Sunday in the garden~ I’ve been admiring the flowers in the first pic, yep that would be my favorite color range (besides and/ or along with greens or blues) It wasn’t on purpose, but they’re planted in same area and they match- a perfect peachy coral. I’ve been growing alstroemeria for approx 30 years, the obsession began when I bought one of the first plants that came in at the nursery where I worked, it is called Champagne. The other colors have hybridized between themselves over the years resulting in some unique colors. Last photo is another favorite combo- DA Perdita rose and Champagne alstroemeria

Happy May Day 🌹 It’s origins are multifaceted, with roots in both ancient agricultural festivals and the labor movement. Historically, it was a spring festival marking the transition from winter to spring.
Later on it became associated with the labor moment and advocating for worker’s rights

May Day Spring Festival Origins:

Beltane (Celtic): In Celtic culture, May Day was Beltane, a festival celebrating the start of summer and fertility, often marked by bonfires and rituals.

Floralia (Roman): The Romans celebrated Floralia, a festival honoring the goddess of flowers and spring, which also took place in early May.

Ancient Agricultural Practices:
May Day traditions, like decorating homes with flowers and dancing around Maypoles, were likely rooted in ancient agricultural rituals aimed at ensuring fertility.

First big flower picking of the year from my garden goes to the cemetery to remember loved ones~ mom, sister, grandparents and parents-in-law. I choose who gets what by selecting their most favorite flowers that are currently blooming🤍

After retiring from growing and selling flowers and arrangements at the end of 2024, it’s been difficult to think of planting purely for beauty, and my own, and my family’s enjoyment. These flowers consist of my trusted perennials that never fail to provide and sweet peas.

is a # from to celebrate the beauty of flowers and the practice of making something beautiful from them, and then posting photos.

Flowers included in these arrangements and in the buckets:
Dutch Iris
Sweet Peas
Mini Gerberas
Alstromeria
Ranunculus
Bells of Ireland
Attar of Roses scented geranium
Linaria

I got happy-mail today! I finally ordered in time to acquire ’s special seeds in her breeding line- delicate colors of Zinnias and special Dawn Creek Blush Agrostemma.

The other photos here are from my 2024 growing season. I planted from Dawn Creek and Floret’s joint seed venture of zinnias, and very unlike me, I didn’t bother to label 🤦🏼‍♀️ I regretted it! I’m a stickler for knowing plant varieties. So the flower photos are a big beautiful mix of those seeds that grew into 5 foot tall plants and gave me more zinnias than I ever imagined from just one 20 foot row.

It’s with great anticipation (and caution not to start too early) but I am so excited to see what these little packs of seeds have hidden away for me.

Our Story

For 2020, I am fine tuning my schedule; including more true garden style events, intimate affairs for under 100 guests, elopements, and events that really show off the Season's Best Flowers, mostly grown in the Fleurie Garden, locally sourced and California grown. Its my thang, my jam, my 'look', my style and the type of events I want to put my name on. It's my true passion to use the flowers I grow, and the style of events I prefer.

If this sounds like your thing, please inquire! I also have many items in my inventory that I rent out at a nominal cost to you when you are a Fleurie Client.
