Why you need a rain plan for your wedding and how to prepare 👇Having a rain plan is KEY to any outdoor event, and to ensuring that you can be stress-free no matter what the weather brings.

Here are our top tips for a rain plan and things you can’t forget!

☂️ Monitor the weather the days leading up to the wedding. This way you can start preparing ahead of the day if you need to.

☂️ Communicate with everyone! Let your guests know through your wedding website or social media how they should prepare and communicate with your vendors on what the alternate plans are.

☂️ Have a backup indoor venue. This could be a prepared tent with siding or a nearby hotel.

☂️ Have some umbrellas and shelter on hand. If you can’t escape the rain having some on-theme umbrellas can add a cozy touch to your photos.

☂️ Prep your decor. If you’re planning on being outside regardless of the weather, make sure you have decorations and furniture that can withstand the elements.

☂️ Stay flexible and stay positive! We know it can be a bummer when the weather doesn’t cooperate, but it can also add to the adventure of your day! The more you’re able to laugh at the situation, the easier it will be to still enjoy the moment.

We always make sure our event has a rain plan if they’re having an outside wedding (which is almost every wedding we do!) That’s just one of the benefits of working with us as your planner - we’ll make sure there’s a plan in place for every scenario, so you can show up and enjoy no matter what the weather brings 🌧

What to NOT miss when planning your dreamy outdoor wedding 👇🌲Adventure-filled weddings are our jam, and after planning hundreds of them, we know exactly what you can and can’t miss.

🎨 Natural Color Palette: Choose decor that complements the natural surroundings, such as earthy tones, soft pastels, or pops of vibrant colors inspired by the landscape.

☔️ Rain / Weather Plan: Prepare for it all! Make sure you have a rain plan in place with alternative locations and umbrellas for guests if needed. You could also offer blankets if you expect it to be cold or fans if it’s going to be toasty. Make sure the guests are comfortable!

✨ Intentional Lighting: Create a magical atmosphere with outdoor lighting options such as string lights, lanterns, candles, or torches to illuminate pathways, seating areas, and dance floors.

Lighting can make a HUGE difference when it comes to setting the mood for an event. Not only will it be a big part of your decor but it can greatly affect how your guests feel as the night goes on.For example: Dinner time should be cozy, with soft candlelight for that more intimate and romantic feel. On the other hand, dancing should be dark with fun colored uplights, disco lights or even lasers if you're feelin' wild!

It's about time we show are faces here! Let me introduce you to the Cause We Can Events team. From left to right we have:Jessica: She is based in Maine but still travels to produce events all over. Born and raised in California, Jess is now a Mainer thru and thru. When she's not designing and planning events, she's out mucking horse stalls and enjoying sunset cocktails on friends' lobster boats.

Megan: She's our Tennessee gal who is as cool as a cucumber. With experience in bartending, florals and even as a venue rep, Megan is knowledgeable and highly experienced in the wedding industry. When she's not planning, Megan enjoying some down time with her husband and her cat, Lisa.

Gabby: She is the founder of CWCE, a Canadian and yet another horse girl. She dreams of designing intimate weddings in exotic locations but also totally content making sourdough bread at home during the off-season. She’s also an expert in all things catering!

Abby: Our bubbly and hip Pennsylvania girl. She is a doer and forever optimist. Abby isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty and is very knowledgeable when it comes to food and beverage set ups. Everyone needs an Abby on their team!

I don't know who needs to hear this but the ONE thing you need to focus on in order to stand out as a wedding pro in 2024 is... 💬 COMMUNICATION 💬

Let me tell you, if you can be a wedding pro or any business owner for that matter who is clear about how, when and where they will communicate, you are already 100 miles ahead in the race.

We have booked so many clients just based off the simple fact that we responded to their inquiry when we said we would. Crazy, right? And hey, if you want more tips on how to stand out as a wedding pro, comment or DM me GETTING STARTED and I'll send you a whole list! of what we did as a team.

What does good communication look like?

💬 Including an automated response in your inquiry form telling clients when they can expect an answer from you.
💬 Putting an OOO on your email when you are away from your desk.
💬 Sending a welcome guide with a "communication" section to all your new clients.
💬 Gently reminding clients and vendors about your communication guidelines if they text outside of office hours.
💬 Block out days in your schedule to respond to everyone or hire a virtual assistant to help respond to inquiries! Don't overbook yourself, friend.

🍷 Have extra bartenders/servers pass red and white wine at the start of cocktail hour
🍷 Limit your bar menu
🍷 Hire 1 bartender per 50 guests
🍷 Ask your bar team to batch the signature cocktails
