Enoch Park Stables
Horses and horse racing have long been a piece of Enoch Park’s history. In the 1970s and 1980s horse racing was flourishing at Enoch Park Racetrack with Quarterhorse and Thoroughbred racing. The first Alberta Arabian horse race was held on May 10th, 1987 at Enoch Park.
The First Nation is located on the southwest boundary of Edmonton. The group used to care for 1000-horse herd for Fort Edmonton during the city’s early days, and the First Nation embraced horse racing. Many of the locals have continued on with the tradition of racing.
