🇿🇦The first black Africans to compete in the Olympics were Tswana tribesmen from South Africa

August 30 1904, two Tswana tribesmen, Len Tau (Len Taunyane) and Yasmani ( Jan Mashiani), they were referred to as LenTau and Yasmani because officials could not pronounce their surnames, became the first black Africans to compete in the modern Olympics when they ran in the Summer Olympics men's marathon held in St Louis. They had been in St Louis on a Boer Ear Exbibit in Louisiana Purchase Exposition held alongside games when they decided to enter the marathon at the last minute.

Tau ran barefoot on an insuitable course and over dusty roads, so dusty that it caused many of the athletes to collapse. Tau finished ninth and Mashiani came twelfth. This was a disappointing to Tau as many observers were sure he could have done better if he had not been chased nearly a mile off course by aggressive dogs.

Cleveland couple Kenneth & Sheila Gibson had their wedding on July 23rd, 1977 at the McDonald’s Kenneth managed on Lee Road. Kenneth was 20, and Sheila was 18, and they had recently celebrated the birth of their first child.

In the late 70s, McDonald’s weren’t on every street corner the way they are today – at the time, there were less than 5,000 worldwide. Kenneth asked if he could hold their marriage ceremony at the fast-food stop, and they agreed…as long as they wouldn’t have to close during the wedding.

That’s how it came to be that amid customers ordering Big Macs and fry baskets being dropped inside, the Gibsons exchanged vows in an outdoor ceremony, and took some of the best wedding photos. White and powder-blue suits, afros and a burgundy Cadillac let you know exactly what year you’re in.

And yes, Kenneth and Sheila are still married. They have been blessed with 4 children and several grandkids.

Scientists make startling discovery after analyzing cloth 'Jesus was buried in'

A controversial linen shroud - regarded by some to be the one Jesus was buried in - has baffled the world for more than centuries.

When it was first exhibited in the 1350s, the Shroud of Turin was touted as the actual burial shroud used to wrap the mutilated body of Christ after his crucifixion.

Also known as the Holy Shroud, it bears a faint image of the front and back of a bearded man, which many believers is Jesus' body miraculously imprinted onto the fabric.
But research in the 1980s appeared to debunk the idea it was real after dating it to the Middle Ages, hundreds of years after Christ's death.
Now, Italian researchers who used a new technique involving x-rays to date the material have confirmed it was manufactured around the time of Jesus about 2,000 years ago.

They say the fact the timelines add up lends credence to the idea that the faint, bloodstained pattern of a man with his arms folded in front were left behind by Jesus' dead body.
The Bible states that Joseph of Arimathea wrapped the body of Jesus in a linen shroud and placed it inside the tomb.

Kaydell Brown, 38, of Sheffield, paid £5,400 for a 'mummy MOT' - a package deal involving a Brazilian butt lift, a tummy tuck and a b**b job. The cost in Britain would have been around £15,000

The hairdresser underwent the procedures at Clinic Expert in Istanbul on the morning of March 26, 2024, but never came out.
Her heartbroken sister Leanne, 40, who was due to have the same surgery, slammed the Turkish clinic, branding it a 'pop-up butcher shop that needs shutting down'.

Leanne claimed that after medics informed her of her sister's death she was handed an envelope of cash and was booked on the next flight home.
'It's like, ''Sorry she's dead, here's your plane ticket'',' she told

Kaydell had hoped the surgery would get her life 'back on track' after she put on weight due to injuring her ankle, according to her sister.
Leanne said: 'She was really happy. She was excited. We were smiling, having a laugh and she just wanted to get there and get it done.'
Two days later, Kaydell went down to theatre in the morning for the operation, which was meant to take five hours.

TED BAKER CLOSING LAST STORES WITH 500 JOBS AT RISK.

The remaining 31 Ted Baker stores in the UK are set to close this week, putting more than 500 jobs at risk.
All of the fashion brand's stores are expected to have shut by the end of Tuesday.
The firm behind Ted Baker's UK shops, No Ordinary Designer Label (NODL), fell into administration in March this year.
In April, its administrators closed 15 shops and cut 245 jobs. One analyst called the brand's demise a "long running corporate car crash".

The 31 stores that are closing are in:
Ashford, Bath, Belfast, the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, Braintree, Brent Cross (London), Bridgend, Cannock, Cheshire Oaks, Dublin, Grafton Street, Gatwick north, Gatwick South, Glasgow Buchanan Street, Gloucester Quays, Heathrow T2, T3, T4 and T5, Kildare, Livingston, Luton, Manchester Shambles, O2 Outlet, Portsmouth, Regent Street (London), Sheffield, St Pancras (London), Stansted, Swindon, White City (London) and York.

On Sunday, its UK retail website read "Goodbye for now", allowing customers 14 days for returns, adding that it was "not taking orders right now".
