Playing Glasgow’s George Square as part of the Glasgow Winterfest 2023 was a blast. It was a special treat for us four Glasgow lads who felt very proud to have done our thing in our hometown square. A big thanks to The Clutha Trust, Carlton Studios and Joy, The Clutha Bar for making this all happen. A big thanks to Gary Anderson for setting it all up for Somethin’ Else. A VERY SPECIAL thanks to all of YOU, our dedicated pals who we know and love who came along to watch our show in the wind and rain……superb guys…….yet, the weather added drama to what was a brilliant evening and event. We Are Back.......Somethin’ Else are going back into the studio this Friday 7th May for the first time in over a year!!!! Yahoo. We are really looking forward to meeting up as a band again and hope to make this year a special year for our gigs and followers because we all know better than ever how fragile the world and life is. What a year 2020 has been for us all. Worse for many others...and our thoughts are with them.

So...Somethin’ Else would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a fantastically different New Year 2021.

Even better news.....The Band’s two cancelled gigs at the Ferry have been rescheduled in 2021...details will follow next year....BUT we ask this simple request....IF we get the live music back on the go...please make a commitment to come along and celebrate our freedom from the pandemic...and as always........we will get you all in the back door on us!

Somethin’ Else would like to send our Love and Peace to all Belarusians at this particular time especially to those bravehearts who have had to tolerate brutality. We are not a political band per se, but as individuals we do have political views. The band were shown nothing but love and kindness when we visited Minsk in 2018 and again in 2019 to play some rock music to the un-free people of Minsk. We were acutely aware of the country’s current affairs and slipped a few songs into our set-list to keep us solid and kinda connected. This is a supportive video from 2019 to say we are with your all. ...................Stay Safe Belarusian friends.

Something different from Somethin’ Else. Back in 2018 the band were delighted to have as our guest in the studio Elaine Koo, Chinese rock and pop singer/guitarist. For contract reasons (Elaine’s, not ours) we were unable to share this story at the time, but 2 years on and no incriminating photos to be worried about, here is a snap of Elaine with the band after rehearsals. It was a gas.....Elaine struggled with our English and our Glaswegian accents, but when we jammed, we all spoke that same international shared language...MUSIC. Look her up on the internet sometime. Keep Safe and see you all soon we hope.
