Let’s chat about speeches! Wedding speeches are such a special part of the evening, and timing is everything. ✨

One option we love is starting with a welcome speech or prayer right after the grand entrance. This can be a heartfelt message from the bride and groom or a family member, thanking guests and setting the tone for the night.

The main speeches typically happen once dinner is nearly over, and here’s why this timing works so well:

— The bride and groom are fed and ready to fully enjoy the rest of the night.
— Vendors get a break and a chance to eat, ensuring they’re prepared to capture every moment during the evening’s formalities.
— Speech givers are fed and hydrated! Nerves can run high, so we like to give them a 10-15 minute notice before they go up.
— Depending on your dinner service style (buffet, family-style, or plated), having speeches after dinner avoids distractions like guests walking around or the clinking of plates and silverware.
— Key evening elements, such as your cake, desserts, or dance floor props, can be delivered and set up once dinner is complete.
— Sunset photos? Yes, please! Once your creative team has eaten, this timing often allows for a quick session before the party kicks off.
— Everyone is energized, relaxed, and ready to enjoy the rest of the celebration!
