The first airshow I ever tried to photograph was the 2015 Owensboro Air Show and the Air Force Thunderbirds. Going through some of these old photos I have come to realize I was pretty terrible at it. Here's a few re-worked photos.
Over the past 8 years I have learned a lot about what it takes to capture a jet moving at 700 mph. The weekend of September 15-17 the Thunderbirds returns to Owensboro and I will have my redemption.
The Garmin KC Air Show is next on my list featuring the Blue Angels, F-22 Raptor and the USMC F-35B Demo Teams in just a few weeks.

✨ The legendary P-51 Mustang dominated the skies over Western Europe after it was introduced in World War II. The single-seat aircraft had a maximum speed of 437 miles per hour and could es**rt heavy bombers deep into the heart of Germany. Bum Steer is a unique aircraft because of its two seats and dual controls. It was used as a ‘Trainer Fighter’ during the war since the pilot in training could operate the aircraft from the back seat. The P-51 and the pilots that flew them were crucial to turning the tide of war in the Allies' favor.
⭐Fast Facts:
■ Served in the 78th Fighter Group (aka “The Eagles of Duxford”) and the
84th Fighter Squadron during World War II
■ Max Speed: 425 mph
■ Cruising Speed: 275 mph
