We're Celebrating May Day for Mutts! Along with National Purebred Dog Day, National Rescue Dog Day, and National Pet Week.
Our Annual Dog Day in Colonial Beach is held each year as a memorial to Sharon Smith, who founded the event in 2011. Join us for a laid-back, kid-friendly, fun filled morning for dogs and their people to benefit the Colonial Beach Humane Society and Colonial Beach Rivah Dogs. We are back on the hill next to Dockside Tiki Bar this year.
Register for amateur games including tricks, stay & recall, mini-agility, find a bone, frisbee catch, tennis ball retrieval, water retrieval, and our famous Pet Parade with multiple awards including biggest, smallest, oldest, and youngest dog; best 6 legs (polite leash walking), best youth handler, best costume, and more! This is the largest and longest running dog event in the Colonial Beach Area. All dog-friendly and people-friendly dogs, and their people, are welcome whether you participate or just watch!

Town Hill, located at the corner of Colonial and Washington Avenues, transforms into a magical Christmas wonderland adorned with twinkling lights, festive Christmas trees, whimsical elves, and cheerful snowmen. The festivities kick off with a procession of beautifully decorated cars, golf carts, and floats, all leading up to the grand entrance of everyone’s favorite jolly old soul – Santa Claus himself!
Get ready for a holly, jolly time filled with delightful activities. Warm up with a cup of hot chocolate, decorate scrumptious cookies, create holiday-themed arts and crafts, cozy up by the fire pit, and let the melodies of Christmas music fill the air. Explore vendor tents for unique gifts and indulge in delicious treats. Don’t miss your chance to write heartfelt letters to Santa and, of course, have your picture taken with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, spreading holiday cheer to kids and kids-at-heart alike. 19th Annual Caledon State Park Art and Wine Festival

Come join the Friends of Caledon State Park for one of their biggest events of the year-the annual Art and Wine festival! This festival has been going strong for more than 17 years. We have local Virginia wineries for sampling, artisans, food trucks, non-profit organizations, music vendors, and sponsors. We also have face painting for the kids! Come spend either Saturday November 2nd (10am-5pm) or Sunday November 3rd (10am-4pm) with us (bring the family) and spend a relaxing day outdoors with us and enjoy the local fare. This event will be held rain or shine!

The festival is free to those who are not purchasing a wine tasting ticket. Just pay to park. You must be 21 years and older to purchase a wine tasting ticket. ID’s will be checked at the gate. This ticket includes wine tastings from all the wine/cider/mead vendors and your choice of a stemless wine glass or wine glass with a stem.

Potomac River Festival

The Annual Potomac River Festival in Colonial Beach kicks off a loud and proud Firemen’s Parade around the point. The festival features a Grand Parade, Pet Parade, Boat Parade, Beauty Pageant, music, food and craft vendors, and fireworks.
