In less than one month our 2024 wedding season kicks off! ✨

After four months off we’ll begin with a double wedding weekend (I know, I know, I said we wouldn’t be doing those anymore) starting with Alicia + Micheal seen here ⤴️

The highlight of a double wedding weekend is how different their styles will be. One will be a laid back, renewable farm vibe and the other one is themed “rave to the grave” 🪦⚡️

So here’s to gearing up for another wild year of weddings and remembering to take more BTS content!!

Hi, Hello, how the heck are ya!👋 You’ve landed yourself on the Rock n’ Willow Events page!

We consist of Angela and Silvia - your neighborhood alternative wedding planning specialists keeping the balance between Goth, Glam, & everything in between since 2013.

Angela is the main voice behind these posts as Silvia has stepped back to focus on her medical career, but together we are foster moms who recently adopted a little boy. We currently have a 3 year old and a one year old under our care and 11 weddings for 2024 💪

We hope you stay following along even though we don’t post as much as we used to. Sorry, we’re in our working Mom Era 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦

It’s never too late for a year in review right? I figured no better time than the present (plus I found two minutes to hide from my kids) 😆

Well first, a round of applause for me 👏 I survived my first full year with two kids while full time wedding planning. We welcomed 7 more couples last year bringing our total to 122 weddings these past 10 years. I need to personally thank our 2023 couples for putting up with sick kids, kids on business calls, and even kids attending weddings! I really beat myself up last year for not showing up how I used to before kids. The reality is that I am “that mom” and “that business owner” where I have to mesh the two together.

Today Rock n’ Willow turns 1️⃣0️⃣ years old!!

We have survived over 100 weddings, being entrepreneurs in our 20’s, a partnership dissolution, a total rebrand which included a name change, working along side our spouse, a pandemic, a journey into motherhood, countless assistants, and most importantly- we survived the Burlap & Lace trend 😂

I have to admit that it’s been hard watching the surge in the wedding industry post-pandemic and having to sit back because we chose to become foster parents through it.

Funny thing is though that at the beginning of 2020 I had my mind made up that I was going to walk away from all of this. It took the world shutting down to make me realize that what I actually wanted was to step aside from my primary job in the medical field (I was a pharmacy technician for 15 years!) to focus on RnW.

I still have so much more to prove in the wedding world and still some stigmas I need to shake up so I can’t wait to see where the next 10 years takes us.

For now my priority besides being a foster mom and fabulous wife is being there for all of YOU! I’m ready to explore new and fun wedding ideas and continue to highlight offbeat couples. Remember, RnW is for the Goth, Glam, & everything in between!

✨Happy New Year✨

It’s officially 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ and who’s ready for our first Friday Introduction of the new year?! 🙋‍♀️

We are Angela (L) + Silvia (R), you’re neighborhood alternative party planners!

This year in May marks our 10th year as a business and that’s absolutely bonkers! What once started off as a passion project for Angela in high school grew into a business in 2013 with a little help from Silvia’s master mind.

Last year Silvia stepped back to focus on her career but it’s all good cuz she stepped back so that Angela could blossom into the leader roll. Chances are you met one of our assistants in her place and still had a rockin’ wedding!!

We hope you stick around and see what’s in store from us this year! Hopefully it includes some website updates and IG reels 😆

Goodbye 2022 ✨

This year we had 34 inquiries, 9 bookings, completed 7 weddings, and had 2 cancellations bringing our total to 114 weddings over the past nine years.

We had 9 weddings on the books but one unfortunately had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances and one we actually canceled. This is the first time we initiated something like that but in 2022 I stuck to my boundaries and if a wedding or a couple was toxic and could not agree to our contract then we saw no other choice but to part ways. Business owners don’t talk about letting clients go for fear that it makes us look arrogant like we can just book any wedding. In reality we should be more open and remind our clients that we are people too.

Our this year really excites me since it’s so diverse! We stuck to our alternative weddings while starting to define what “alternative” really means. Plus, this year we completed the most same s*x weddings than in any previous year (heck yeah! 🌈)

As Silvia stepped back I, Angela, have really come into my own and I’m super pumped to see what next year holds!!
