Before I started floristry I went through a few years of loneliness and depression. As I searched for what really brought me joy, I was led to creative outlets and my favorite was creating with flowers.
Flowers have healing properties and you can’t help but feel happy as they demand your attention.
But probably the most beneficial element of my job is the people I get to meet. We are wired for human connection and sometimes when you’re in the trenches of motherhood, especially if you’re a SAHM, you don’t always get that.
Plus we all know women need women and I have made some pretty awesome connections. From the head florists I get to stand in awe of and learn from to the other very cool, 20 something freelancers. Some are so young I could be their mom, but they still talk to me and make great friends. And how else would I have met them?
Thank you, Meg (@harvestfloralcompany) for a fabulous couple of days!
I was thrilled to make this bride’s bouquet for her bridals today. Bridal bouquets are something I’ve just started to do and it always makes me nervous because of how special a day it is, but it turned out and she looks beautiful. Can’t wait to see her edited photos!
@hollychapple thank you for a wonderful floral workshop. It was so fun and informative. #livinglifewithflowers #utahflowers
