July 30 is observed as World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. This global awareness day aims to shed light on the grave issue of human trafficking and raise awareness about its impact on vulnerable populations. The theme for this year’s campaign is “Leave No Child Behind in the Fight Against Human Trafficking.” Children represent a significant proportion of trafficking victims worldwide, with girls being disproportionately affected. In fact, 1 in 3 victims of human trafficking globally is a child. Efforts to combat child trafficking include improving legislation, law enforcement, and victim support services. Let’s work together to protect vulnerable groups and support child victims of trafficking.
