Surrender now and let go.
Learn to live between effort and surrender.
Through surrender you move from outer turmoil to inner peace.
By letting go of expectations and outcomes, you can transform a painful experience into a positive endeavor.
When fear gets the best of you surrender to love.
When you surrender to what is and become rooted in the present, the past ceases to have any power.
And suddenly, a great stillness arises inside of you, and then peace and then joy.
Surrender really is so deeply misunderstood as an act of weakness, when in fact it is the bravest thing you can do.
We are the ones walking between worlds...
We are the living breathing evidence of the new.
We are the torch in the darkness, the bridge between worlds.
And we must remember, no matter how hard it gets ~ it is an honor to be here, lighting the way.

While powwows have taken place at the Elbow River Camp since Guy Weadick โ the founder of the Calgary Stampede โ and the First Nations of Treaty 7 collaborated with Stampede events, this weekโs event is the first of its kind in the Saddledome, with $175,000 in prize money up for grabs.
The shine and jingle of Indigenous regalia filled the Saddledome on Tuesday for the first Calgary Stampede Powwow in the venue.

Purpose ~
Do not forget who you are and where you come from.
You are made of the brightest stars and the widest oceans.
You are made of the highest mountains and the tallest trees.
You are made of magic and dreams, wishes and light.
You have heroes, warriors, kings, queens, gods and goddesses flowing through your veins.
You come from infinite possibilities and incredible odds.
You are here for a reason.

Warrior ~
Be a warrior. Fight for what you believe in and never, ever hold back.
Fiercely go towards your dreams with boldness and lust.
Hold your ground in the face of conflict.
Knock barriers down with courage and grace.
Do not give up when you find yourself face to face to an obstacle, instead continue forward with abandon.
Keep the fire in your heart burning strong and do not ever let your flame fade away.
Remind yourself that what you are fighting for is worth it.
And remember that you will overcome everything that comes your way.
Because my beautiful friends, we are warriors.

Integrity
Choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them ~ Brene Brown
It takes courage to feel what's going on in the world.
It takes warriorship to feel your fire.
It takes grit to feel your love of life and your deep inspiration.

Thank-you to those that are not numbing out and are willing to be impacted by all that swirls inside and out.
Deep bow to those of you who are able to stay present and ride the waves of your felt experience without collapsing or running away ~ j.g.

Horses and horse racing have long been a piece of Enoch Parkโs history. In the 1970s and 1980s horse racing was flourishing at Enoch Park Racetrack with Quarterhorse and Thoroughbred racing. The first Alberta Arabian horse race was held on May 10th, 1987 at Enoch Park.
The First Nation is located on the southwest boundary of Edmonton. The group used to care for 1000-horse herd for Fort Edmonton during the cityโs early days, and the First Nation embraced horse racing. Many of the locals have continued on with the tradition of racing.
