Q: How did you get started in your business?
I got started in my business during COVID. Like many people, I was finding my niche and I always loved baking, so I capitalized on that passion to grow Sweets By Keet as it is known today.

Q: What products and or services do you offer?
I offer sweets for pleasure and special occasions. Whether you just want to snack on cookies or brownies, or need a custom cake for a weeding, I got you covered. I also make banana pudding, lactation cookies for breastfeeding moms, peach cobbler, cupcakes, and cake jars.

Q: What is your position in this business? (i.e. Founder, Owner, Associate)
I am the founder and baker of my business.


Q: What's one thing you’ve learned while working in your field?
One thing I’ve learned by working in this field is my preference in which I bake certain goodies. Let me elaborate…I love to use dark pans for baking brownies and pound cakes. I love to use light (aluminum) pans for baking cakes. I have found that with darker pans, my cakes brown faster on the bottom and sides and I don’t really like that for my cakes. I know, who would’ve thought?

Q: How has the MBL helped you?
MBL has helped me by expanding my reach to other local businesses in the area. I have also attended the phenomenal women’s luncheon before and it was an amazing experience.

Tomorrow's the big day for our non-profit partner, Fostering Hope RVA

FH welcomes little Ms. "Pretty in Pink" herself, Iesha Mason, as she will be overseeing on Fashion Showcase tomorrow.
Iesha is our FH brand ambassador, and Image Consultant. She is working her way into a more permanent role with us that will probably take place in the Summer over Camp as she transitions into one of her passions-working with young girls.

This passion will come into play tomorrow bc most of our participating models are foster teens themselves and can use Iesha's confidence building practices in modeling. 💗

We are also about to suprise them and they don't know that they are getting Christmas gifts from us as well.
We partnered with Dress for Success Central Virginia and FH is going to gift the young ladies the clothes they will be wearing for use when they are ready to interview and begin their employment journey.

An sweet employee at McGuireWoods LLP, Tara Hawkins, went the extra mile and reached out to Dillards and has sample packs donated for the girls.

We are all excited over here! are you????
