I’m probably considered too soppy, but I say ‘I love you’ to my very select few A LOT! My Sons may roll their eyes a bit now but my word, do they know they are loved.

Children, Husband, wives, parents, siblings, best friends… ‘love you’, ‘drive safe’ - just bloody say it.. say it all and say it A LOT!

Enjoying that morning with your girls or your guys and getting phone calls, requests, sorting out things that have gone wrong.

What about during the drinks reception?! Have you got the list of family photos that need doing? Who needs to be in them?

There’s lots more, that you do not want to be doing as a Bride or Groom.

A type of ‘situational sadness’ that is likely to hit after the big day.

A couple of thought provoking ways to prevent the blues are:

Be mindful during the planning process- We can do this by paying attention to how we plan the wedding, how we make the day really special for both of us in a way that’s consistent with who we are, both individually and as a couple. It’s difficult to avoid comparison with other people’s weddings, but do try.

Focus on your long-term relationship- Pay attention to your day-to-day life, especially your relationship with each other, Yes, of course it is a special day, but there will be other wonderful moments in the lead-up to it and more afterward. Don’t put your life on hold. It’s important to keep talking to your partner in the run-up to your wedding even if there are some difficult things to discuss.

My support with continue after the wedding, as like we have seen here the blues are a real thing and after the phenomenal relationship we will build, I couldn’t just abandon you when you’re in the bad bits too… that’s not a relationship!

I utterly adore being around days after a wedding when the confetti is still in the grass and sometimes the floral arch may be up in the doorway of the Church. It makes you feel all the feelings… the joy that was felt, the happiness. Those glorious moments within the day. Just precious! A visit to @bridalemporiumjersey filled me with absolute joy yesterday. Sonya was just so welcoming, kind and genuine… and the dresses, they are utterly insane! Such varied price ranges and shapes. They most certainly cater to everyBODY! As someone that has struggled lots with personal image and weight, I can 100% guarantee that you would not have anything to worry about going into this glorious place. See you again soon!! The amount of different responses you get when this is googled is bonkers! There are so many factors, destination or home? Obvs if it’s destination they need to go out waaay earlier than a home wedding! But generally speaking, and if you have skipped the save-the-date expense… then we are talking about 3-6 months before the big day This seems like a very long time but the more notice people get, the more likely they are to attend. They will be able to get better deals in accommodation, potentially flights, (we are in jersey after all!)sort transport, confirm babysitters and budget… because weddings can be pretty expenny for the guests too!
