Here’s a little something about me:
I have been a marriage commissioner for over 15 years and have performed close to a thousand ceremonies during that time. I absolutely love being a part of these special celebrations but have always felt a little sad that my mum didn’t live to see this chapter of my life. She would have loved hearing about the dresses, the flowers, and the ceremonies and I know I would have called her on my way home to tell her all the details. Because I can’t do that, instead I bring a little of her along to every ceremony by wearing her wedding pearls and earrings. 🩷

It was a delight to marry Kiefer and Sasha! I first met Kiefer when he was my teacher candidate and remember him talking about his girlfriend. It was an honour to be asked to take part in their wedding! I loved their spiral seating arrangement that put them at the heart.

When I describe my Signature Ceremonies as “custom” or “personalized” what does that mean? It means I collaborate with my couples to craft a ceremony that centres on their love story. I ensure that the tone and themes of the text are cohesive. Readings and rituals should resonate with the couple and engage their guests. Sometimes, it means coming up with something a little…different! For Brittany & Brady, avid anglers, I wrote a brief piece entitled “Reel Love: The One that Didn’t Get Away”!

My wife and I selected Marry Me Hunnie after witnessing a great ceremony by Travis Hunnie. I reached out to Sheryl who responded very promptly. My first impressions were how professional Sheryl was. She did a fantastic job of connecting with us, hearing our story and trying to understand who we were as a couple.

Sheryl was a tremendous help with providing some frameworks for our custom ceremony. My wife and I worked with Sheryl on the format of our ceremony - Leading up to the ceremony, she made things incredibly easy!!!

It is fitting that Kendra and Jordan were married at The White Poplar. The giant LOVE sign set the scene: their ceremony was so romantic! We included a reading by Robert Fulham, the Blessing of the Hands, and words by an anonymous writer that speak to a “once-in-a-lifetime” love. At the heart of their ceremony was a little about their relationship and what makes them unique!

With spring seemingly around the corner, I am getting excited for outside ceremonies! Pineridge Hollow was the setting for Brittni and Dustin’s September wedding. The sentiment reflected on their sign “together they built a life they loved” was the theme of the ceremony we wrote together.

Alishya and Riley’s September ceremony was gorgeous! I loved that they incorporated a ring warming ceremony; there is something beautiful about filling your day with moments of intention and having you family imbue your rings with love and good wishes just feels right. They also chose readings that reinforced their bond of friendship and how well they fit together.
One of my favourite moments was when Alishya decided to be completely comfortable for the ceremony and came down the aisle in her fuzzy white slippers. ❤️

Welcome to Alina & Derek’s wedding at Scotswood Links! It was a scorcher…made all the more so by sun reflecting off the white runner. What a sweet young couple these two are. They met in high school and have, in essence grown up together. They look forward to growing old together, too! We created a beautiful, romantic ceremony for them, centered on how they have been working to build a firm foundation for the years of marriage to come.
