We received these lovely words from a new client yesterday after providing them with a solution for their upcoming Board dinner in Mayfair 🍽️

💬 ‘Thank you very much Lucy for your guidance, your professional advice and, of course, patience.
Looking forward to working with you again in the future.’

They were looking for a nice, intimate private dining space in Mayfair to host their Group Board dinner for around 20 people later on this year.

Ideally the venue needed to be contemporary providing a high level of service and top-quality dining. After a number of venues were put forward and considered by the team, the Michelin-starred at the was booked yesterday!

Pavyllon London is the British expression of Chef and his team’s modern French dining, blending culinary artistry with the relaxed ambience of a neighbourhood restaurant in Mayfair producing innovative and highly crafted dishes 🧑‍🍳

We are absolutely thrilled and know our client will have an amazing experience!

At the end of last week I was in London organising the Dairy Industry Newsletter (DIN) Conference at for around 80 delegates 🙌

The theme in discussion this year was ‘Annihilation, Capitulation, Modification or Collaboration?’ within the dairy industry!

Taking place over 2 days featuring 11 global speakers to provide different perspectives, including ones from Australia, America, India and Europe, it was a fabulous event and very interesting 🌍

A networking dinner on the Thursday evening ensured the discussions continued! A huge thank you to for providing three absolutely delicious cheeses for the cheese board after dinner! 🧀

This is the third year I’ve been working with the DIN team on their conference, and I’ve really enjoyed assisting them again this year.

I look after all the planning, logistics and communications with the venue and delegates including delegate registration and invoicing, organising the fabulous AV team from Audio Visual Events and all other necessities.

It was again hugely enjoyable and another great success with some fantastic feedback from all attending ✨

I’m going to be London-bound tomorrow for the rest of the week working on the Dairy Industry Newsletter Conference, taking place at for around 80 people 🙌

All the details have been finalised, well with a couple of last-minute bits today! However, the sun is shining and I’m looking forward to getting set up tomorrow to welcome our guests to enjoy 11 speakers from all over the world to discuss the theme – ‘Annihilation, Capitulation, Modification or Collaboration?’ within the dairy industry ☀️

Alongside that, they will enjoy a networking dinner on Thursday night and so much more!

The event has been a huge success over the last two years and I’m looking forward to working with the team again! This year we have moved to The Rembrandt, which I feel is a better venue for their needs and will provide an excellent event for all 🥂

What a great way to start the week with some fabulous feedback from our client’s team offsite to Lille recently 🙌

Just before Christmas they had come to me needing my venue finding assistance to find a central Lille hotel close to the station for the Eurostar and easy access from London, together with a fun restaurant providing delicious food and cocktails - .barriere and were then booked! 🇫🇷

Following up after the event I received these fabulous words 💬

‘Lille was AMAZING! Thank you so much for helping. The hotel was great – fab location and the rooms were great. Everyone had a nice spacious room so that worked really well. Nu was great with super food and service. Everyone was very happy so I can’t thank you enough for your help.’

Happy Friday! Wow what a week! It’s been full on, hence I’ve been pretty quiet on here, but I’ve loved it!

I’ve been working in Oxford since Sunday working on the Skoll World Forum 2024 - an annual event hosted by the Skoll Foundation who are catalysing transformational social change by investing in, connecting, and championing social entrepreneurs and other social innovators around the world.

It’s been a fabulous event to be a part of! My role as Evening Events Assistant has been varied and taken me to a wonderful range of venues across central Oxford - so far I’ve been involved with events in 24 venues!

Last day today, and the Closing Party tonight!

Congratulations to my client on their fabulous ‘Loved by Many’ Summit at the Ham Yard Hotel yesterday!

What a fabulous event full of energy - it had a real buzz in the air - and the Ham Yard provided the best setting!

Yesterday, rather than organising the logistics for my client, I was providing an extra pair of hands onsite. My role was to look after the 16 amazing speakers we had throughout the day, ensuring they were briefed, miked up and got on stage at the right time!

A thoroughly enjoyable day! Thank you Sammy and Katy!

Following on from my previous post on Monday I wanted to talk more about Gusbourne wine and estate as a rather unique venue for events.

Only a 15-minute drive down the road from The Gallivant in Kent, the Garden of England, and only an hour away from London, the Gusbourne Estate allows your guests to enjoy a luxurious experience in a beautiful rural setting.

I have to say their sparkling wines are fabulous - I just love their Blanc de Blancs!!

A huge thank you to the wonderful Yolande De Vries Brand Photography for these fabulous set of pics she took recently on a mini-brand refresh shoot in London.

I hate being in front of the camera and always feel nervous about any of our photo shoots, but Yolande is so calm and experienced at what she does, she puts me at ease and makes everything so effortless and easy. I really enjoyed our hour spent together for this new set of pics!

Yolande is hugely talented and a complete natural - she knows exactly how to get you looking and feeling your best. We had a good giggle over the number of times she had to say ‘chin up’ lol! It’s always lovely to finish the week on a high with some wonderful feedback from a client’s Chinese New Year celebration drinks evening last week at the Peninsula London The Peninsula Hotels. Huge thanks to the Peninsula London team for making it such a success!

‘Amazing! Clients and staff in attendance were extremely impressed with the catering and service. Another great event! Everything went smoothly. Even though there was another event in the other part of the restaurant it caused no issue and there were plenty of Peninsula staff on hand to keep drinks and canapes circulating as well as direct any guests to the event. I’m sure we’ll be back!’

During my stay earlier in the week at South Lodge Hotel, we indulged in an amazing foodie experience from Tom Hamblet, the Champion of MasterChef: The Professionals 2023! What a fabulous experience and a true MasterChef winning menu! One of our reasons for going to stay at South Lodge!

I tasted dishes from the show, and others inspired by his time on the show, each a culinary masterpiece showcasing his amazing skill and passion. I was hugely impressed!

Tom has taken residency as Head Chef of Camelia restaurant from 3rd January - 31st March to showcase these dishes inspired by his time on MasterChef. He is then taking up residency at The Avenue restaurant at Lainston House, a sister Exclusive Hotel, until the end of June

I highly recommend treating yourself to a stay and delicious dinner with Tom’s food at either property or treating your clients or staff to an incentive packed with world-class cuisine, relaxation in the spa and beautiful surroundings - go for it!

This weekend I managed a wonderful getaway and visited South Lodge, one of the beautiful Exclusive Collection properties in the rolling Sussex countryside. It really is an experience, and was a lovely treat!

With stunning views from my bedroom window across the lawns and vines, an expansive spa offering relaxing and rejuvenating treatments - I indulged in a one-hour hot-stone massage, which was heaven - and a trio of excellent restaurants offering delicious culinary delights, this five-star hotel is an excellent choice for retreats, team off-sites, incentives and senior leadership events.

In July eight enchanting Lakeside Lodges are opening situated around their wild swimming lake! Providing the best in modern luxury and sustainability, these will provide guests with a wonderful place to retreat to. I can’t wait to see these on my next visit!

Yesterday I mixed business with pleasure and went down to the south coast - to Brighton - for some refreshing sea air and a long needed catch up over lunch with some wonderful friends.

Business in the morning with a lovely coffee in Hove with a new client. We’ve been chatting since last July about the company’s annual founders retreat they do each September and it was fabulous to finally put a face to the name! Big shout out to the The Flour Pot Bakery for a very delicious cappuccino! Great spot Sarah-Louise!

I also managed to fit in a call with an event industry friend based in Oxford and her American client over doing site visits in Oxford for a big week-long event coming up in a couple of months. I’ve agreed to help out on a freelance basis in the evenings - what an event! I can’t wait and be able to share more!

Thank you Emma Mills-Sheffield, Yolande De Vries Brand Photography and Lisa Seymour for a great catch-up over lunch! It was long overdue, and super to see my Brighton Gals again. These wonderful peeps have all helped me out with Lucy Claire Events - we all met networking before covid - and have remained friends ever since. Yolande is responsible for some of the incredible images I use on my website and social, Lisa for my rebrand before Covid and the design of my website, and Emma for getting me through the tangled web of having a business and keeping me on the straight and narrow as we emerged out of Covid - Emma is a very talented and incredible business consultant helping people become more efficient, more productive and more resilient in their business

It’s been a fabulous and busy week in the office and a trip to the coast was just what I needed! Every so often it’s nice to be able to take these treats and make the most of it!

Huge thanks to the wonderful team at The Goldsmiths' Centre and Company of Cooks for a fabulous menu tasting and supplier visit to Goldsmiths Hall last week for my client’s upcoming event in March.

Food is one of the most important elements of an event, and therefore it is absolutely crucial to get it right! My clients are inviting their VIP guests to a drinks reception with a difference (for now it’s top secret - jump on the grid in March and find out!). It is absolutely paramount they get the canapés and bowl food just right, hence a menu tasting is so important.

The chefs made it pretty tricky for us to make decisions with their delicious canapés and bowl foods, but we made it and rolled home!

Furikake seared tuna and soy mayo on a lotus crisp, seared scallops, cauliflower puree, Nduja and crispy kale, and slow roasted venison fillet with caramelised swede and a red wine reduction…. an amazing abundance of flavours and so beautifully cooked!

We can’t wait to welcome our client’s guests to The Great Hall at Goldsmiths next month - it’s going to be a fabulous evening!

In the wonderful world of events, we are not very often in the here and now as we find ourselves planning future events, which is definitely the case for me as I’m already organising summer conferences, founder retreats, awards dinners, and Christmas parties.

Yes, you read that right! I have received a number of Christmas party enquiries in my inbox since the start of the year that I am working on! This early planning seems to be very indicative of the year ahead.

Last year, many people said events were back, but for me it feels very much like 2024 is the year when events are back in abundance! Budgets are getting approved and signed off early doors and action is happening, whereas there still was some hesitancy this time last year.

In my new blog today I discuss my plans for the year ahead and the trends I am seeing for 2024. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a coffee and have a read!

Huge thanks to CHS Group for a fabulous Inspirational Venue Roadshow at De Vere Tortworth Court! It was super catching up with existing venue contacts, meeting new faces and of course making new venue connections!

My first time to the roadshow and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Great hospitality from Tortworth Court, super 1 2 1 meetings with incredible venues and a fun interactive drumming session with ACF Teambuilding followed by dinner in the hotel’s stunning Orangery.

Looking forward to joining the team at more roadshows in the future and making more connections!

Happy Monday, and what a week we’ve got coming up! It’s going to be a busy one making new connections, venue visits, a menu tasting, catching up with clients and finalising plans for a client’s event in March

Today we head to De Vere Tortworth Court in the Cotswolds for the Inspirational Venues Roadshow hosted by the Chs Group. I’m really looking forward to catching up with old faces and meeting new venue contacts, and of course making new venue connections

On Wednesday I’m heading into London for an action-packed day of client meetings to discuss their plans for 2024, together with a site visit and menu tasting at Goldsmiths Hall to finalise plans for a client’s evening reception there in March with a performance by the Southbank Sinfonia Orchestra.

This year I’ve taken up pilates - I should have started years ago!

I used to pride myself on my strength and balance, however this is now being proved otherwise! The wobbles, the tightness in my muscles and the lack of strength and movement has hit me (but not surprised me) - oh dear the signs of getting older lol!

I’ve been loving my weekly sessions and feel so much better afterwards and nicely stretched. It is definitely something I will be sticking to this year!

What a fabulous weekend spent with family down in Kent celebrating birthdays! One activity we all love is helping my brother fly his Harris hawk 🦅 She’s still young so our role was helping her learn to fly to different people and fly with people watching. My brother’s passion for falconry and birds of prey started before he was in his teens - to me he knew everything, and now his knowledge has just grown over the years and he has his dream of owning and flying his own birds. How would your guests at your event feel if they had the experience flying a bird of prey or watching a falconer put a falcon through its paces at speed using a lure? Excited? Wowed? I think so! 🤩 Falconry is a wonderful activity or entertainment for your events. A traditional country pursuits that brings guests together for a thoroughly interactive and memorable experience!

Sometimes you just need a bit of R&R…. I’m heading up to the moors in North Yorkshire and Cumbria this weekend and catching up with a great friend. I was up there last month and am hoping the weather tomorrow will be just like it was then! There is something about being out on the wide open moors all day - a complete escape and very good for the soul. Where do you head off to for a spot of R&R?
