2024 Pricing
The Barn at Poor House Farm has so much to offer you on your big day!
Our barn is absolutely beautiful! With 11,280 square feet of covered area we can accommodate most any size wedding. And, we are fully climate controlled.
The barn was built by a team of Amish craftsman from right here in Farmville. The logs being sourced from Nelson County and sawed just minutes away in Cullen VA. It doesn’t get any more local than that.
The old farm house affectionately known as “Big Mama’s House” can accommodate up to 12 for overnight stays or day host your bridal party with ease.
We also offer a grooms quarters, “The Bunk House” for the guys to hang out in while waiting for the big event.
Our daily rental package is really much more than just a day…
Feel free to arrive as early as 12 noon on the Friday before your big day as we know it can take a lot of work to make your vision come alive. Enjoy the space for your rehearsal as well as your rehearsal dinner. We ask that you stay no later than 9 pm.
Saturday morning you have run of the venue from 8 am to finish any decorating, take pictures or just hang out and relax. The bridal suite as well as the grooms quarters can be used all day. Please no overnight stays. You may remain on the property until 12 midnight. And finally you have Sunday up until 12 noon to remove all decor and clean up from the day before. It’s amazing not to have to deal with the mess the night of your wedding! We know from experience!
Here’s what’s included with the venue:
Ceremony site with benches to seat up to 400 guest. Tables and chairs, table linens, caterers kitchen, commerical pellet ice machine, bar area with sink, 3 large troughs for icing and or serving beverages, PA system, 16 whiskey barrels and tons of other miscellaneous decor.
Total daily investment of $9,500.00
You can add
Day of event planner, DJ for 8 hours , Florals
Cake and or dessert of your choice. Each of the above will be priced individually. We also have a 3 seater golf cart for a daily rental fee.
If you choose to use the property for the full weekend with overnight accommodations, The property is yours from 9 am Friday until 9 am Monday! We provide a Mimosa and fruit bar for the ladies and whiskey and snack bar for the guys on Saturday. Other than that, you won’t be bugged by us unless you need us!
Total investment for a full weekend package is
$16,000.00
