The world has lost a beloved Mother , Sister , Grandmother , Great Grandmother , Kumu Hula on January 5th , 2021. Ruth Nalua Manaois died from an aggressive cancer. Ruth died in her home surrounded by her family.
Ruth was born on November 6th , 1947 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaiian values of Aloha and Ohana ( Family ) were instilled in her by her parents Harry F. Leuck and Elizabeth Hali’imaile Waipa-Akana Leuck.
Ruth worked as an executive secretary in both the Aerospace and Computer Technology fields. She also directed her own Polynesian Dance Studio HULA HALAU ‘ O NALUA and OTE’A ‘API which has been existence since 1976. Her love for Family and HULA coexisted in a beautiful harmony that she expressed , as she would say , in a flower lei. As each of her students are her flowers , sewn together with the Love for her Husband, Children, Grand Children , and Great Grand Children.
