Another Bike Run in the books! Not too many pics from the motorcycle run we did Sunday but lots of happy kids. And because of those happy kids, we were able to donate to a charity that helps sick kids and their families. My favorite event of the year and our 21st year being part of it! Friends- THIS is why we’ve been part of this event for the past 21 years! It’s all about the kids! Come out, enjoy the music and the food and the face painting. But at the end of the day, leave all your money for the kids! It stays local and does so mich good! See you Sunday!!

Hi Friends!
While we know the VWH Annual Benefit is the biggest and best party around, there is a much larger reason why we do it. The proceeds from this weekend help local families all year long but each year, we “adopt” a child and their family that really need us. This year, we’d like to introduce you to Sadie.

Sadie’s health journey began in February when she was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer. Thankfully, tests confirmed it was confined to her left lower leg and had not spread. Sadie and her family travel to CHOP for her rigorous chemotherapy schedule. As Sadie’s dad has said “We love Sadie more than I can put into words. Dealing with her illness has been truly miserable and there are moments when it feels unbearable”. Sadie started treatment in February and will continue until the end of October. After that, she will be monitored every three months for signs of reoccurrence. At that point, she will also begin extensive rehabilitation to learn to walk with a prosthetic leg, as the cancer has left her an amputee. The rehab will be both inpatient and outpatient, depending on the type. Sadie still has a long journey ahead of her, but as you can see, cancer may have robbed her of so many things….but her spirit is not one of them. ❤️❤️

Since moving from NEPA, Marie has created a new business in her New Jersey home. Whimsy Fire Party Arts! (Check it out and give her a follow!) She was kind enough to come and help out at Kielbasa Fest as well as the St Judes Festival in Mountaintop! She shared the photos she was able to capture from her time here. Ruth grabbed a couple too, with Marie and Karen! Big shout out to both for answering the call and coming to help on such a Crazy weekend! The rain date has not been set yet, but when we know, we’ll share the news. We were looking forward to it, too, but better safe than sorry.

Friday Greetings, Face Paint Fans! Are you ready for the weekend? We sure are! Saturday we’ll be at the Greater Scranton YMCA for their Wellness event from 11-2! From there we WERE scheduled to make a quick run to Nanticoke for the Big Bang celebration! However the weather decided to change things up for us. Big Bang is now going to be SUNDAY! Gates open at 4 PM for an afternoon/evening of crafts, music, food, and facepainting all finishing up with FIREWORKS at dusk. Vendors include RDC Crafts, Knit Wits, Laz-r Tagged, a moon bounce, petting zoo and SO MUCH MORE!

We had a great time at Edwardsville "Pierogi" Festival! Painted about 300 smiles, got to visit with some “old” friends including 2 beautiful young ladies we’ve been painting since they were 2 and each just graduated from high school. (I’m not feeling old at all!! Lol) Also had some great food from Lou's Concessions, Yogi's Potato Pancakes, and a new truck to me 2Wayz One Passion -BBQ Pulled Pork Nachos that were AMAZING! Got to hang with our friends from Dead Ahead Gifts, Laz-r Tagged, Olde Time Jewelry before the parade arrived and it got busy. And saw some awesome-as-usual caricatures from John Krupa at Kiddie Kartunes. Even got my picture taken with Bluey!! Bonus - i got to spend my weekend with my amazing nieces! I LOVE my job!
