Every photo has a story . . .

My friend found this bottle as we walked in the surf on the coast of Oregon. It contained a message written in first person by a young man who had passed away. He said he loved the outdoors.

His mother decided the best way for him to continue his adventures was to ride the Pacific waves. Along with the message was a mesh bag that apparently contained a small amount of the young man's ashes. It was very moving and we responded to his mother's email address to advise his most recent destination. He had traveled from Washington State to Seal Rock, Oregon.

We hope your Mom hears from many others as you continue your journeys, Juan.

These three images were included in the 2020 Gateway Arts Council art exhibit. And, we all know what 2020 brought.

There was no artist reception, no visitors, no sales.

"Phantom Ship" - A small island in Crater Lake in Oregon

"Oh, Buoy" - Newport, Oregon

"Message from Beyond" - We discovered this bottle on the shore in Seal Rock, Oregon. The message was written in the the "voice" of a young man who had passed away. He said he loved the outdoors and loved to travel, so his mother decided to allow him to continue his adventures. She placed what appeared to be a small packet of his cremated remains inside the bottle and tossed it into the Pacific Ocean. She included her contact information and asked to be notified as to where her son had traveled.

Ten years ago, I launched Believe Photography with the mission of reigniting the lost of art of letter writing. Now, more than ever, I can think of few things that would bring more joy to a friend, near or far, than discovering a hand-written card in the mailbox.

Today I am including a link to view my line of "Thinking of You" cards. I will continue to update and share additional galleries In the coming days.

Any of my photos can be made into a card and your sentiment can be added. Let me know and I will be happy to design it for you.

I am currently still able to have prints made locally, so cards can be available to ship, pick up, or deliver the same day. If that service ends, turn-around time will depend on the photo lab delivery service.

Photos I Hope you Never See

It may seem quite contradictory that a photographer would have images she hopes her friends nor her family never sees. Well, the reason is simple .
