’m enjoying reminiscing over 2024’s wedding season.

I’m still not over this ceremony location from August for R & E - French chateau, vineyard, Lake Geneva. Perfection.

The staircase is beautiful. I knew we had to take advantage of it and this dress and cape was just perfect! Effortlessly elegant.

CAPTIVATED

‘Inspired by nature, created for you.’
When I came up with the design for Captivated, I was inspired by a rambling rose growing up a garden wall. Nature taking hold to create beauty. I knew that this needed to be the premise for my design, where impactful florals and the beauty of the outside would take centre stage.

Enter the impressive grounds of Howsham Hall and the creativity of my brand. Working closely with Beth my vision was made a reality. Inspired by nature, I knew this design had to be in keeping with the seasons, even down to the golden glow in the makeup and the delicate sugar flowers on the cake.

⭐️ SPECIAL WEDDING ALERT ⭐️

This summer I’ve had the privilege of attending 4 of my best friends’ weddings. But this one was a little different for me. C & H are both some of my closest friends and when they told me about their wedding plans and that they were going to do things a little differently, I got very excited.

Following a very small legal ceremony on Friday, C & H wanted to celebrate their wedding with a more personal and intimate ceremony the following day. And they asked me to lead the ceremony - the BIGGEST honour. I was able to write a personal script that truly reflected them and told their story. I also sneaked in a surprise flash mob rendition of Sweet Caroline (complete with confetti cannons, obvs) which went down SO well.

Not only that, but I made Charlotte and her bridesmaids’ bouquets and did the table bud vases. I’m adding more strings to my wedding bow! It was so much fun and such a privilege.

BREAK FROM TRADITION

I’m a firm believer in designing a wedding that is true to you as a couple. Ray and Ed’s legal ceremony was a small affair at Islington Town Hall back in May. Fast forward to the end of August and they asked their friends and family to join them at Chateau de Ripaille for their ‘real’ wedding. And it was so them!

Some of the less traditional but brilliant things:
💫Speeches during the drinks reception (as well as the meal)
💫Bride & groom walking down the aisle together
💫Bridesmaids and groomsmen wearing whatever they wanted
💫Two of their best friends acting as celebrants
💫Group sing-a-long to God Only Knows, The Beach Boys
💫Outfit change for the bride into a navy silk waistcoat suit

I could go on! It was wonderful.
