🌈They’re here! LGBT planners are now available! I’ve been working on having a non-gendered, non-binary LGBTQIA+ planner for years, and in celebration of , I had to get it done! For the moment, just our full planner is available (adding new cover designs daily!), but there are more in the works including our Basics planner and wedding kits!

Guys. We all remember last year, right? Welp, the second Gift-Wrapped Apocalypse has already started. Here's a shop update for the holiday season!
All products will be available from now until 11/26, when we have our annual One & Only Sale on Black Friday. Starting 11/27, only stamps will be available until 12/26, and with Priority shipping only. If you need a planner for a holiday proposal, grab one now!
Big things are happening for us at the end of the month, including a move! The shop will be packed up, which means planners, binders, tabs and kits won't be available until after Christmas sometime, when I've had time to unpack and set up the new studio.

Yeah. So. Totally forgot to come back and mention the shop reopened on Monday 😆
But. I'm going to take a social media break. With prepping for the holidays, truthfully I don't have the time (or desire) to keep up with the constant Instagram changes. Not that I even know what those changes are 😭 (something about sharing?) - I'm pretty happy being Instagram ignorant, HA!
KEEP tagging us, though! We LOVE to see happy customers open their orders, and the beautiful work our wedding vendor friends are producing. I'll be stopping in once per day to check tags and messages.
I'm also working on some new, awesome stuff that I can't wait to share! So I'll pop back in when it's ready ❤️

I've put the Etsy shop on vacation this week, but my website is still open and accepting orders - so if you're looking for planners (or other gifts!), you can head over there to order.
Honestly - I needed a break. I've pretty much been working nonstop since December of last year. I've had a day or weekend off here and there, but never put the shop on vacation, meaning I came home to tons of orders and started that week behind (wish isn't super motivating to take time off...) I noticed recently that I had started making a lot of dumb mistakes, because my brain was just burnt out.
When you own your own business, self-care goes right to the bottom of the list. As much as you try to make time for it, orders always come first. People pay me for a product and I take that seriously. There are no paid vacations, and taking any time for myself always comes with this heaping mound of guilt. Guilt that I'm losing income, guilt that I'm not able to just push through, guilt that I'm not grateful enough for all of the success I've had these past 18 months when other businesses have struggled and/or closed.
I'm not sure anyone has read this far (because my feed is ☠️ ) - but if you did, and you also own a small business and are struggling - you aren't alone. E-commerce can be incredibly isolating. If you have any tips or advice, I'd love to hear it! My first (ever!) employee starts next week, so I keep telling myself this is only temporary. But I guess everything is, right?

Guys, fall is almost here, how did that happen? I love autumn in New England more than anything - but can I just hang onto summer for a few more weeks? Especially all the green, growing things and outdoor dining. (Who am I kidding - I've eaten brunch in the snow ⛄).

Happy Monday, friends! How are we at the end of August already?! So thankful it didn't rain the whole time (I'm looking at you, July 😒). How was your summer?

Ok. I almost hate to use the word "theme" here, because it can conjure up antiquated ideas to ridiculously matchy-matchy decor. (Full disclosure - I had two themes for my wedding; Vintage Boston and 'Til Death Do Us Part - it was Halloween, I had to throw SOME skulls in there. I took both too far. No shame.)
Back in the day, "theme" used to mean, "I'm doing a beach wedding" or "I'm doing a Harry Potter wedding" (it happens) - but the term is a bit looser now. Essentially, it's coming up with a palette for the day. Weddings no longer feature 1 or 2 colors (WHY were we trying to be like sports teams??), but instead encompasses a wide array of colors, patterns and styles. Which means, they can also be trickier to pull together without professional help.
So where to start? Please, for the love of God, don't go on Pinterest (yet!). Sit with yourself for a minute. When you think of you and your fiancè as a couple, what words define you? Are you travelers? (adventure, outdoors, culture) Are you the last to leave the dance floor? (fun, bright) Are you a bit reserved? (traditional, elegant).
Next - when you think of those words, how do they translate to your wedding? What is the feeling that you want your guests to share?
Now that you have some basic framework, you can start looking for inspiration. Filter out anything that doesn't fit your guide words (and there will be a LOT to filter - don't get overwhelmed). It's very easy to fall into "shiny object syndrome" when planning your wedding - everything looks amazing while you're browsing and you'll want to try and fit it all in.
But take a breath, remember what defines you as a couple (and therefore your wedding!) and start making a list! I can assure you that once you gather together images and colors that inspire you, the big picture will become clear ❤️

One thing I never mastered: calligraphy. My handwriting is barely legible on a good day 😆 When it came to my own wedding invites, I definitely sent those envelopes to a pro! How amazing does this handwritten suite look? 🤩

Let's chat for a minute about finding oh-so-perfect vendors for your wedding. Because the second you get engaged, one of the first places you're going to go is the internet - and there's just too much there. A quick search for "wedding photographers near me" brought up - wait for it - 256,000,000 listings. Yeah.
So how can you sort through all this mess? You'll need to get social. Start asking your friends and family members for direct recommendations. The greatest thing about reviews from people you know is that they're honest (usually).
Next - and this is how I personally found my vendors (because Instagram wasn't even a thing in 2009) - is to join a group with other brides. For me, it was the knot forums (not sure if those are still a thing?). Not only did I get authentic, unfiltered reviews - but I made friends - some of whom I kept in touch with a decade after my wedding.
I recommend making a list of your top 3 vendors for each component of your wedding, and immediately send them an inquiry. Based on availably, that list will get shorter - and takes a lot of stress off of you since now you can focus on researching only the vendors who are available for your wedding (and clicking ❌ on that list of 256,000,000 photographers - no one has time for that 😆 ).

I'm so excited to finally share this amazing wedding with you. My brother Andrew was married in September and he and Stephen let me completely take over their wedding. Invites, flowers, decor, details - I did it all (with help from my incredibly handy husband and mother). It's been awhile, but as you can see - I've been busy. I took some time off to focus on interior design, but orders still came in so I've reopened the shop. AND designed a new website, AND new wedding stationery. I hope you guys love it!
