Time...

As with any formal event, time plays a crucial role.

Time to choose the perfect dress.
Time for it to be ordered and arrive.
Time for alterations to get the absolute best fit.

Little time = unnecessary stress.

Reality...the wedding is in 48 hours and finding 6 matching bridesmaids dresses in a specific shade of burnt orange is probably not going to happen. My suggestion to the bride today was to switch up the color to navy, tan or black, let everyone wear something different and roll with it at this point. I couldn't help her except to offer this idea and wish her well.

Where do you get your gowns?

Our wedding gowns and bridal party gowns come directly from the designers and are available in various colors/sizes. Three designers are based in the UK, one is based in New York and one in Texas. We have samples in the shop. We measure you to determine your size with the designer, collect a deposit and order your gown.

Our homecoming and prom gowns come from various designers and are sold off the rack. We do not special order other colors/sizes.

We absolutely do not buy a gown from an individual whether it's been worn or not.

When do you have sales?

Several times a year the wedding gown styles change and some are no longer made. Those samples move to our sale rack at 40-60% off original price. Most are bridal sizes 10-16 with a few size 8 and size 18.

July/August and November/December are the best months for the short and long dress sales. They are on sale from 20-50% off original price. These are perfect for parties, galas, black tie weddings, winter formal, prom.

What if the dress needs alterations?

Nearly everyone needs some alterations to get a perfect fit. Sometimes it's something simple like making the straps shorter and sometimes it's taking in the bodice or shortening the length. We can give you a list of local seamstresses if you do not have someone who can do it for you. They are completely independent from us and you contact them directly for service.

Do you need an appointment?

We see brides and bridesmaids by appointment only.
No appointment is needed for homecoming, prom, or evening gown shopping.

Do you charge for appointments?

No. There is no charge but we do hope you can be courteous and call to cancel if your plans change.

How long are bridal and bridesmaid appointments?

Monday - Friday appointments are 2 hours long. Saturday appointments are 90 minutes/ 1.5 hours.
Evening and Sunday appointments vary.

Do you sell wedding gowns off the rack or by special order only?

Both. We always have some wedding gowns in bridal sizes 8-18 available for immediate purchase. Our special order wedding gowns take from 2 to 16 weeks to arrive once they are ordered. Some designers have some styles in stock so they arrive quickly.

We do not have bridesmaid dresses in stock. We have samples of over 100 styles that are available in sizes 0-28 and 30-60 colors. You chose the style and color and then we measure the bridesmaid to determine the closest size, collect 50% deposit and order the dress.
