Marry Me, Hunnie Manitoba Marriage Commissioner, Marriage Licence Vendor, Custom Ceremony Creation, Baby Welcoming. We love to celebrate love!

We are provincially appointed Commissioners of Marriages in Manitoba. We would also be happy to preside over commitment ceremonies if you are in a common-law relationship. If you are planning a destination wedding, we offer legality ceremonies to register your marriage here and to avoid the costly and inconvenient "red tape" that may be necessary for some jurisdictions. If you would like to renew

your vows, we would be honoured to help you in that regard, as well. I will help you to custom-design a ceremony that reflects your unique personalities. We offer rehearsal services so that all interested parties will know what to do on your big day. Should you have a family member that you would like to preside over your ceremony, we can attend to provide the legal signatures without the need for your friend to assume the cost of registering as a one-time commissioner. As well, I can write a beautiful ceremony for your friend to deliver. I can also provide coaching and consultation services for your friend or family member to help them preside over your ceremony with confidence. We are also Manitoba Marriage Licence Vendors and can assist you in acquiring and completing that necessary legal document.

When I describe my Signature Ceremonies as “custom” or “personalized” what does that mean? It means I collaborate with my couples to craft a ceremony that centres on their love story. I ensure that the tone and themes of the text are cohesive. Readings and rituals should resonate with the couple and engage their guests. Sometimes, it means coming up with something a little…different! For Brittany & Brady, avid anglers, I wrote a brief piece entitled “Reel Love: The One that Didn’t Get Away”!

My wife and I selected Marry Me Hunnie after witnessing a great ceremony by Travis Hunnie. I reached out to Sheryl who responded very promptly. My first impressions were how professional Sheryl was. She did a fantastic job of connecting with us, hearing our story and trying to understand who we were as a couple.

Sheryl was a tremendous help with providing some frameworks for our custom ceremony. My wife and I worked with Sheryl on the format of our ceremony - Leading up to the ceremony, she made things incredibly easy!!!

It is fitting that Kendra and Jordan were married at The White Poplar. The giant LOVE sign set the scene: their ceremony was so romantic! We included a reading by Robert Fulham, the Blessing of the Hands, and words by an anonymous writer that speak to a “once-in-a-lifetime” love. At the heart of their ceremony was a little about their relationship and what makes them unique!

With spring seemingly around the corner, I am getting excited for outside ceremonies! Pineridge Hollow was the setting for Brittni and Dustin’s September wedding. The sentiment reflected on their sign “together they built a life they loved” was the theme of the ceremony we wrote together.

Alishya and Riley’s September ceremony was gorgeous! I loved that they incorporated a ring warming ceremony; there is something beautiful about filling your day with moments of intention and having you family imbue your rings with love and good wishes just feels right. They also chose readings that reinforced their bond of friendship and how well they fit together.
One of my favourite moments was when Alishya decided to be completely comfortable for the ceremony and came down the aisle in her fuzzy white slippers. ❤️

Welcome to Alina & Derek’s wedding at Scotswood Links! It was a scorcher…made all the more so by sun reflecting off the white runner. What a sweet young couple these two are. They met in high school and have, in essence grown up together. They look forward to growing old together, too! We created a beautiful, romantic ceremony for them, centered on how they have been working to build a firm foundation for the years of marriage to come.

When couples bring their own kind of whimsy to their wedding day, my heart is happy! Sarah and Devon’s salt and pepper shaker collection had a place of honour and their table number illustrations were delightful renderings of them. Their romantic ceremony included the exchange of personal vows, a hand fasting ritual, and two of my favourite readings!
It was such a delight to work with them.

In these cold winter days, I love to look back at summer!
Renée and Mat were married at the iconic Pavilion at Assiniboine Park on a beautiful day in August.
Their Signature ceremony was a mix of tradition, romance, and humour that evoked both smiles and sighs. When it came time for them to share their personal vows, it was clear that Renée and Mat bring out the best in the another and want nothing but the best for each other.

I first met Danielle when she was a middle school student. Almost two decades later, we became neighbours. It was lovely to get to know her again, this time as an adult. We both moved to other neighbourhoods, but kept in touch. I was delighted for her when Kaz entered her life, and thrilled to be asked to officiate their beautiful backyard wedding!

What I love about this photo is that includes two generations of couples I have married! What a lovely family this is. It's such a pleasure to spend time with them.

When Maggie and Jesse were married at The Gates this past summer, we wanted to find a fun way to include their son, a Star Wars enthusiast. The processional music was one way and another was the creation of Star Wars themed Family Certificate that they all signed during the ceremony to show they had officially “joined Forces”.

I loved participating in the Engaged Boutique Wedding Show. It was wonderful to meet so many couples excited to be getting married in 2025 & 2026! This show is so different as it offers many opportunities for authentic conversations. I am not sure why I requested a chair for my booth, though...I never had time to sit down!
In the weeks following the show, I have been booking steadily...which means summer 2025 dates are few and far between and my 2026 calendar is filling up. Before the ceremony begins, I'm the first person your guests will hear from. One of my jobs is to greet your friends and family, give them some important information, and help create the tone. Announcements can sometimes feel like a lot of rules to be followed, so it's important they be given some context. "No photos during the ceremony" (because the couple wants you to be truly present). "Immediately after the ceremony, the couple will be working with their photographer" (and they look forward to visiting with you and enjoying cocktail hour as soon as they are done!)
When I am at the front, I can also see if there are empty rows near the front and quickly shuffle some guests forward, creating better photos.
Although I would have done an early sound check, announcement time can be a great opportunity to ensure the folks at the back can hear clearly.

Isabella and Brad were married on one of the windiest days of the summer! How fitting that they were married at Breezy Bend!
