So try to lock this down ASAP! Make sure to read the fine print of the contract. Owning a venue is NO JOKE! So there are a lot of insurance type things addressed in the contract. Many venues do not allow open flames, on-site food from a none licensed caterer, fog machines. So make sure you read the contract and ask all the questions! DIY weddings are all the rage, and I am 100% for it, but please save yourself some stress and delegate some of those things to the people around you. Get cupcakes pre-made and have your little cousin put the candy pearls on them the morning of. Make the beautiful arrangements, but get someone else in charge of getting them to the venue and set up. Delegate as much as you can the day before and the day of so you can BE THE BRIDE!! That's your job! When talking to your photographer make sure to set your ceremony time and plan photos around that but ALSO when the sun will set!! So many times I have been asked to officiate the day of a wedding that I did not help plan and the timing is off with the allotted amount of time for the photographer and when the sun will set. WINDOWS! do you want that dreamy sunset light coming through the window on your beautifully decorated bridal face, casting the romantic glow on the accents of your jewelry and dress? Do you want the light coming through sheer curtains with your dress hanging infront of the window? These kinds of photography poses and lighting ideas require some sun.
