Colonial Beach Christmas House Tour for the Holidays

In honor of Betty Whitestone our longest serving volunteer, welcome to the 22nd Annual Colonial Beach Christmas House Tour for the Holidays

For over 22 years Colonial Beach has enjoyed our Christmas House Tour for the Holidays. We have handpicked some wonderful homes for you to enjoy. This year there will be 3 tour times and several tour routes. All tours start at the Colonial Beach History Museum. You can enjoy the shuttle bus for an additional fee or take a self guided driving tour. You must start your tour at the museum to get your pass and tour maps or trolley ticket.

Once you depart from the Colonial Beach History Museum, you will embark on a journey through beautifully decorated homes that showcase the charm and spirit of the holiday season. Immerse yourself in the warm atmosphere as you explore each unique house, adorned with twinkling lights and enchanting decorations.
VIP Finale Event on Sunday evening is available in addition at Foxhaven, 901 Irving Avenue, Colonial Beach. This exclusive party is an additional fundraiser for the Museum. This event is separate from the House Tours.​ Discover the history and traditions of Colonial Beach while enjoying the company of fellow holiday enthusiasts. This in-person event offers a wonderful opportunity to gather inspiration for your own holiday decor or simply revel in the joyous ambiance of the season.

Colonial Yacht Club Lighted Boat Parade

Sponsored by the Colonial Yacht Club, the Lighted Boat Parade for 2023 show cased some fantastic decorations. This year, 2024, we are going to make a departure from past parades and show case many more boats. Boaters and spectators should mark their calendars.

Boats will gather at 4:30 PM at buoy 2 on the Potomac River, just outside CB. At 5:00 the boat parade will start and proceed to the town pier, to arrive at 5:15, then continue to past 12th street. There the boats will turn and proceed back to Monroe Bay. An after party will start at Dockside at 7:00, when the awards are announced. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded in four categories: Yacht 35+', Cruiser

Santa's Wonderland & Winter Festival Parade

Experience the enchantment of the holiday season at Santa's Wonderland & Winter Festival Parade in Colonial Beach! Town Hill, located at the corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues, transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland adorned with twinkling lights, festive Christmas trees, whimsical elves, and cheerful snowmen. The festivities kick off with a procession of beautifully decorated cars, golf carts, and floats, all leading up to the grand entrance of everyone's favorite jolly old soul – Santa Claus himself!

Get ready for a holly, jolly time filled with delightful activities. Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate, decorate scrumptious cookies, create holiday-themed arts and crafts, cozy up by the fire pit, and let the melodies of Christmas music fill the air.
