Been a while! I am contemplating what the future of Great Big Hoping Machine could look like (specifically, wondering about re-launching it in 2025 on an internet radio station, or perhaps a blog, or podcast, or regularly updated playlist). If anyone has any recommendations I would love to hear them! I miss playing DJ and love turning folks on to new music.

Which brings me to this song (linked in comments), "I'm Not a Quitter," by TrineLise Væring. Trinelise is a member of the band Tone of Voice Orchestra, from Denmark, who I used to play on my show. Trinelise reached out to me a couple of weeks ago to let me know about her new solo album. I love the single she shared and really appreciated her remembering my little show! Music transcends geographical and other bounds; that's one of the things so amazing about it.

Sharing songs with others has been one of my favorite things for as long as I can remember. Closing out the year feeling very grateful for the musical experiences I've had. Hey y'all! While I don't necessarily NEED another social media account, I did think it might be a good idea to create a page here on FB for my radio show, Great Big Hoping Machine! I started the show in June of 2022 but there are still some friends who are like, "wait, what? your radio show is like, YOUR radio show?" Yes.

It's a joy to put the show together, as it taps into one of my very favorite things ever, and that's exposing people to new music that they might not hear otherwise. Before I was a music creator, I was a music promoter, even if that means of promotion was simply creating mix tapes for friends. So think of GBHM as my mix tape to you, comprised of the best new music in the Americana, folk, country, singer-songwriter, etc. genres.
