The news you have all been waiting for, the themes and competitions. I hope this will inspire you to buy a ticket.

The theme will be Back to the 80s so please come dressed up if you wish for the full day

The competitions for those who have not done one before is to dress any doll in an outfit that matches the theme for the entry. They are all voted on, by yourselves and the results counted up and fabulous prizes given out in the afternoon.

Competition 1 the colour is PURPLE

Competition 2 is Back to the 80’s anything goes

Competition 3 is Favourite character from a book (it doesn’t have to be an 80s book)

Competition 4 is Best knitted or crocheted outfit

Competition 5 is the photo competition any doll in an 80’s theme ( photos to be no bigger than A4)

Please bring your photos with you on the day to display for the competition along with your dolls

Please no diorama for the competitions as space is limited. Please bring your dolls on a stand to have on the display. The work also has to be your own.

I hope you have are excited by the competitions and I am sure everyone will have some amazing ideas. There will also be cosplay in the afternoon so if you haven’t got your ticket for cosplay please do so. There will be a prize for everyone who takes part in cosplay and the best 3 will get an extra prize. Cosplay is alot of fun and nothing to worry about just dress like your doll.

Hi everyone firstly thank you to everyone who has bought a ticket I really appreciate it. This is all new to me so please bear with me.
I have been asked a few questions so I hope this answers them
For sellers the doors open at 8.30
For attendees the doors open for registration at 9.30 for a 10am start this will give you time to display your competition entries.
Cosplay is in the afternoon
Food will be served at 12.30 if anyone has food allergies, if you are Vegetarian or Vegan please let me know well in advance so I can let the caterers know.
There are lots of hotels, premier inns and Travel lodges. The nearest hotel is the Hilton at Doncaster Racecourse and the venue is 2 miles straight up the road from there The railway station is about 3 miles away.
It is a beautiful venue and the food is really good. Buffet lunch will be provided.
Please tell your friends I really want this to be a lovely fun day celebrating our love of dolls
I will be releasing the competition themes this week so look out for the email from event brite with them all on,
you will all have lots of time to get your thinking caps on for the exciting themes for the competitions.

Hi I have had a few people asking about hotels The Premier Inn at Doncaster Central East is near the Dome and it is 3 miles from the venue. There is also the Hilton that is about 2 miles. You might be able to get a good deal by booking early.

We are having a dolls hospital so you can bring your poorly dolls for help and advice on how to repair them. There will be restringing and re-rooting demonstrations.

Eventbrite gives you all the online tools you need to bring people together for an event and sell tickets.

Hi all thanks for liking and following the page I will set up a group when tickets have been sold so we can talk to each other. Dolly Gathering will happen on 27th July 2024 at the Legacy centre in Doncaster. I want it to be a fun event with competitions (themes to follow) cosplay and there will be lunch provided. I am looking to have stalls so if you are a seller and would like a table please send me a private message and I can let you know details. I am also putting on some workshops I have an expert who can show you how to re-root and re -string so you can have a go. There will be a raffle with some lovely prizes. It is just a get together so we can all talk dolls and have a fun enjoyable day. Ticket will be on sale through Eventbrite and will go on sale on Monday 13th November at 10am. I have tried to keep the ticket prices down so it just covers the overheads I am not looking to make any profit on this. I will post a link nearer the time to the event bright page. Hi thank you for liking the Dolly Gathering page I am very new to all this so please bare with me. I am looking to hold the event on Saturday 27th July 2024 at the Legacy Centre in Doncaster. I propose to put on competitions Cosplay and have stalls selling their items and just a place for us all to gather to talk dolls, have a coffee and some lunch.
